Our family of three thoroughly enjoyed our time at the hotel. Situated in a quiet area of the city we enjoyed returning from our excursions to its relaxing surroundings. Once inside the front doors, the hotel opened out into a series of well-planned and ambient spaces. We had a small, corner room off a wonderful courtyard. Although small in size it was perfect and comfortable for our 4-night stay. A large sliding window looked out onto the courtyard allowing plenty of light and air to enter the room. Combined with air conditioning the room was fresh and pleasant throughout the stay. Our son made use of the seating areas doted about the hotel to rest and unwind after a day's outings. The hotel setting was conducive to quiet relaxation!
The breakfast menu was varied and the dishes delightful. The staff were exceptional and attentive. Would highly recommend to anyone!

I travel extensively and of all the hotels I stayed this was by far the friendliest service I have ever had. Everyone at the hotel went out of their way to ensure that we were satisfied with the service.

We loved having breakfast or lunch at their restaurant terraces, overlooking the wonderful views of La Antigua, the Volcan de Agua and Volcan de Fuego. The food is delicious, and the service is outstanding.

My room was a double bed suite with a large window overlooking one of their well-kept gardens (see picture). They keep it was pristine, with free aromatherapy and sweets daily. I also love the robes and slippers they provide.

I highly recommend this hotel. It’s all they advertise and more. At the end of my week, it felt like I was leaving friends or family. A special thanks to the wonderful restaurant team: Zolin Padilla, Alfredo Ordonez, Alejandra Garcia, Manuel Celada, and Lester Torre. I can’t wait to return to this wonderful place!

This is a colonial style hotel, much larger and spacious inside than its exterior suggests. Built round a courtyard with lovely terrace for breakfast, this hotel was comfortable and clean with very helpful and friendly staff. My only complaint was that the water wasn't hot enough in the shower. It is situated about a 15 minute walk from the main centre plaza and was quiet and peaceful.

We thought we had a great deal but upon arriving, our room was too small to even fit our modest luggage and two people. We requested a room large enough to fit our belongings and be able to walk to the door without tripping. We were told it would be an additional $120/night. Once we switched rooms, twice a day a terrible smell of sewage would seep from the drain the bathroom. We pleaded with them at the front desk to accommodate us with a more reasonable rate but they were unsympathetic. Often, the woman at the front desk just seemed annoyed to have to interact with us.

Everything was up-charged. Breakfast was included but you have to pay extra for anything…even a glass of orange juice.

Beware the Los Pasos. They are more interested in taking your money than providing a service. Very disappointing.

I give them 2 stars instead of 1 because the beds are very comfy. A big plus!

Beautiful historic hotel with amazing helpful service from checkin to checkout. Special requests were easily accommodated; as we needed free breakfast (yum!) delivered to room after running out of time from early morning walk, as well as arranging and rescheduling car for airport, we felt like VIPs! The fresh coconut pina coladas for sunset on the rooftop overlooking Fuego’s eruption will forever be a favorite memory for all. I would highly recommend staying here and with friends, family or a special loved one.

We stayed at this hotel for four nights. Very nice hotel, very well maintained, architecturally pleasing. Staff was friendly, efficient and helpful. Checkin and checkout were very quick. Very good breakfast with huge portions. You will not go hungry. Nice room and bathroom and a jetted tub. Smell of stagnant water when activating the jets. Problems with humidity (towels) and mildew on the walls. Lots of hot water, however water pressure was weak. The candy on the pillow was a nice touch. Very quiet on our first night, which gave us a good feeling. The second night there was a reception on top of our room with people yelling, screaming, dancing, foot stomping and making a lot of noise. The noise went on till midnight and the experience was an evening from hell. It made for a very short night. The next evening had music till nine, with guests still partying till ten. The morning saw a breakfast/prayer meeting at seven next door. The wedding the same night started to quiet down at ten with guests leaving at eleven. Staff can be expected to keep the noise down at seven even if they get everything ready. It seems strange that the hotel manager/operator was unaware that a huge reception would not cause an inconvenience for guests in the room below the event. One might expect some courtesy to advise guests and even offer a drink as compensation. There was absolutely no acknowledgement, we understand that these events are moneymakers for the hotel and that the needs of guests are less important, but we were not impressed. Once again a very good hotel, but bring ear plugs.

The Hotel Los Pasos Restaurant is extraordinary, with a cellar-type room where we had dinner, tasting a good wine.
Very good service and delicious food.
The menu was extraordinary based on red meat.
Also, the wine collection is very good.

It is impossible to overstate how wonderful our stay was at Los Pasos! The room was spotlessly clean, the location was ideal (close enough to walk to the central park area, but far enough that it was quiet), the decor is so pretty, the breakfasts are delicious and the staff makes you feel like family!! They were incredibly eager to help in any way possible. They even helped us order a pizza in for delivery when we couldn't figure out how to do it online. They took a personal interest in our travel plans (we were there for a service/mission trip) and were incredibly warm and friendly. We went from Los Pasos out to a "fancy" hotel in Panajachel and all of us wished we were back at Los Pasos. In the words of my son, "Even though [fancy hotel name] has the views and pretty gardens, I would rather be back at Los Pasos. There I felt like we were part of their family."

We booked this hotel online when our previously booked hotel was unacceptable. It was glorious - we had a delicious lunch in the restaurant while they got our room ready. We were on the second floor, facing an internal courtyard, so it was quiet, with excellent WiFi and a gorgeous new bathroom with loads of hot water.
