Detailed Reviews
Room was small but cheap, very clean, very kind staff. Very nice shower, but the curtain kept on falling off haha. Location was great, and itās so convenient that thereās a super market just in front!

I think this is the cheapest you can find a private room in Antigua.
Location is great and the staff are nice.
There are reasons it is so cheap: not the cleanest or largest rooms but if you are just looking for basic value and you donāt mind a lack of frills, this is a good place.

While very well located, a few blocks from the Parque Central and all restaurants/bars/shops/markets... this hostel is not as good as it looks: bedrooms are super small, private bath in ours was smelly and, never in our 7-night stay did we have hot water except for 5 minutes right after the plumber came..
It is very noisy, both by careless disrespectful other guests and by the restaurant downstairs.
A pity, though, as staff was absolutely friendly and well-mannered.

I was traveling with a group of 9 people, we had 5 single rooms and 2 double rooms. We checked in late Wednesday night with no problems. The next day after breakfast we went out to explore Antigua, beautiful city, we returned after 3 hours to discover someone entered my room (room 17) and stole $200 USD from my bag. This is especially troubling because the rooms have no windows outside and the door was locked so it had to be someone with a key. When we confronted the management about the theft they said they would view the security footage from the cameras on the premesis. Later that evening the lady at the front desk informed us that the manager didnāt see anyone entering the room, we asked to speak with the manager again and she said he didnāt want to talk about it. So we went to the police and filed a report. Later when the manager found out we spoke with the police he got upset and threatened to kick everyone out. Very unprofessional. Donāt stay here unless you want your stuff ripped off.

La quinta might not be the fanciest hotel in antigua but (because of that) it is very cheap compared to similar accommodations. It is very central which makes it easy staying there if you're travelling solo, you can easily go out at bars and restaurants and walk back alone. Very service minded staff!

We are studying Spanish in Antigua and this is one of our favourite places to stop for a delicious lunch. There are always 2 or 3 meal choices and we have never been disappointed! Friendly staff, great food, clean and quaint environment. A must if you are looking for good food at an affordable price. You don't have to worry about getting sick. Even the lettuce and salad are safe to eat here. We have not stayed overnight at the hostel, but they gave us a tour and the rooms are clean and include ensuite bathrooms if desired. Highly recommended!

I stayed here last night and it was one of the worst sleeps I've had in Guatemala. The bed was not very comfortable and the room was tiny and not very clean (mould in all of the corners). My fiancƩ was away the night I stayed and planned to join me the next night, however they wanted to charge me double when he joined for the exact same room... I was also the only person in the entire place which I didn't realize until the evening which was kind of creepy. It wasn't the worst hostel I've stayed in however you can definitely find better hostels in Antigua for the same price and even cheaper.

I stayed here one night when the hostel I had been staying at for a week was over booked. It's pricy, small rooms, poor circulation in rooms, the rooftop terrace is gated in and feels like jail, there are very few bathrooms for so many guest rooms, there's a strange window in bathroom so people walking down the hall can look in. Overall not impressed at all. Probably wouldn't stay here again unless there was no other option. Keep looking.

A very unsanitary and expensive hostel (if you book via booking.com) with poor-working facilities. My girlfriend was electrocuted in the shower!! The hostel website says that the rooms are cleaned every day, but in fact they don't clean the rooms at all.
