Went to Guatemala with my family for more of a family reunion than a vacation/tourist. We had one night in Antigua and stayed at the Porta Hotel! The rooms were unbelievable (large and unique decor). A short walk to the Central Plaza. Concierge was very helpful: where the different banks were for currency exchange; arranged private transport from Antigua to...

This is the place to stay in Antigua. The hotel has two parts connected by an underground tunnel. I stayed in the section that is newer (built on the site of the hotel's former parking lot). Rooms have 500 series numbers. By far the best hotel I stayed at in Guatemala. Gorgeous Spanish colonial design to blend in with the...

We arrived last week and were given a one bed room for the four of us. It was quickly corrected with a apology letter. The service and food has been wonderful. The pool and gardens provide a nice break from our itinerary. We will definitely return on future visits.

Stayed here a few times and never been disappointed. Handy location for cruising (by foot) the delights of Antigua. Service suitably Guatemalan, so don't be in too much of a hurry but always friendly. Breakfast buffet is good and meals are OK but go explore! Nice outdoor pool, great for kids. Enjoy!!

I am a group leader for a team of 55 people. My experience has been very disappointing. Prior arrangements by email and personal visit were not honored. Service has been greatly lacking as well. It took two trips to the front desk and an additional phone call to get maintenance to unlock our bathroom door with a broke lock. I...
