Firstly, I have never written a negative review regarding a stay, however, this review is well deserved. I stayed at D'Leyenda for 2 nights in May, 2022. It is a gorgeous place, truly beautiful. The host was pleasant, and we chated over a beer (my treat). The host mentioned that there would be a party on the rooftop that evening, and that I was invited to attend it - he assured that it would end at a reasonable time. At 5:30am, I decided to leave my room and ask them to end the party, which included several people ringing the door, musicians singing italian songs, and a bevy of ladies rushing to the rooftop for the hot tub party. I can relate the arguments and shouting (in English and Spanish), but I don't have much space here. After 2 hours of "sleep," I pondered should I leave this lovely hotel. And as I was leaving the establishment to search for another place, the host was apologetic. He stated that this "was a rare party', and that he would reimburse me for that evening. With his assurance, I stayed the second night, which was peaceful. Upon leaving D'Leyenda, instead of receiving the reimbursement, I was told by the host that he "had no cash." I was then told that he would send the funds by Zelle. After returning home, and 5 emails with 2 different "managers", I have received nothing, and don't expect to at this point. I do hope that this was a rare issue, however it did affect my stay in a gorgeous city. If you stay there, please do so with this information in mind.…
The hotel is in a great location in Antigua - only a half a block from San Juan Church & city park (center of town). From the time that we arrived until the time that we left, the service was great. The staff was warm and cordial. We had to depart early the next morning for a volcano tour, and they had a box breakfast ready for us since it was before normal brerakfast hours. Upon our return from the volcano, the staff was friendly and accomodating even though we were checking out of the hotel. The room was cozy and nice. It was not fancy, but it was clean, comfortable, and met all of our needs. I would stay again in this hotel.
We stayed here for three nights and had a wonderful experience. It is located very close to the center square and within walking distance of many eateries! The customer service is fabulous and breakfast is a delight! It is a very safe location with on-site management 24 hours a day.
The location is the best in Antigua, mere feet from the central plaza and close to all sorts of restaurants. We enjoyed the fine breakfasts of toast and fresh fruit on the terrace. The staff was friendly, courteous and helpful at all times and they helped arrange shuttles to and from the airport. We would definitely return to the D'Leyenda!
Any time I travel to Antigua Guatemala my choice is this little Hotel. The people are great and the Jacuzzi on the roof is relaxing. They actually put bubbles in it and the view of the volcano is amazing. The central park is around the corner and the club next door can be noisy but by midnight they close down I actually go for a night cap there before going to bed.
This hotel is nice and centrally located. There is a bar next door that plays music late into the night. You can hear it in the rooms. The rooms with fireplaces are nice. All the rooms are spacious. The breakfast is good and the people are nice.
This hotel felt like a mid 18th century secret getaway. I stayed for two nights with my girlfriend. The room was comfortable and classy and THERE IS A HOT TUB ON THE ROOF. Warning: there is a bar next door and you can hear the crowds faintly in the room. All noises stopped at 11 or 12 and it never bothered me.
The four of us recently returned from our Girls Guatemala trip. We stayed at four different places over 8 days: 1. Atitlan Organics - Tzununa Lake Atitlan 2. Lush Hotel - San Marcos Lake Atitlan 3. Hotel Hobbitenengo - Antigua 4. D'Leyenda Hotel - Antigua Hotel D'Leyenda was our last hotel before we headed out early the next morning to Guatemala Airport. The room was very nice. Checkin was super easy, they allowed us to come in early in the morning way before check in time. Bathroom - Excellent hot showers. Beds - Super comfy Roof Top: Tables for views and hang out. There's a two person hot tub that is empty, if you want to use it, it will be $5 per person. Location is excellent, you are in the central area and you can pretty much walk to it all. It was safe, they always had their gate and a security person. Clean - the place was spotless. It's a small boutique hotel. I highly recommend it. Only negative: We asked the hotel front desk person for a shuttle to get to our 8am Flight out of Guatemala city. They said it would only be 45 minutes commute. Actually we nearly missed our flight. Traffic is terrible and the driver says it takes 2 - 3 hours to drive from Antigua to Guatemala Airport. Do not make the same mistake. We pretty much were stressed on the drive out assuming that we were not going to make our flight.…
I have stayed in 3 different hotels in Antigua and this was by far the best and the one that left an impression. This is a very small boutique hotel right in the center of town. You are in a street parallel to a Calle del Arco so everything is very close and perfect for the evenings. Plenty of restaurants and shopping around to choose from. The staff is the best and will do anything to help and couldn't thank them enough. Yes, there is a bar next door that can be loud in the weekend which didn't bother us at all, but some noise is expected in an old building if you want to be in the center of town.
This is a very charming hotel with wonderful service. It's beautifully decorated and the breakfast was delicious. Although there are only 6 rooms the hotel wasn't full when we were there but we were placed in the smallest one I think. We could barely move around - it would have been fine for 1 person. We were disappointed because the room next door was empty and much larger. However, we didn't realize it until we had unpacked. The staff couldn't do enough for us. The bar next door is irritating but we could still sleep.
