Thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at this lovely small hotel in the centre of Split. The location is fabulous, right in the heart of the city and on the edge of the Dicoletions Palace. Lovely friendly staff who are willing and able to help with questions about Split. Also got some brilliant recommendations about where locals go to eat. Can't... More

We loved this apartment. It was one large room with bed, wardrobe, table and chairs and a kitchenette area then a separate bathroom. It was simply decorated with white walls and wooden floor but it was lovely. It is in the old part of Split not far from the Diocletian Palace. We had apartment 2 and it had a dual... More

Very clean and comfortable room. We stayed here our first two nights in Croatia and the staff were amazing. Not only did they arrange transfer to our next stop but they also helped us learn some of the local language. We will definitely stay here again!

We stayed 3 nights here in June. Prior to arriving, we received a very helpful email from Frane (the owner) explaining how to get to the guesthouse. Frane and his girlfriend were very welcoming and helpful. Our room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The air conditioner worked great (better than any others we had on our Croatia trip). Split was the last stop on our 9 day tour around Croatia, and everything about Split was just great! We arrive at Matkovic at around 9PM, and Frane the owner meets us, and carries our 3 massive suitcases up 3 flights of stairs like a pro! “We only stayed in the studio apartment -- it was quieter than you'd think, first coming onto the property. Especially quiet when you have the white noise of the A/C or fan on at night. Some "noise" from the park, but never too early or too late and not usually too loud.”
  • Bed and nice big window with a lovely view of the park.
