My wife and I, while spending a week on Cape Cod, decided to take the ferry to Nantucket and spend one night there. As this was last minute, I wasn’t sure as to the availability of a hotel room. I read about several hotels on Trip Advisor and then used the 76 Main website to book a single mid week night. This hotel is very efficient in communicating each step of the way from reservations, to confirmation, to check in readiness. Upon arrival, we were provided with all the info we needed about the amenities and then led to our room in a separate building to the rear of the main house. A beautiful courtyard with inviting patio furniture separates the two buildings. Our room was adequately sized for what we needed…but the ceilings are somewhat low. It was very clean and had a comfortable feel to it, not a cookie cutter hotel room. Cocktails were provided in the early evening and we met other guests in the courtyard who were enjoying their stay as well. In the morning, a light breakfast buffet was presented in the kitchen of the main house…overnight oatmeal, deviled eggs, pastries, etc. We enjoyed our stay very much and certainly will return next year. An added plus is that it is only a 7 minute walk from where the ferry docks.

Upon check-in we were greeted with friendly smiles and accommodating staff. Our room was spacious, CLEAN, and decorated beautifully. The breakfast which was grab and go due to COVID was delicious. We ate our breakfast in the garden of the hotel each morning, which was lovely. My daughter and I are gluten-free and the staff was more than accommodating by making us breakfast that we could eat and ENJOY! 76 Main’s location is prime! Within minutes you could be at a cafe enjoying a delicious meal or shopping at a unique boutique. We look forward to returning soon!

This was our second stay here. Beautiful and well kept property. Plenty of mixers for happy hour. Cookies are nice and moist. Breakfast is just enough if you are heading out for a larger lunch. The backyard is a bonus for cocktails before dinner. Very walkable to everything. Richard and his team are very kind and helpful.

Terrific location. In the middle of things, but enough out of the way to be quiet. Our King was nicely designed, fresh, clean and comfortable. The bathroom is super duper tiny though. Towels and linens are nice. One of the great things about staying in an old house is the great light from the lovely, old windows. The bed was softer than I like but comfortable enough. One of the bad things was the HVAC system is strange. It was very chilly so early in the season but apparently there was no heat available once the system has been switched to AC. The only thing we could do was shut off the AC. Although things weren't explained to us, we received some attitude from one of the staff - impatient as if we should already know how things work without being told. In truth, we should have been told without having to ask. There is a "happy hour" in the evening, but its just mixers (including sodas) in case you want to bring your own alcohol. A few nuts and chips are provided. Doesn't seem too much to have a glass of wine available or a few nips of alcohol. The entire place only holds 30 guests. There were only 6 adults there. That said, the place was lovely but it didn't feel all that welcoming.

Hi DawnousAtl, We're thrilled to hear that our iconic location and thoughtful design were a hit, and we appreciate the accolades of the housekeeping efforts! With that said, details and information are equally as important, and we sincerely apologize if we fell short in properly introducing you to all we have to offer. Your feedback is of great value as we open the doors for our spring and summer season, and we trust you will find an elevated experience the next time we see you. Until then. Take care!

Our visit to 76 Main St was fantastic. This was our first time at this inn and were extremely pleased from the start. The Inn is in great condition fully renovated and the staff was incredibly helpful and nice. The staff’s attention to detail from the variety of interesting continental breakfast offerings to the decorations at the hotel to the welcome gift bag, afternoon cookies and happy hour BYOB accompaniments (chips nuts sodas). We felt welcome and right at home and got to know every staff member. The outdoor patio, fire pit and beautiful Kwanza cherry tree shading the patio provided a beautiful relaxing atmosphere. We spent many hours just enjoying it. Richard the inn keeper couldn’t have been more helpful - he was wonderful. We’ll definitely back!

Never having been to Nantucket before I read the Trip Advisor reviews and selected 76 Main based on the glowing reviews. The location is fabulous! Only about a 5-10 minute walk from the Hy Line Ferry but beware if you have big /heavy bags. There are some cobblestones and it's somewhat up hill. The Inn did tell us all this on their website and said we could take a taxi. None available! End of season and Covid has created a lack of taxis/ubers!! Check in was just so/so. We traveled with another couple and both women went in to check us in and left the men with the bags down on the sidewalk. I was so excited to tell the man at reception that we had just stayed at another Lark property in Kennebunkport. He very sternly told me that Lark was only the management company and the Inn was owned by locals on the Island. Ok, he was gruff and not particularly welcoming. We were early for check in and he would text us when our rooms were ready. I asked about breakfast, etc and he said we'd learn all about that when we came back and got our keys. He then came outside and got our bags so our husbands didn't have to lug them up the steps. We had booked rooms in the annex behind the hotel. It was described as the new addition and was around a lovely fire table. We did get a text while we were at lunch and when we returned a young man at reception gave us our keys and said the bags were in the room. No further information was given. I had received an email while we were traveling with a bunch of information but did want to be refreshed. We learned on our check out day that chocolate chip cookies were available in the house--however not in the kitchen where we got breakfast or picked up wine glasses for BYOB happy hour. The room was good size--a very small bathroom.(I had read that about that in the reviews) . The ceiling seems low. Most distressing was how damp everything was. There was a combo air conditioner/heater on the wall and an exhaust fan in the bathroom but the marble floors never dried! They were always damp as was the area around the sink.. Our kleenex had been left on the side of the sink and it was all wet due to the moisture. I think the moisture on the floor is a real hazard and could cause someone to slip. We couldn't reuse towels as they never dried. The towels were very fluffy and thick but I found stains on both a hand and bath towel! I was so grossed out after my shower when I saw it after drying myself off! As mentioned before the fire pit outside the annex rooms a lovely place to meet but the couches were very stained. It was end of season and prices were sky high! We added an extra night (a Monday) a few months before we arrived and it was a higher price than Friday night! I asked about that and was told that was the rate. It was apparent that Covid has had an impact with getting staff. We could request new towels and incidentals but no housekeeping was available. They did have a dishwasher in the kitchen but the help was hand washing the dishes--without gloves on and placing them to dry on a wet dishtowel. As you can tell we were disappointed with our stay at 76 Main. We won't stay there again. It has many good things going for it but the Covid procedures seemed to be for their benefit and the air circulation in the annex rooms is a real problem! One other thing, one of the rooms in the annex had an unmade bed with towels on the floor and was left that way for many days. Since it was end of the season the staff told us they were leaving it that way and would clean it when they closed. At least they could have shut the blinds so other guests didn't have to walk by it every day. I expected a 5 star stay due to the price and the reviews--so disappointed!

Hi PeggyR697, Thanks for your feedback. It was a pleasure sharing our Nantucket homestay with you and we’re elated that you’ve joined us at other Lark properties before! They’re all over the country and, as you may know, each one has a different charm to it that makes it fun to compare and contrast. In going through your notes, it’s clear your end-of-season experience with us was not the 5-star experience we strive to extend to our guests, no matter the time of year. Details are everything when it comes to helping guests craft positive memories and things like not being properly walked through amenities or managing maintenance tasks are all snags we’re going to be having a conversation about on-site. Your comments are going to help us be better which we’re appreciative of. We also hope you might choose to give us another chance to impress. We’ll certainly seize it. Wishing you the best!

This is a great location if you don’t have a car. Take Hy-Line ferry (pay for the Captain’s View, great seats and you get to board first) get off the ferry and it is a straight shot up main with the hotel on the left about ten minutes. Great helpful staff and clean comfortable room. We had a superior king (room 1). Good quality toiletries. Breakfast is a sampling of several sweet breads, overnight oats, fruit, juice and coffee and other small items.

We stayed at 76 Main for our 2-day honeymoon. With Covid still looming, we decided to stay close to home & decided Nantucket was a perfect romantic destination for us. 76 Main had been recommended by my niece & it exceeded our expectations. I’ve never been to a hotel or B & B where there was so much attention to detail taken to make your visit so perfect. We were welcomed by a congratulatory note & a wonderful bottle of wine. They have a mobile concierge which was great when we were out & about, looking for recommendations or arranging for a taxi. Their staff were friendly, helpful, etc., & certainly went “beyond the call of duty” to make our stay so special. The breakfasts were spectacular & unique in all the right ways…from taste, presentation, variety, freshness of fruit & vegetables, etc. We had one small issue & the owners reached out personally to us & more than made up for our inconvenience. The location is perfect…walking distance from ferry & most restaurants, shops, attractions, etc. Will totally come back in the future.
