Had a very enjoyable time. Well located with good facilities. Access to the old town by bus is only 20mins away with the bus stop just across the road from the hotel. Loads of restaurant options for lunch, however, breakfast was a scrum... Recommend, but at the right price

Enjoyed a week at the royal blue hotel. The hotel is stunning with clean and spacious rooms and large bathrooms! The roof top infinity pool is something to behold and you can sit and watch the sunset as you sip a cocktail at the rooftop terrace. Below the hotel was a rocky outcrop with sun beds and brollies you had to be quick to nab a sunbed! Meal wise we arrived quite late on the first night so opted to eat at the hotel. The theme was Barbque that particular night. It was quite poor with not much left at 9pm. Quite expensive for what we had so didn’t make that mistake again. There are plenty of places to eat in the area . Which is a 20 min walk along a footpath to the busier area. There’s a bus outside every 10 mins that goes directly into Dubrovnik .Breakfast was okay plenty of options but the staff didn’t seem to be very organised. With clearing away just stood there. There were omelettes on offer at the weekend only. Which was strange. You had to ask for eggs to be cooked to your liking. There are 2 other sister hotels but 1 restaurant serving all 3 so could get extremely busy in the morning. All in all good time had. With a few tweaks it could be perfect.

We lasted one night here. Arrived with no help from any porter to a dopey night clerk. Had booked a double bed and "garden view". Got two singles and a view of the carpark and a room that smelled of sewage. Used the affinity pool (which is a lovely spot) but as soon as the girl at the bar had time off the staff put on loud techno all day and all evening (local radio). We agreed to change room to a double bed sea view and asked the desk person over and over to confirm it was booked (the guy in front was incandescent at that being flaky in his case). You can just sense when staff are hopeless and so it was, when we came to move room they had given it to someone else (no use of computers it seems) and offered another single bed slot next door in the sewerage smell-zone. That was after marching me to the room telling me how she had little time available to do so (at which I pointed out they had wasted 24 hours of our holiday). We ultimately ran out of patience decamped to the Dubrovnik Palace and had a lovely week. A bit business class, but lovely views and helpful staff (and no moronic techno music on loop). Shame about Royal Blue because if they were managed, the basic hotel has a lot going for it (rooms are nice higher up and sea facing).

We stayed at the royal princess for 6 nights in July. We originally booked the Royal Blue however they switched us to the Royal Princess - we got a free upgrade to an amazing sea view room and the hotels are pretty much all the same anyway so it made no difference. I couldn’t rate this hotel highly enough - the holiday was fantastic from start to finish. Loads of pools (adults only and children), breathtaking sea views, a little gorgeous turquoise beach, lovely breakfast, a 2 min walk to the promenade (lapad bay) which takes you to many diff restaurants and copacabana beach, 10 min drive to the old town (Uber cost us the equivalent of £6.70 one way). The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Amazing, amazing, amazing. Can’t wait to go back!

I would have rated it lower but that would mean giving it an average score which is not a true reflection of our experience. The hotel it self is well positioned, clean and looks the part, however I would not class this as a 5 star hotel. In the staff were very friendly and helpful, but there are a few points that let it down from my experience: 1) we were given a complimentary fruit plater in the room on the first day, we enjoyed some of the fruit but from that point it was never cleared away by room service so we had this fruit slowly decomposing in the room. 2)The shower was not consistent with the water turning cold to extremely hot while showering. 3) the breakfast provided a large amount of options but the execution was lacking, watered down orange purée is not 5 star and the breakfast room was a bit chaotic. Overall the house is a lovely place and well situated but not a 5 star hotel.

Royal blue is part of a much bigger complex of five hotels. It isn’t really a hotel in its own right, more of a nicer part of a whole. We had a lovely see view room with s good balcony overlooking sea and pool. Big room, comfy large bed. House keeping not the best, coffee not replaced, toilet rolls ran out, bathroom not cleaned. Could be better. Room needs better coffee options as choice was sickly 3-in-1 rubbish or a cheap instant. Overall a good place but need a lot more sun beds around the pool area as these are full from 9am and taken all day. Beach area is hazardous and needs some additional maintenance. We only had beds on the rocky beach area as it was all that was available. Bars aren’t very accessible from the beach and a difficult walk if carrying drinks. No drinks service evident for bed side delivery. Breakfast is a frantic affair with numerous staff pacing the floor desperate to clear every knife, fork or cup. The options don’t change so a bit repetitive and no made to order options. Decent range otherwise but my coffee really is disgusting and fresh juice is diluted from concentrate and full o floor sugar. It’s not very convenient for the old town as you need to either wait for a bus in the blistering heat or take a cap each way every time. Good if you just want a beach hotel but not if you want to mix both. Becomes a bit annoying having to cab everywhere.

Dear thesvenisss, Thank you for taking the time to write down your review following your stay in Royal Blue. It is great to hear that your overall stay was pleasant and you enjoyed the big room and comfortable bed. On the other hand, we are sorry to hear we did not meet your expectations in some other aspects of the service. We will definitely look into this further and try to find the best possible solution. Regarding the convenience for the Old Town, majority of our guests prefers this location away from the crowd and noise. They find the bus to be very accessible due to our resort being the first and the last stop to and from the Old Town. Thank you once again for staying with us and leaving your feedback. We hope we will have the pleasure of welcoming you back soon. Kind regards, Royal Hotels & Resort

Just back from a great stay at Royal Blue. Multiple pools to choose from but one amazing adult only rooftop pool area we spent most of our time at, great private beaches with beds, beautiful hotel room and bathroom. Had a lovely dinner watching the sunset with live music and very attentive service. There are a selection of bars to go to, we enjoyed many glasses of wine overlooking the sea at bono bar (the beach bar is also great). Many boat tours on offer, we went on one to the 3 islands, lovely boat with comfy seats and music. Great location being away from the busy old town, but it’s only a quick Uber ride away. Can’t wait to go back again next year!

Hotel is in a great location our sea view room was lovely and well worth the upgrade. Bed is very comfortable, balcony has 2 reclining chairs and all the room amenities were good. Lots of pools and sea front lounge areas to choose from and location of the hotel had a cooling breeze that was very welcome (unlike some of the beach areas around the bay). The access to the sea is a bit hazardous when there is a swell - note to hotel please try to improve this. Various bars and restaurants which were not too expensive. The reason this is not a 5 star rating is the breakfast which was a bit of a scrum unless you get there early (all the hotels eat in one restaurant) no egg or pancake station, can’t make a decent cup of tea, not enough selection of sweet pastries/muffins etc although the never ending supply of mini chocolate or marmalade croissants was very good. I would definitely choose this hotel again.
