While this resort is gorgeous, the service and cleanliness is lacking. Even after talking to the manager, the fixes were “quick” fixes. The issues with the specific room, 5308 were; 1. Ants 2. Outlet plug in the bathroom came off 3. Heater rack in bathroom not working 4. Shower drain 5. Mold on the shower door area The team addressed the ant problem by spraying some chemical spray. The team addressed the mold issue by removing the plastic strip. This then caused a lot of water to spill out each time we took a shower. Never could figure out the heater rack. The team put some putty to fix the outlet plug issue. Food at the resort is mediocre at best. The only pro is the gorgeous views.

Incredible views, new construction/design, plush linens, and excellent service all over the resort… special shout out to the guys working the rooftop bar, especially Ivan, Savo, and Drago, who (among so many others) were so genuinely friendly and accommodating. There were also a couple of really great local musicians playing the night of June 6, Ivan Jakić and a friend of his whose name I lost… highly recommend this hotel and this experience for anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life!

Sadly the weather was bad when we were there - rain and wind - so they never opened the rooftop pool so we never even got to see it, which was the main reason I booked the hotel. The rooms were a nice size, and had fabulous views of the ocean, and there is a lovely promenade right outside the hotel. Our first room had A/C that didn't work, so we had to re-pack and move rooms. The staff is very nice. Breakfast was good with plentiful options, but it is a long way from the room in a different building. and you have to go outside, which is not ideal in the rain. The bed was very comfortable. This hotel is about a 15 minute taxi ride to Dubrovnik - there is a bus that is close but it is completely jammed with people at all times, even in May. We took it to Dubrovnik, but could not get on 2 buses coming back so took a taxi and got badly ripped off - 35 euros - our fault for not asking. We ended up liking being away from Dubrovnik, which is so crowded and touristy, and there are several nice restaurants nearby. We would stay here again.

We stayed here on a three night couples break. Booked a premium sea view room which was absolutely stunning!! The balcony is huge and you have the most amazing view, waking up to that every morning was well the upgrade. The room itself was huge also and very well laid out. Big bathroom with bath and shower overhead. The breakfast was lovely with a good selection. Best scrambled egg I've ever had in a hotel. The roof top bar is lovely to sit with cocktail. You can walk a lovely coastal path into Lapad where there are a small selection of restaurants and bars. We walked the city walls which if you're able to walk a good distance and climb stairs is well worth it and I'd recommend. We also booked kayaking with a stop at a cave to snorkel. The tour guide was really knowledgeable. We also done the DU zip wire where you fly like superman over the mountains and sea, fantastic! I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Spotless clean, friendly staff and gorgeous rooms.

First if all and it's not advertised anywhere is that this hotel is part of the Royal Resort and you have 4 or 5 hotels which are all side by side, it is literally a resort you are going to, multiple pools, bars and restaurants to go to. Our room was spectacular with amazing views overlooking the sea. The beds were made daily. I really wanted to give 5 stars as we had an amazing time at the hotel and staff were friendly, but a few small things let it down such as paying over €8 for a pint of beer, the price in general for drink was shocking, the same food daily for breakfast was a bit repetitive for me, multiple pools and no lifeguard on duty at any of them and some of the pools also seemed to be left to rot as no steel steps there to get in and out and you could could see the decay around the area.

The hotel was really good and we had a fantastic view over the Adriatic. The bed was really comfortable and huge. Only downside food could have been better choice and warmer. I put this down to the time of the holiday season. It wouldn't stop us coming back however.

The great stuff first: On arrival we were a little early so the room was not quite ready, we were given a voucher for complementary drinks. We didn't have to wait for long and the room was ready. The room we booked was worth waiting for. Wow, it was super clean, beautiful large bed, plenty of storage, plenty of space, beautiful balcony over looking the ocean, beautiful towels and bathrobes/slippers. Well stocked fridge. Friendly cleaning staff, happy to give extra coffee sachets. The little niggles: After a busy season I imagine the hotel has been very busy so little things need fixing: wobbly loo roll holder kept falling onto the floor. Wobbly loose grab handle for getting up into the bath to shower. It would be beneficial to have another safety grab handle for stepping out of the bath onto the floor after showering, I would imagine people that are a little unsteady on their feet or have issues may find this tricky for fear of slipping. I had to use the door post to steady my stepping out. Also the shower went intermittent very hot during use. The larger niggles - one members of staff was not exactly welcoming or friendly when at the bar asking for drinks during the day (this is the bar by the pool under the main reception area (I think the sports bar). A little grumpy in fact. Whereas the staff in the bar overlooking the ocean were very friendly and nothing was any trouble. It would also be helpful for the reception to have more information about the Debrovnik card/pass. On the second day we bought ours and it did save in some restaurants but the main part was the very regular and handy bus that takes you straight to the Old Town, which we visited several times. Amazing place with amazing little eateries and bars. Take a little torch, needed at night returning from bus to hotel, badly lit path with little lumps of tar/cement that could be easily tripped over. There is an amazing well lit path that leads you from the front of the hotel along to Lapad Bay, during the day or at night it's lovely. Little restaurants along the way. Breakfast at the hotel was busy, but in the main the food was nice and fresh, problems with shortages of cutlery and napkins but apart from that it was quite good. We loved our trip to Dubrovnik, we would go back and we'd stay at the same hotel.

We recently returned from a holiday in Dubrovnik with friends and although we booked with the Royal Ariston we were upgraded to the Royal Blu. Its 180o design provides a fabulous outlook whether you have a sea or inland balcony and the rooms and their facilities were first class- two large double beds(super comfortable) /linen and pillow cases changed twice during the stay with daily refresh of the bath towels. Excellent high quality toiletries with just a small observation that for elderly people with poor mobility the step over the bath to use the shower would present a problem.( a walk in shower would be the answer) You couldn't fault the breakfast - choice for all tastes/diets excellent quality and range with constant refreshing right up to service close. Yes it could get busy with three hotels using the facility but you could find personal space with added extras like sparkling wine ! Also requests for poached eggs/omelettes . Plenty of time to schedule your breakfast 6.30 am to 10.30 with all the staff(room maids/breakfast service/reception) attentive and and very polite and always accommodating. With numerous pools + an infinity rooftop pool/bar along with a gym and spa you couldn't ask for more. All quests had access to all three hotels (pools/bars/restaurants) The location next to the coastal path to Lapad (leisurely 30 min walk)offering a lovely relaxing wander down along the coast line with steps to rock side bathing areas.(water crystal clear). The bus service No 6 to the Pile Gate(old City) and the No7 to the bus Station was just 50 yards from the hotel front. Brilliant service single journey(up to 60 mins) for just 13 Kuna(15 if you paid on the bus). The best option to avoid taxi costs
