A gem in all respects. Great location. You only have to go up 12 steps to reach the front door, not 200 for some of the other apartments available for rent in the old town. This is adjacent to the wall by the old port, slightly off the beaten track, yet with easy access to everything. Charmingly decorated with folk art and historical photos. Marc is an ebullient host with an extraordinary life story and in depth knowledge of Dubrovnik past and present. It was a treat to stay in apartment 1. Thank you, Marc!
This apartment provided all the comforts of home, in an ideal location, in Old Town, Dubrovnik. Was able to walk everywhere in and around Old Town, at my convenience. The owner was most helpful with many excellent recommendations.
From first contact through to departure Marc was a wonderful host. We stayed in Apartment 2 in September. It looked and sounded great and fully lived up to our expectations. It is individual and unique and is clearly part of a family home, and immediately made us feel at home in the beautiful old town. The apartment is tucked away in a side street very close to the harbour and within easy reach of all the main attractions whilst at the same time feeling off the beaten track and a haven away from the crowds. Marc arranged for us to be met and the airport and then met us himself in the old town to take us to the apartment. Marc himself is a great raconteur and a great source of local knowledge. Very helpful and approachable without being intrusive.
Tucked away from the main routes, the apartment was really easy to access from everywhere in the old town but also a haven of serenity from the bustle of the busy main drag. Marc met us from the taxi he had arranged for us from the airport, so finding the hotel was not a problem. The apartment was clean and quirky, with all the basics needed for a simple self-catering trip. Having a kitchenette meant we didn't need to eat out for every meal and could make our own breakfasts and an occasional lunch or dinner. It was great having a second bedroom as we had space to spread out.
We stayed in apartment #2 for four nights in late September. Its location was easy access from the Ploce Gate. It also means that escaping the hordes of tourist that choke Dubrovnik midday is easy and necessary. The apartment is very well equipped and quite comfortable. Aircon, WiFi, and all other systems work well. It is very clean, quiet, and secure. Marc is an attentive host and a pleasure to deal with. We quite enjoyed our stay here and consider it the very best option for surviving the crush of Dubrovnik.
