Fantastic oasis outside the main Antigua area but only a short walk into town. Anibal and Nathalia are extremely helpful with bookings (restaurants, taxis etc). The taxi arranged by our hotel in Lake Atitlan wanted to cancel because of Easter restrictions in Antigua but Posada del Angel rang them up a couple of times to reassure them that it was OK and how to avoid the restrictions. Breakfast is very good - wonderful to get it served outside on the rooftop. The whole place has a 'shabby chic' feel to it. We stayed in the top floor suite (great room with private sun terrace) but most rooms looked good. Some people used the swimming pool but it felt more ornamental than functional to us!! Por Que No is a really quirky restaurant very nearby and Sky Cafe has a rooftop bar for sunsets

We stayed two nights at the Posada and it was very nice. The staff is very welcoming and the hotel has a nice atmosphere with a beautiful terrace. The location is excellent. On the negative side the rooms are a bit dated and would need a renovation

Our 4-night stay in this lovely boutique hotel was a great start to our holiday in Guatemala. We were fortunate to be in the Rose Suite which was spacious and very comfortable with a luxurious jacuzzi in the bathroom and its own private roof terrace with wonderful views of the surrounding volcanoes. The hotel is in a very convenient part of the town and we were able to walk to all the main sites from there. We also felt safe going out to restaurants in the evening. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional, housekeeping was excellent and the breakfasts very good.

Charming small Boutique Hotel. We loved the rooftop terrance for breakfast, the food / coffee was excellent and it has a great view of 2 volcanoes. The room was clean and we had a nice view of the pool. (The Green room: it is close to the entrance so you do hear the coming and going of guests.) I made a mistake trying to modify my reservation online and when I realized what I had done I emailed the hotel immediately. The gentleman at the front desk responded right away, spoke very good english and was able to help me correct my reservation. We felt very safe and the hotel was in easy walking distance to the town center and lots of restaurants.

This hotel really grows on you, at first glance you think how old and dated it is but it genuinely does have a charm of its own. The staff are lovely and very helpful, it would have been 5 stars but little things could be improved on, for example a soap/shampoo tray in the shower so you don’t have to put them on floor and indeed a Perspex shower door rather than a n old curtain but these are details. It’s a charming quirky place that’s definitely worth visiting for a couple of days ( bit like Antigua itself!)

My son and I spent a week week here in December for cultural and language immersion. We took language lessons in the morning through Antigua's Network of Independent Spanish Teachers and spent afternoons and weekends exploring the region. Posada Del Angel was our home base. It is a comfortable small hotel in the center of Antigua, within easy walking distance of the main points of interest in the city. The hotel has interesting architectural style and great views of a dormant volcano from the second floor patio. Trip Advisor's photos reflect the appearance of the place well. What stood out and made this hotel special for us is the great service and hotel staff. Everyone was professional and attentive. Anibal made fast work of arranging ground transportation to and from the airport in Guatemala City and quickly resolved a last minute change to our arrival date. Whenever we returned to the hotel after exploring town, we were always greeted with a warm smile and kind word, and throughout our stay were shown the wonderful hospitality for which Guatemalans are known. The hotel is staffed 24/7, and because access is controlled it offers good privacy and security. Although this hotel is a bit more pricey than other options in Antigua, the service and comfort is excellent, and we won't hesitate to stay here again on our next Guatemala travel adventure. Thank you Anibal, Natalia, Enrique, Mari, Gabriella, Gloria and Simon for making our visit to Guatemala a great experience!

This small hotel is perfect in every way. We arrived at night and there was soft candlelight throughout. So romantic! Rooms are full of local crafts, art, pottery, etc. Rustic but elegant. And everyone who works there is kind and helpful. They serve a delicious breakfast on the roof and the view is breathtaking. No other meals served but they’ll get you wine or cocktails and that roof at night is even more magical. About a 10-15 minute walk to the main square, so nice and quiet yet right near everything. Right nearby is a great little mezcaleria, Cafe No Se, and the most charming hole in the wall restaurant, Por Que Non (so tiny reservations needed) as well the fancy Meson Panza Verde for cocktails. But this is the dreamiest place to stay!

My husband and I stayed 4 nights in August. We absolutely loved it. The staff is friendly and helpful. And I liked that the hotel is a few blocks away from the main square so it's very quiet. We stayed in the blue room. It was beautiful, spacious, and very clean. They cleaned our room every day, which you no longer get in the States. The cooked breakfasts were truly fantastic. They do need to do a better job letting people know that a cooked to order breakfast is included in the price!!! That's a selling point!! We ate on the rooftop patio every morning, and watched Fuego erupt while we had breakfast. Overall it was an absolutely delightful stay. We will return for sure. Highly recommended!!
