Wife and I stayed here for 4 nights. Centrally located, clean, friendly hostel with helpful staff! The breakfasts are top notch too. Bear in mind that the place is small so it gets a little noisy...if you're looking to go to bed early there might be better options in town. It's not a party hostel, but definitely has a young...

We loved El Hostal so much we came back a second time. This from someone who normally dislikes hostels. We had a private room which helped, but the dorms looked good too. Super friendly & helpful staff, good showers (hot, good pressure), clean bathrooms. Breakfast (included) is amazing. Seriously. Fun atmosphere that shuts down early for non-partiers...but Cafe No Se...

I've spent a few days in wonderful Antigua and stayed in El Hostal; defintely one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. They offer everything what a weary traveller needs after a long ride with a chickenbus or shuttle: comfortable dorms with good beds to sleep in, huge lockers, more than enough power outlets and hot showers. The price...

I only stayed at El Hostal for 8 hous, but the facility is very nice with a small but welcoming courtyard. The 7-bed dorm room was nice and newish looking. There was plenty of hot water in the showers. The front desk worker, Klaybert, spoke perfect English and helped me arrange my early morning transportation. And since I was leaving...

Antigua is meant to be experienced and this hostel made my stay even more memorable. It took me awhile to find this hostel, mostly due to not being familiar with how the street signs worked. With some help from my fellow traveler, I came into the this hostel greeted by a flowing indoor fountain in their quaint sunny courtyard. The...

Antigua was my first stop upon arriving in Guatemala for my first time and I stayed at El Hostal for four nights. Everything was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there! I stayed in the 7-bed mixed dorm as a solo traveler and it was perfect for what I was looking for. Here are some of the things I...

Couldn't think about any complaint. Clean dorms and showers, super-helpful and friendly staff and really relaxing atmosphere. Plus the excellent breakfast (around 8 options to choose from) is included. Maybe not the cheapest hostel but absolute value for money!!

We stopped here for breakfast on one of our days in Antigua. The service was fast and friendly. We had the eggs, served as ordered! The smoothies were also a great addition. Nice thing too about this hostel is it accepts credit cards which can give a better rate then the exchange places in Guatemala.

Dorms were fine, was a little shocked at the price of private rooms here. Staff were initially very friendly, but after we booked volcano tour elsewhere that changed. Hostel charges 200q for volcano tour while we got ours for 150 elsewhere. And it was exactly the same tour as other guests did the tour with us. It was similar for...
