Certificate of Excellence
In 1979 UNESCO declared the colonial city of La Antigua Guatemala as a World Cultural Heritage Site turning it to a recognized treasure of exceptional value before the eyes of the world. In the XVII Century, the Convent of Santo Domingo was one of the largest in America and in 1773, the earthquake of Santa Marta almost totally destroyed it. In 1989, the project known as Casa Santo Domingo was developed with the primary objective of rescuing the vestiges of the Convent and Temple buried under tons of rubble. Hotel Museum Spa Casa Santo Domingo progressively emerged where each corner is a page lost in time that joins others to form a beautiful chapter of the great book of our history.

I had originally booked an airbnb in Antigua but had some difficulty with the property so ended up staying here. The place is absolutely stunning and surprising! You have no clue what you are walking into from the street. We attended a wedding here and it was very romantic

We usually stay at a different hotel, but decided to try some place different. We were not disappointed. The rooms were so cozy and comfortable, with a fireplace and a great view of the beautiful mountains and Volcanos. You are within walking distance to shops, beautiful

We really enjoyed our stay, staff was friendly, food was good, breakfast buffet was WONDERFUL, and it was such a unique property with stone walls, gardens, and volcano views all around. And macaws!! Bathrooms should be renovated as they are dated but otherwise a great first stop

We were pleased about everything at this hotel... in fact, we’re shocked by those few negative reviews! We had no problems at reception or with any of the services. The restaurant food was excellent, though the menu was a bit limited, and the service there was consistently

What does spa access entail?
Mr. William let me tell you that spa access is a new concept in hotel rooms as there are some rooms that include it in the rate.  And this means that the room has an access to the spa area without leaving it.

Are there laundry facilities in the hotel or nearby? Thank you.
As it turned out, we had laundry done at Casa Santo Domingo. Quite a few pieces laundered i.e. sock, shirts, underwear for $34 US which is quite reasonable for a hotel. All returned nicely folded, wrapped in tissue paper and placed in a basket. All in less than 24 hrs.
