We recently stayed at the Brass Lantern for an extended weekend getaway to Nantucket. We chose the Brass Lantern originally because it is pet friendly, but ended up not bringing our pup along after all. Sharon, the Innkeeper is truly remarkable. Every inch of this beautiful property is well kept. Our room, the Elizabeth Starbuck, was incredibly clean, comfy, and stocked with premium level amenities and linens. Breakfast each morning was really lovely. An efficient ordering system is used the night before and they provide you a number of options for pastries as well as a fruit and yogurt parfait with their excellent homemade granola. The seating both indoors and outdoors is perfect for reading, enjoying takeout or simply having some afternoon snacks and tea. They had everything we could have needed for to travel light on the ferry. From umbrellas, to beach towels, chairs, and a place to store your luggage after checkout, Sharon and her team have truly thought of everything. We will definitely be staying here again on our next Nantucket trip!!

We just finished staying at the Brass Lantern and loved every minute of it! Sharon was a wonderful inn keeper and treated me to some very nice flowers for our anniversary. Her homemade granola was delicious! Our room was ready early and was immaculate. The bed and bedding was so very comfortable. The location of the inn is very convenient to everything downtown. We will certainly stay here again on our next trip to Nantucket!

My family stayed one night in the family room in June. The morning at 7:20 am, I went downstairs to get breakfast, the inn keeper Sharon told me that because I did not order the night before, so she will not serve my family any breakfast. She said she sent me a text message 5pm the previous day to order breakfast. After showing her that no message was received on my phone on breakfast reservation, she said that was because my phone carrier blocked the message. I use Verizon and have not experienced any messages blocking by Verizon in the past. I asked she could accommodate us due to the situation, she said she could get us some breakfast and sent me a text message the order form, I received the message instantly suggesting no issues with my phone and it was her who did not sent us the breakfast reservation form in the first place. Around 8AM, I along with other guests of the hotel lined up to watch Sharon prepare our breakfast which including bowl of berries and pastry. There were 12 bowls of berries, all full except 4 which had berries barely covered the bottom, strikingly, all 4 of them are for my family. I thought that maybe she ran out of berries, however that is not true since there was a big serving bowl full of berries sitting on the table. Feeling a bit being mistreated, I asked her if we have more berries for our bowl. She said she didn't have time to fill our bowls with berries since she was so busy. How long does it take to fill the bowls full instead of a fourth full? After the guests from other room left with their bowls full of berries, I went back to Sharon to ask if she could get us more berries, she still said no. Then I asked her why she treated us differently from guests from other rooms, the answer was still that she was too busy. Then I told her that I have given her opportunities to fix the issues and going to write this in the review. Immediately, she handed me a bowl with berries. Too late, the impression is already made. We came to Nantucket for a relaxing experience, felt being mistreated was not a great way to start the day. We will not stay here next time in town and would not recommend others to stay either. The other hotels provide complimentary bicycles and professional services, which will make the Nantucket experience more pleasant.

This was our first time staying at the Brass Lantern Inn. We had read so many great reviews about Sharon the Inn Keeper and they are all true. The Inn is beautifully updated while retaining it’s charm. Modern bathrooms with great water pressure made you look forward to a relaxing shower, comfortable beds and well kept grounds. Breakfast was delicious and Sharon was always helpful when suggesting services on the Island. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend the Brass Lantern .

The service, breakfast options, cookies, and staff were amazing! Very helpful and friendly. Especially when weather wasn’t ideal, getting our room ready early was great. The touch free due to COVID is very easy and thoughtful.
