My wife and I chose Apartment Lukre based on the reviews and are glad we did. Even tho we did not need the extra room it was really nice to be able to spread out. We spent six nights here and really enjoyed our time in Dubrovnik. The location, as noted, is ideal. It is close to the Pile gate (the main gate), restaurants and markets. It is also next to a beach (not a sand beach as we think of but beautiful clear water and lots of room to soak up a few rays on the rocks). Also great location for sunsets. Livio delivered us to the airport quickly and for a fair price which was a plus. Our bags were stored on our last day so we could spend a little more time in the old town and have lunch. We checked out the cruise ship schedule and left town on the busiest days. Walk the wall at 8:00 AM! Beautiful. A day trip to Mostar was interesting and we had a terrific kayak adventure from Lopud. Talk to Livio about what he can do for you personally in the way of tours. Loved Croatia.…
Location, location, location! 5 min walk from Pile Gate being the entrance to Old Town. En route, a couple of mini markets and a couple of bakeries. We stayed in room Lukre for 4 nights. Size was fine and cleanliness to a high standard. The only thing stopping me from giving it a 5 rating were the towels which were pretty thread bare and need replacing and even just a couple of plates to eat our breakfast and lunch on would have been appreciated. Fresh baguette from the local bakery to make ham, cheese salad rolls for lunch, washed down with an iced cold beer (good fridge) on the apartment block patio made lunch a very enjoyable break from all the sight seeing. 5 mins away meant bobbing back was no problem. €60 pn in September, reducing to €50 pn in October was very fair value. Happy to recommend staying there.…
Let me be direct about this - if you are staying in Dubrovnik and an apartment here is available, BOOK IT fast! Perfect location--convenient for everything. Five minutes walking to the Old Town, short bus ride to central bus station, perfect location for everything else in Dubrovnik. The owner, Livio, is very nice and helpful. Stayed in a 4 person apartment for 3 nights with family. It has a GREAT terrace, with an incredible view. No issues whatsoever. AC works very well, rooms are clean, and overall an extremely pleasant stay with family. Small kitchen came in handy with the family. A small market and sandwich shop are 2-3 minutes walking. Will definitely stay here again next time in Dubrovnik- no need to look for anything else.
This apartment is located just outside the old city walls, offering a welcome escape from the madness of the thousands of extra visitors each day that come from the cruise ships. It is an easy walk to the city and the fort. There are a number of restaurants, cafes, bakeries and markets near by as well as a gorgeous swimming inlet with a couple of funky bars that is generally less crowded than other more well known spots. My husband and I chose to stay in the apartment rather than the room as it was still great value and offered a kitchenette and terrace. You can see the old city walls from both the terrace and the main bedroom. We really enjoyed the extra space and the terrace was a great place to wind down with a cold beer or glass of wine at the end of a hot summer day. Livio was a great host. The apartment was spotless, he offered us a transfer to the airport at a reasonable price and when we asked about a laundromat, took our clothes home instead and brought them back the next day, washed and IRONED at no extra cost ... this was certainly going above and beyond! …
We stayed in the room and found it to be clean, modern, and comfortable. Air conditioning works very well and plenty of hot water. The location is great. It's a short walk to Pile Gate, but in a quieter area. Mini markets and bakeries close by if you want to have snacks in the room. Mini fridge to keep drinks cold. Kettle for coffee or tea (coffee not provided, but we always bring our own.) Livio met us at the airport and gave us a short history lesson on the drive into Dubrovnik. He also explained all of the workings of the room and there is also a folder in the room in case you need more information. If you want assistance in advance for booking tours, activities, or transportation to Split, email Marilyn and Livio ahead of time.
