My family stayed at this hotel in August 2020. The location was the main reason why this hotel was chosen - it is really close to port and right next to the Split train station - it was very convenient for us as we used both ferries and train. Although it is close to the only sandy beach in Split (about 10-minutes walk), it is not as management would want you believe. While this place is obviously not a luxury hotel, it seems it is being neglected even for a budget accommodation. Management decided to save some money on basic maintenance - not sure if it has anything to do with corona virus hitting hard their revenue or it is just desire to extract profits as fast as possible - I've made some pictures that will be of more help than my writing... I would say that the most unpleasant part of staying at this place was the payment. The management (owner?) is preferring euro to local currency (kuna) and upon our arrival late into the evening demanded payment in euro. Since I am from US, we didn't have euro's and I asked for the price in kunas - so happened that I did not have enough kunas left to cover the bill in full and asked if I could pay tomorrow. Well, tomorrow, when I came to settle the bill, I was told a different amount - extra 75 kunas. Apparently, the owner or was it a representative would like not only profit from the property itself, but also tries to make money on currency fluctuations. And yeah, this is cash only establishment... All in all the whole experience left very bad aftertaste. Personally, I would not book again at this accommodation, even though nothing major has happened...…
We just needed to stay one night as a stop over before we headed to one of the Islands(port across the road ) we arranged with Simon to pick us up from airport he was waiting for us on time he is super friendly always big smile 😁 got us to hotel. Room basic clean but everything you need so close to beautiful Split town 😉 also Simon offered us to store luggage and drop us to airport after our return from the island which was greatly appreciated. Overall really friendly owners will do anything to help you to have a great stay. Hope we will be back soon to explore Split and will stay here again Carol/Daren 😎
We were happy with this place. Just a 5 minute walk to the old city. Its not the proverbial hilton but you do get a nice room and a nice view as we had the top floor double with the balcony overlooking the port. Great value for the price - we only stayed one night and for 1 to 2 nights it did the job well.
We had the rooms on top level #13 & #14, with balcony. They were the only ones side by side on 3rd level. No lifts here but Simon will help you. Rooms are tiny and luggage can be put in the kitchenette/dining/hanging closet area. Sleeping area only the bed & 2 side tables. No provision for any extra bed. Better off getting a triple room instead. Noise here is basically the train engine daily at nights, which ends 10-10:30pm. Morning train will blow a loud horn. We, personally, found the mattress to be on the hard side. The views are overlooking the train tracks, train station & city behind that. Good breakfasts at the train station as well as short cut to the waterfront, but beware of daily dogs poop as you enter the carpark. The family will get you a parking lot should you come back without finding one.…
Me and my friend stayed here. Simon went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and was so friendly! Room was basic, clean and had everything we needed, with great air conditioning! Location is phenomenal, everything in Split is walkable which makes life very easy.
