Loved our stay here. Suzie and Phil went beyond expectations to make our stay wonderful. The purpose-built inn dating to 1922 has been owned by the Kiendl family since the 1950s and is full of N. England decor and charm--all without sacrificing practical comforts like solid window shades, comfortable beds, good a/c and other thoughtful attention to detail such as plenty of electrical outlets. Nothing was too much to ask of our hosts who made our stay thoroughly enjoyable. Breakfast is a particular callout. Phil's freshly baked muffins, yogurt, fruit and nice strong coffee enjoyed in the manicured front garden while listening to the distant boat horns and church bells. Great memories!

This is our “same time, next year” spot on Nantucket. The Inn is well situated about 3 minutes walking from the ferry and in the heart of town. This is the perfect spot to start all of your Nantucket excursions. The Inn is very well appointed, and comes with two island gems 💎owners Phil & Susie. Phil and Susie do a great job to making guests feel comfortable, and give great recommendations for guests. In the morning you can enjoy a beautiful breakfast in the garden, and have I mentioned the daily fresh baked cookies for guests? If you’re reading this just go ahead and book it! :)

We were very pleased and impressed with our recent weekend stay at The Barnacle Inn. The Inn is perfectly located off Main St in the heart of town, an easy walk to the ferry and just about anything else you can want. Though centrally located, the inn itself is set back from the street behind a magical front yard, furnished with lounge chairs and tables, providing privacy and a lovely place to enjoy the substantial and delicious breakfast that’s included with your room, or just hang out. The inn is immaculate, as was our room--one of the smaller queen-bedded rooms with a private bath. It was more than comfortable for two adults. We appreciated the attention to detail to provide the most comfort at this price point (rates seem to be on the more affordable end of the Nantucket spectrum): tons of towels in 4 different sizes, a magnifying mirror, good water pressure, shelves and other places to hold your stuff, extra blankets, full sized closet and dresser, good A/C, blackout shades. It was just very comfortable and well-thought-out. The décor is cozy, quaint, and casual. Our host, Suzie, was so lovely and kind. She welcomed us upon arrival, showed us to (and around) our room, and gave us just the right amount of attention. We had to deal with some last-minute hurricane-related changes to our trip, and she was super sympathetic and helpful. She even contacted us about something we accidently left in the room, and then mailed it back to us. That kind of personal touch really goes above and beyond and is really appreciated. We look forward to a return visit.

Given the average high prices on Nantucket, The Barnacle Inn is a good stop. The location, only few blocks from the center of town, is excellent. Its garden, set back, and design give an excellent atmosphere: calm, comfortable, warm, welcoming. However, as an "inn," one anticipates at least a good breakfast. On this aspect, it is lacking. Between 8:30-930: juice, fruit, a roll and small junk of sweet bread or croissant, small yogurt, small piece of cheese, a bit of butter, coffee/tea. More of a snack than breakfast. Served outside; not sure what happens if the weather turns. Coffee for early risers would have been nice, needed to ask for a refill. Rooms are clean, relatively small, nicely adorned, but spartan (no radio, TV, clock). Very good wi-fi: download speeds capable of supporting Netflix. Staff and owner are first rate: helpful, friendly, charming. Books in the lobby as well as one TV; nothing more.

Thank you for your kind review. We are quite affordable compared to the majority of the Inns on Nantucket. Most guests LOVE the LOCATION! Our breakfasts are raved about from many. Always fresh and made with love. Our TV in the front is large, and available for all to use. It is so appreciated by many that enjoy a calm room with out TV in the bedrooms. EXCELLENT WIFI. Thank you...

We had a great stay at the Barnacle Inn. Suzie always made sure we were comfortable and even offered to switch our rooms for a larger bed. Our breakfast in the gardens were very peaceful and delicious. The inn was in a perfect location to downtown and close to everything. Thank you for making our stay wonderful while we visited the island. We will definitely recommend the inn to all our family and friends. Dave and Kimmi Mower
