Was excited to stay inside walls of palace and this hotel gives you that. It is the oldest hotel in the palace and the history greets you when you walk in. However rooms are modern and comfortable. Windows must be double glazed as the noise didn't bother us at night. Reception was friendly and beyond helpful. I emailed them many... More

The hotel is located not too far from the old town wall, which is convenient when carrying bags since no cars are allowed past that point. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Arranging for a private car service to the airport the same price as a taxi. The hotel and rooms are modern and clean. The breakfast included... More

Amazing location in an amazing city. You are in the ehart of Diocletain's palace and about five minutes if that from the main tourist sites. Arrived a little early for check in and left bag in luggage room before going off to explore. Spotlessly clean Wifi excellent, rooms good and for once, barely able to hear any noise from neighbouring... More

Stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights and not only did we love the location (within the walls of the palace) but they have the best staff. We took the tour with Mirjianna and she is a very knowledgable person and certainly shows passion for her country. We would be back no doubt!!

This hotel was a god send! Great bed, pillows and shower which can be rare in Europe. A very modern hotel inside an old building, don't let the building put you off! I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

As stated it is a lovely central and very friendly place to stay. It is within the walls of the Diocletian palace so , as with other places inside, you have to take your own luggage, fortunately it isn't very far away from a main road so if you are older or infirm it's worth being aware of this, as... Had a wonderful overnight stay here. Lovely triple room with a terrace, at the top of this very old and historic hotel. The location is excellent and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. High point was the booked tour of the city which was led by a member of staff (so sorry I can't remember your name) but your love... More

This hotel is fabulous. It's got a great location inside the palace walls and it's a wonderful mix of ancient on the outside and modern on the inside. Breakfast is delicious with a huge selection of choices and they will even make you cooked eggs. The staff was friendly and helpful. I did not find it noisy at night, maybe... More

The fact that I paid a visit to this place only to have coffee and take a break from wandering round the city does not diminish the pleasure I took in spending some time in its basement restaurant. Not being a fan of air-conditioning, I found a great place to relax in a hot summer day as its thick stone... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Slavija is type of a heritage hotel due to its location, history and protection by Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia and UNESCO. The Diocletian's Palace was built in the middle of the 3rd century AD, while the Hotel Slavija was built inside its walls, above the Emperor's western baths. Therefore, it can be concluded that the building of the hotel influenced the protection of the Baths from the devastation. With time the building of the hotel expanded, and from the Baroque palace it became today's Hotel Slavija. Hotel Slavija is under the protection of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia, and in part is protected by the UNESCO. The location in the very center of the town makes Hotel Slavija an ideal choice for a stay in Split, surrounded by all relevant historical buildings of the city of Split, including the Temple of Jupiter, the St. Duje Cathedral, the Milesi palace... It is ideal place for both business and pleasure travelers because of its location. Hotel is situated in the very center of the city and is but a few minutes walk from all the major attractions as well as from the main bus terminal, airport shuttle terminal, railway station and ferry. The hotel has 25 rooms and each room is air conditioned, with private bath, hair dryer, satellite TV, Internet connection and direct dial telephone. Some of the rooms are with terraces and Hotel is especially proud to present them because, terraces are rarity in the old part of Split. In the lobby of the hotel is Internet Hot spot, which is free for hotel guests. We also provide faxing, copying, printing and scanning, as well as laundry service. ... more   less
