The Periwinkle Inn delivers wonderful Nantucket getaways in a great location with comfort, charm and personal attention. Three doors from the Historic Nantucket Whaling Museum. Only 3-4 blocks from Children's Beach. 1/2 mile to Jetties' Beach & beachside dining. Four small blocks from the Steamship Ferry & bicycle/car rentals. Close to downtown live theatre, movies & fine dining.
Don't arrive on a Monday - the innkeeper is 'off' and there is no one present to greet guests. We did not know this in advance and had to ask another guest how to get our key/room. First impressions! Our experience could have been so much better had we been made welcome upon arrival. An ironing board stored in the front entry area was one of the first things we viewed. Guest rooms have been recently refreshed/refurnished and ours was fine. The common area was a kitchenette with a few tables and chairs and felt a bit sterile to us. There was nowhere to relax, unwind with a glass of wine or book - except in our room or in the kitchenette. Location was great and in walking distance to everything in town. Overall, it was okay but not for the price.

Visited Labor Day weekend. This is a small B&B experience right in the heart of the town of Nantucket The innkeeper told us the entire establishment was updated last winter and it showed. -Al least from what I could see in our room and common spaces - updated and fresh finishes but keeping the charming Nantucket feel. We had a queen deluxe room and private bath - on the smaller side but what I expected based on the description. I think a couple of rooms might have shared bath but our reservation was very clear that ours had a private bath The breakfast is self serve but the innkeeper put everything out and we enjoyed fresh fruit , yogurt , cereal , pastries. And honestly with the in town location it’s a two minute walk to anything you could want. There is a nice backyard to enjoy breakfast or some wine in the afternoon 😀 The rooms also have new “mini splits” for AC which I loved - but at night we were able to open the windows and enjoy the breeze / run the fan mode ! Pics attached are the front of building and sky view from the backyard breakfast we had !…

Stayed in a single bed in the a room the size of a closet w slanted ceilings on third floor at the hotel. Share bathrooms. They charged $399 and it was not worth it even at $100 per night it would be expensive. The breakfast was not great stale bagels and English muffins. I have stayed here before because it was cheaper but would not recommend it for couples or a romantic get away. The location is convenient to town and other rooms are better.

Just stayed at the Periwinkle for two nights. It spoiled me. Best nights sleep I've had in a while. Very comfortable beds, awesome and friendly staff. And the mid day fresh baked chocolate chip cookies were to die for. Old inn with tons of charm. I recommend a room with private bath although the common area wash rooms were spotless as well. Met and chatted with a few older gents who were visiting their brother on Island. Had a great conversation in the kitchen area and a few hearty laughs. Perfect stay for a short work trip. Will be back.

Enjoyed our peace and quiet on the island. Gail and Sonia were more than accommodating and fun to talk with. The inn was immaculate and easy to walk to from the ferry and all shops down town. Been staying at the inn for 40 yrs

This is a very conveniently located, charming little inn. Not much of a breakfast (yogurts, fruits, muffins, coffee, etc.), but perhaps they have more options in non-pandemic times. The food was fine for me. (Speaking of the pandemic, I was worried for the health of the staff who were not wearing masks despite Covid cases soaring in Dec 2021.) Room was small but nice, with everything you need. Shower could be a tight squeeze for some. (Historic houses have their quirks, but that gives them character.) Located near the whaling museum, ferry pier, historic downtown, restaurants. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

My band performed at a wedding on Nantucket this past November and we all stayed at the Periwinkle Inn. In a word it was perfect. Comfortable, charming, and a great staff! It's also perfectly situated in town close to the ferry, restaurants and shops and anything you may need during your stay. You can't go wrong!

We just returned from a 2 night stay at the Periwinkle Inn. It was a perfect choice for us as we didn't bring a car over to the island. The Inn is located in the heart of the village, just one block from the shops and restaurants as well as being walking distance from the Steamship Ferry dock. We felt very safe at the Inn and they have several protocols in place to reduce exposure to COVID. We stayed in Room #1 which had a very comfortable King bed. The bathroom, although small, was well equipped and the shower was amazing as it had very soft water. I would highly recommend this Inn but consider going off season as we heard from the natives that the crowds are overwhelming there in the summer. One last thing, the chocolate chip cookies they put out every afternoon are delicious!!…

Our stay at the Periwinkle Inn over Labor Day weekend was amazing and quite memorable. The room was very cozy and comfortable and very clean. It was nice that it was freshened up every afternoon. We especially liked the location which was in the heart of Town and a block from the Whaling Museum, buses, restaurants and shops. We didn’t need a car at all and got by with the buses and by bicycles we rented. Nantucket is so quaint and special and we know we will return.
