Classic 15 room Inn in the heart of Nantucket. Individual rooms and suites with private, adjoined or shared baths available, bear the names of whaling vessels that sailed from Nantucket over a century ago. Built in the late 1920's, our amazing summer Inn is ideal for large groups, families and weddings. Our signature continental breakfast is included and served either to your room, or on our beautiful patios and spacious gardens. We have beach towels umbrellas and chairs and parking available for our guests.

Our family (w/two teenagers) loved this place. Some websites classify it as a “hotel”, but it is really more like a large B & B. Some rooms have their own bathrooms, some do not. You can also book rooms to act as a “suite” if you have a family, or they have rooms that can be booked for individual singles. We had small refrigerators in our designated “suite” of rooms. But there are no microwaves or TVs in the rooms. Since this is an older building, the bathrooms have clawfoot tubs that have been modified into showers, and the sinks have separate faucets for “hot” and “cold.” The couple that runs this facility is great—very personable and flexible. And we loved their continental breakfasts outside in the yard.

Thank you for your nice review. We are perfectly set up for families , with our 2 bedroom suites. Every room has a small or medium refrigerator. Our yard has much room for spacing during breakfast and all day lounging :) ~

We've been going to Nantucket for many years now and we always stay at the lovely Barnacle Inn. Our most memorable visit was in 2012 when we decided the trip was going to be our wedding, so we eloped! Suzie and Phil were instrumental in helping us with the best week ever! Other guests helped too, which was just so amazing and made our special day all the better. Other than that trip, we're never disappointed with the quality of our room, the friendly staff, and Phil's homemade cookies that magically appear in the late afternoon. The location is easily walkable into the village for meals, shopping, or getting a bike to rent for touring the island and beaches. Suzie and Phil are the best kind of innkeepers; there when you need them, full of island knowledge, and helpful friendly hosts. We'll definitely keep up our tradition of staying at the Barnacle!

This was my second time staying at the Barnacle and not my last. Perfect location right off of Main Street and walking distance to everything in town. It's quiet and perfect for sleep. The staff is beyond nice, friendly and very attentive. They provide beach towels and the rooms have more than enough electric outlets and at the end of everyday there are delicious cookies put out for all guests. Thank you again for a terrific stay!
