We stayed at White Elephant cottages. Pros: good amount of space, friendly staff, superb customer service, fantastic harbor views from the hotel restaurant, walking distance to town: we had a good time. Cons: super dated small bathroom / shower (old dirty chipped tiles for $1000/night?), no fans in the bathroom, no children’s bike, children’s beach is not really a beach: will not stay here again.

Dear Explore_Beach; Thank you for posting your review. The Garden Cottages are simple beach cottages. They are great for families, especially with smaller children, as they (with the exception of two units), are free-standing buildings. Children's beach is owned by the town, and a harbor beach. Super convenient, but not really for a whole day. We do offer shuttle service to Jetties Beach and to Steps Beach, both are great! I am glad you had a wonderful time overall, and we would love to see you again. Please note that the Spring and Fall are much more affordable times to come and visit the island as a whole, including our room rates. I am always happy to help steer anyone towards what feels right to them. Sincerely, Bettina Landt General Manager

Have food allergy and got glutend on night one. Horribly slow service, service trucks backing into alley next hotel every morning with backup horn blaring at 8 am. Can’t get ice after 11 pm. 1000 per night, get real. No turn down service.

Dear Ironman4621; Thank you for posting your review. I would love to know more detail about the 'glutening'. We work so hard to ensure our food sensitive guests are looked after and we do extensive training on the matter. Pertaining to turn down, this is something that we do offer in normal times, but as part of reducing the amount of times our staff goes in to occupied rooms, we have been advised that during Covid, we should not be going in to each room a second time during the evening with another team of housekeepers. Lets hope next year we can resume normal operations. I am absolutely available to you to see how we can remedy how you are feeling about your stay. As you can see, I am available to you anytime. 508 638 3418 or blandt@whiteelephantnantucket.com Sincerely, Bettina Landt General Manager

We booked the White Elephant last minute after a bad experience on the Cape. The Hotel was excellent and we will bring our whole family back for vacation. We had not traveled to Nantucket for years and forgot what a wonderful slice of paradise. The staff was gracious and accommodating. First-class place to stay on the island.

This was one of my many stays at this venue. It has been consistently good with modern and comfortable rooms. The staff is very accommodating, especially in the off-season when things are more relaxed and the staff/guest ratio is more favorable. It is located within walking distance to the harbor, ferry, restaurants and shopping.

Splendidly located in the centre of town and a short jaunt on the complimentary bikes (or hotel car if you prefer) to the beach, the WE Village is a relaxing haven from the hustle and bustle of the bars, shops and restaurants and a pared down luxurious retreat from a day on the beach or the water. We (dad and and 3 teenage girls) stayed in a two bed residence with 2 bathrooms and a kitchen/lounge. Quality furnishings and accoutrements throughout. It is pricey but if you have no complaints, maybe it’s worth it. See you next year.
