We really enjoyed our stay at Guest House 44 at the beginning of July. Our room, #5, was the only one available when we were booking but we were not disappointed. We had enough room for my husband and me as well as a fold-out cot for our daughter. The best part of this room was the private terrace that overlooked the rooftops of Dubrovnik with a view of Mount Srd. On the last night, we had a view of the fireworks for the opening of a festival. The decor is beautiful and the beds are comfortable. We were greeted by Paola and also helped by Matea. Everyone was very nice. The breakfast was amazing. This room is at the very top of the hotel and there is no elevator but the staff was very helpful with carrying up our luggage.
My wife and i had an excellent stay and dinner at guest house 44. The excellent service started before our arrival. They called me to ask if i needed any assistance at arrival (the hotel/restaurant is in the middle if the old town, where no cars are allowed). As it happened my transfer car from Trogir was running late, and i was going to be late for my dinner reservation. They graciously moved the time. Upon arrival, we were greeted outside. Before i knew it, our bags were taken to our room. Check in was easy. We quickly washed up and came down for dinner. The host (owner?) sat us on an elevated private patio. We had one of the best meals of our trip. The octopus was cooked to perfection, as was the sea bass. Our waiter recommended a wine pairing that was perfect. Breakfast the next morning was a five course meal! Bread and jam, meats and cheese, eggs, a fruit plate and croissants. All graciously presented by the staff. Our room was nicely appointed, furnished, with a very comfortably sized bathroom/shower. We looked out on a church and private courtyard. The beautiful limestone wall opposite our bed was a lovely reminder we were staying in a 300 year old palace. The a/c was our respite/savior from the extreme heat in the alley ways and on the walls of the old town. With only five guest rooms its a true boutique hotel. If you're looking for an excellent place to stay in the old town, look no further than guest house 44.…
My husband and I stayed here for two nights June 5th and 6th. Paula greeted us at the city gates and led us to the hotel. Our room was spotless, comfortable and lovely. The location couldn’t be better. Dinner at their restaurant was fantastic. Breakfasts were very nice as well. Highly recommend!
Rooms are perfect for a city break- spacious, comfortable and quiet for the centre of old town. Breakfast was really good and you can order anything you want, we had the homemade bread every morning which was lovely. The staff are amazing and are so helpful. We had dinner at Forty Four the restaurant downstairs which was the best meal we had while in Dubrovnik. No faults that I can think of with the hotel or restaurant. I would definitely stay here again.
We had a lovely three night stay at Guesthouse 44. We stayed in Contradiction on the top floor. It was quiet at night - yet the location is in the heart of the Old Town, close to everything. Everyone at the hotel and restaurant was friendly and extremely helpful. They go above and beyond to help make your stay enjoyable. Vinko and Christian were both amazing! The room had a comfortable bed and nice amenities - highly recommend this boutique hotel!
5* The acommodation, the staff and the whole holiday in general was more than delightful regarding all of our requests and questions. Room service was impecable and clean, Ivana, Romana and Vinko, thank you and see you again.
We booked a studio with balcony right in the hart of the old town Dubrovnik. Our first time in the city so we did not know what to expect, well all way above our expectations! From the first contact with the manager Vinko (for whom nothing was too much to make our stay perfect), the location in a beautiful refurbished building up to the highest standards, the delicious breakfast (Vinko even went the the bakery in the morning to buy fresh warm croissants) and the high quality of the room (included the lovely sleeping beds), all memorable. We will certainly be back, thank you again Vinko and team!
We had a problem with our booking and the property contacted ys immediately to offer us help. They were super friendly and helpful. They solved all our problems immediately. If you want to have a nice holiday with your family avoiding any possible struggles this is the right place for you! Very much recommended.
My husband and I spent 3 nights here in October 2019 and it was complete perfection! The accommodations were lovely and the balcony was a bonus! The staff were all so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious! The location can’t be beat for old town. If we are lucky enough to make it back to Dubrovnik we will only stay here, we loved it!!!
We stayed at this lovely small hotel for New Year. Quality decor and v comfortable room. Super service from the team, and a brilliant restaurant. The location is ideal for exploring the old city; having a base at the centre of such a well preserved part of history is a massive benefit
