Why would you go to Nantucket and not stay in an old Nantucket house? You can select your room when you book. We had room #2 just inside the front door. It had a side door on to a porch and was very comfortable. You could throw a stone to the information office, the Whaling Museum was very close and...

The descriptions of this property offered by the owners are pretty accurate. It is small and very centrally located. The rooms are small. There are few amenities. But if you don't need a lot of space, it is a pretty good value for what it is. There is no breakfast offered - you can make a cup of Keurig coffee,...

Was only there for one night and so enjoyed myself. The people were very friendly and super helpful. Really wanted me to enjoy my stay on the island. My ferry was leaving at a later time than check out so they let me store my luggage so that I could continue to explore.

This trip was over the Christmas Stroll weekend. The weather could not have been better and the entire trip was fantastic. Hawthorne House is just a couple blocks off of Main Street and convenient to all town restaurants and shops. The inn is very quaint and was quiet even though we were in town. The innkeeper was polite and did...

Comfortable, cozy, quaint. Centrally located, minutes' walk away from the grocery, bike rental, museum, or any of the restaurants. All you could ask for in such an interesting, historic town. Great stay.

My boyfriend and I recently visited Nantucket for the first time, and both really enjoyed staying at the Hawthorn House. Our room was clean with nice bedding, and had a good-sized balcony - perfect for morning coffee. Our room had the detached bathroom, which was no pain at all. I brought a robe, but they also provide them. The owners...

I recently stayed at Hawthorn House with a friend. First and foremost, the location is really fantastic, we loved being so close to everything that downtown Nantucket has to offer. We knew that there would be only vouchers for breakfast and we enjoyed using them at two of the three establishments for which they were valid. Our room was comfortable...

We wish to thank this reviewer for their kinds words and for also giving us an opportunity to reiterate what we have said in many previous responses to earlier reviewers concerns. Let me begin with Hawthorn House was built in 1849. Rooms built in the 19th century on Nantucket are considerably smaller than those built today. We include the square...

We just stayed 3 nights and highly recommend. The Cubbyhole at The Hawthorn House is more of a studio apartment and while we didn't take advantage of the stove, fridge or rest of the kitchen, it was great to have. There's an AC window unit which works well and was necessary during this trip. There's a bike rack to lock...

Thank You for your indepth review of Hawthorn House. It makes us all warm and fuzzy when our guests share their unsolicited positive experiences of Nantucket and Hawthorn House with fellow travelers. To your point about the chairs. Diane tried to put a love seat where you suggested but she couldn't find one small enough to allow the doors to clear...

Just returned from my second stay at Hawthorn House – and fell even more in love with it's history and quirkiness!! Mitch and Diane are wonderful hosts, offering helpful tips and local knowledge. Their home is filled with loads of curious and unique art, each piece with its own story, and more to discover behind every nook. I've stayed in...
