Innkeeper Sharon makes you feel welcome before you even get to the island with her welcoming emails and text message. My questions were answered promptly! She goes above and beyond with her hospitality, from freshly baked cookies at 5:00 every afternoon to breakfast promptly served. She even helped deal with late arriving luggage with a cheery smile.

The Jonquil room had a comfortable bed with soft and firm pillow options and a sparkling bathroom.

The location is perfect, within walking distance of all the shops, restaurants, wharf, and the Brandt Point Lighthouse.

This place is highly recommended.

The Brass Lantern Inn was a fantastic place to stay for a week long vacation in Nantucket. The bed and breakfast was in a perfect location, with a beautiful outdoor patio area. We arrived around noon on Sunday, and put our luggage in an area that was designated to hold belongings until our room was ready. After having lunch on the island we received a text saying the room was ready and unlocked with the key inside; this made check-in a breeze. We stayed in the Barclay room, which was spacious as well as beautiful. The room itself maintained all of its original charm from the 1800s (when it was built), and a beautiful modern bathroom was attached. Everything was very nice and perfectly cleaned. We brought our dog along with us, and the staff made his stay just as special as ours!! Our room was equipped with a food and water bowl, a doggy beach towel, dog treats, and a dog bed for our furry family member! Housekeeping came every other day to refresh our room, which was perfect. During the day we would receive a text asking us to choose our breakfast for the next morning, along with what time we wanted it to be prepared. Breakfast was delicious, and we enjoyed it outside on the patio every morning to make it even more enjoyable. The rooms come with an air conditioner, which is a necessity, but we heard not always the case on the island. My only suggestion would be a larger bed, the queen size bed felt smaller than our queen at home for some reason. This could have been due to the labradoodle who felt the need to sleep on the bed with us, but it doesn’t change the fact that our stay was perfect in every way! We can’t wait to come back, and when we do we know exactly where we will be staying!

My family and I (2 adults and 2 small children) stayed at the Inn for 4 nights. We stayed in the Sconset Rose room, and it was perfection. Super spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean (I’m super critical over hotel cleanliness and I was impressed!) . The short walking distance to downtown is great, and the outside space is just as gorgeous as the inside. The breakfast system was so easy to use, just respond with your choices via a link sent by text, pick up at your chosen time in the morning. We were satisfied with the options available and found it to be filling and a safer way to do things in pandemic times. The beach towels available were a great little touch that we appreciated. I would absolutely stay here again when we return to the island.

Firstly, the location cant be beat. You are in the heart of the town and walks to and from anything are a delight.

The property is ok by average standards. But little things like the vase of flowers in the room where you arrived hadn’t been changed over the days we were there and the water grew murky. Not five stars. When we checked in later in the day, crumbs were on the table in the sitting area we had seen earlier. They were there a while. Not five stars.

The Mary Mitchell if teeny. Im 5’2 and my feet were off the murphy bed. If you slept lengthwise it was difficult to see the tv. The door opens into the sitting area so you hear and can be heard. Also, your window is onto the parking lot and a large tour group coming and going at odd hours under your window was disturbing. The air conditioner is noisy and often blowing at your head… finally the configuration is absurd with the sink and shower in your room and the toilet your view from the bed.

Finally breakfast was a huge disappointment. I will screenshot a menu. Many times there were mixups with me not getting the menu at all or another time being told i was to use the text from two days earlier? Not that I missed much.

I know we can do better

My wife and I stayed at the Brass Lantern for three nights while visiting our son on Nantucket. Our experience with Sharon, the Innkeeper, was first class starting with the reservation process through check-in and our actual stay. Sharon stayed in touch with us through text messages and even advised us that our room was ready for early check-in on day of arrival. Everything about the Inn and our room was perfect. The bed was very comfortable and the bedroom and bathroom were exceptionally clean. We also appreciated the extremely efficient on-line breakfast ordering process. The woman providing breakfast was very friendly and made sure that our requests were honored in a timely fashion. The breakfast items were delicious and ample. What a wonderful way to start the day! The location of the Inn is just a very short walk from the ferry slip and just steps to numerous shops and restaurants. We had a light lunch each day at the Corner Table, which is just a few blocks from the Inn. Nantucket is a wonderful place to visit and our stay was greatly enhanced by our experience at the Brass Lantern. We are looking forward to returning and will definitely be staying at the Brass Lantern on our next visit.

What an absolutely exceptional experience honeymooning at the Brass Lantern. We could not have had a better, more relaxing time! The attention to detail was truly outstanding. The breakfasts were delicious - we especially loved the homemade granola and pastries, fresh berries and delicious hot toast. Having the outdoor patio to eat breakfast and drink wine at night was especially wonderful (and felt very safe and socially distanced from a COVID perspective). The location was perfect- easy to walk to everything in town and yet also very quiet. We stayed in three rooms, all of which were beautifully and lovingly decorated, very clean and with incredibly comfortable beds and linens. Our favorite was Brant Point- we loved the amenities in the bathroom and the views of the harbor!! Jackie and Sharon treated us like family and took such wonderful care. It was so hard to leave and we can’t wait to return!

We had an awesome stay at the Brass Lantern Inn over Labor Day Weekend! The Inn is in a PERFECT location with less than a 2 minute walk to all of the restaurants and shops downtown. Sharon is a knowledgeable innkeeper who provided excellent dining and activity recommendations (renting bikes to explore the island was a great one!). Our room (Harmony) was a great size and had a very clean, newly renovated bathroom. The breakfast in the morning and afternoon tea were delicious. We recommend this Inn to everyone and look forward to our return visit in the near future!

We stayed in the Brant Point room on the top floor which had a view of the harbour. Sharon the innkeeper created a wonderful atmosphere with tea and fresh cookies every day at 5pm. As we were staying off season these were much appreciated as we came in from the cold to be greeted by the inviting smell. These could be enjoyed in the parlour which had a great selection of books to read. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate is available in here at any time of day.

You select your breakfast via a web form the previous evening and Sharon has this ready for you at your chosen time. A lovely selection of fruits, pastries, bagels and granola. I especially loved the brown sugar scone (very different to the scones we have in the UK!)

Highly recommend the Brass Lantern Inn for a charming Nantucket experience. Great location round the corner from the Whaling Museum and close to restaurants and bars in the town.

This was our first time staying at the Brass Lantern Inn. We had read so many great reviews about Sharon the Inn Keeper and they are all true. The Inn is beautifully updated while retaining it’s charm. Modern bathrooms with great water pressure made you look forward to a relaxing shower, comfortable beds and well kept grounds. Breakfast was delicious and Sharon was always helpful when suggesting services on the Island. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend the Brass Lantern .

We stayed 5 nights at the Brass Lantern Inn at the end of September. Our stay was very enjoyable. I loved the convenient location of the inn. It was about a block from the Whaling Museum. About 5 minute walk to the ferry. The room was so cute and quaint and very clean. Our room was upstairs and it looked like a lot of the rooms were upstairs. No elevator. We had a delicious breakfast each morning of different pastries, yogurts, oatmeal, toast, etc. You are able to pick what you want the evening before. The inn keeper, Sharon, was very nice and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again. We loved our time on Nantucket during the fall!
