One of the last original B&B properties on the island (if I’m remembering the brochure correctly!), this beautifully decorated 1770s 3-story home is a 10-minute walk from the ferry in a quiet neighborhood. The grounds are lovely, with side and back yards to enjoy, relax on loungers, or sit at tables for a meal. We appreciated an early entry into our room as we had barely an hour to get ready for a wedding. Madelon met us and helped with getting our luggage upstairs, lingering a bit to give us a map, paperwork, and lunch suggestions. She said we could leave our luggage the next am, and when they cleaned, they would store the luggage for us. What a lovely offer! Our room, #2, was meticulously clean and so lovely. We enjoyed Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries in a very small bathroom with ingenious use of space!! The bed was comfortable with excellent linens. I suggest , if you’re sensitive to light, to bring a sleep mask. I wouldn’t want to spoil the beauty of the room with blackout curtains either, but the shade and lightweight white curtains do very little to make the room dark. Of course we had a delicious, homemade breakfast! Menus are hung on the door, and we made our selection from a hash brown casserole, blueberry scones, and yogurt parfaits. We had them all! Madelon herself brought the tray to our door for in-room dining, or we could take it to the sitting room right outside our door or outside. I don’t know if this arrangement is still because of Covid. Coffee, hot water, and iced water (with fruit) were available at 6:30am. A communal refrigerator and myriad dishes and glassware were available. We took one of Madelon’s walking suggestions through downtown and out to see older homes, dating to whaling times. We even walked just a mile to a beach house for a post-wedding celebration. So we were very pleased with the location. I’m not sure if public beach access is walkable from the B&B, but our room did come with beach towels (and outside shower). We highly recommended this property, which cost easily a third less than where the wedding guests stayed. We believe they missed out!!…
We travel to Nantucket every summer, & have stayed at a variety of bed and breakfasts, Cliff Lodge was my favorite for many reasons! Prior to arriving Medelon sent a detailed list of all the restaurants open during COVID, and did such a great job communicating with us. The Cliff Lodge is perfectly located downtown but has a beautiful private backyard where we could relax and enjoy the gardens. The rooms are beautifully decorated with crisp white linens from Matouk and beautiful artwork from a local gallery. The best part of the stay is the delicious homemade breakfast delivered to the room every morning! Madelon and Lisa your Inn surpassed all of our expectations. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we will be bACK!!!
The Inn is well managed and quite lovely. My room was very clean, bright and comfortable and met all of my needs. My breakfast bagel was delicious with a lovely sauce, creative! And delivered to my door! There is a great attention paid to detail with the accommodations.
Hands down the best B&B. Madelon was lovely and very helpful. The rooms are very cute and clean. It’s also a great location! We really enjoyed the amount of care that goes into this place and into the guests. Also ahhh the breakfast in bed, such a heat experience!
Beautiful, quaint bed and breakfast located near the heart of Nantucket. Easy to find and walk to shops and restaurants. Nice ambiance with outdoor space to just chill, sunbathe or read a book. Chris even cooked a nice small breakfast for us. I would definitely come back!
