Inexpensive, clean and friendly place in a nice neighborhood. You can stay in a dorm quite inexpensively or stay in one of two private rooms. Also very reasonable. I have stayed here at least 6 times and always feel relaxed and welcome. And can't say enough about the breakfast which is included in the price. You will meet lovely people...

I highly recommend this hostel! From the moment I stepped foot in this quaint little hostel I felt welcomed. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean, wifi is great, and the complimentary breakfast is delicious. The staff are not only incredibly helpful and accommodating but they treat you like family. I am sad to leave and if I'm ever back...

There is a reason this place was voted best hostel in Guatamala for 2016 & 2017. Seriously so surprised at how nice it was here, the showers are hot (finally), the beds are comfortable and the atmosphere is great. The staff are unbelievably friendly and accommodating and the breakfast... Don't even get me started on the breakfast (delicious). And all...

I was recommended this spot by a friend. It was a great find. After partying for an entire month it was nice to find a place with balance, nice beds, warm showers, and staff that you actually become friends with. Great location and a great atmosphere to pre party but then the bar shuts down at 10 in order to...

This hostel was incredibly clean and nice. The free breakfast is amazing- you get to choose from a menu what you would like. The breakfasts themselves are equivalent to about 5 or 6 US dollars, and they are completely included. This was a great bonus. The bathrooms and rooms were cleaned daily. Showers had plentiful hot water. The atmosphere of...

I am so glad I stumbled upon this incredible hostel. After hiking Volcan Acatenango, I was not prepared to go back to my so called "party hostel." After being shown what would be my bed equip with a curtain, private outlet, light, and massive cage for my things, it wasn't a question where I would be staying. The showers were...

I really love the breakfast and the healthy smoothies that you can get during the day. But most of all I loved the patience and help of Choco behind the reception. His shift already finished, but he still took his time to show me all the beautiful places of Guatemala. He knows the country very well and because of him...

Just brilliant. I stayed here in November. Very accommodating staff-friendly above and beyond the call of duty! The included breakfasts are delicious. If you're going to miss breakfast due to an early trip then they make up a sandwich for you to take with you. Not too party-party although plenty of fun and people to meet. The common area is...

Stayed here for a few days in April, the staff was wonderful and helped us book trips to Lake Atitlan and Mount Pacaya. We stayed in a private room, which was clean and comfortable. Food was great, and the courtyard in the middle was a great place to eat and talk to fellow travelers. We felt safe and really enjoyed...

It's the second time we are staying here in the more private quarters associated with El Hostal. Great location. Great breakfasts. Easy walk to everywhere in town including a great variety of restaurants. The management is great, friendly, wanting the experience to be easy and pleasant.
