This hotel has a great location and the best staff! We stayed 3 night in the Broad Suite #12 after our Veranda hotel (originally reserved )caught fire. Evan greeted us and was so nice! The room was beautiful, bed comfy! The location -best :you are across from visitors center and the Wave bus which is excellent! Only minus was no breakfast-I was really looking forward to that being included. They do have coffee every morning. I was hesitant to stay here since there had not been recent reviews but happy we chose this hotel.

Prefacing this by saying we stayed at two places on our most recent trip to Nantucket and Greydon House has the potential to move up to a four or a five once it buttons up a few more things. Walking from the high-speed ferry we were thrilled to reach Greydon House so quickly. Check in was quick and our room was ready early and we were off to explore after checking in. The next morning we were expecting the coffee to be ready by 7:00 as told, it was closer to 7:25 when it was ready. Also our air conditioning/thermostat was not working and we let them know so they could work on it while we were gone this next day. Long story short it took way longer than expected and the work was not what we would have expected in a top notch hotel in Nantucket. It did eventually get fixed this same day. We brought up the scenario to GM Garison and he did make an adjustment for us. Garison has a world of high end hotel experience and we wish him the best in the continuing reimagining of the Greydon House. There is no common area and a small porch, so no breakfast offered and if the two porch chairs are in use there is no where else outside of your room to relax and chill. A well known Italian restaurant is connected to Greydon House, our suggestion is to host a continental breakfast there 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and then leave a portion of it as a gathering space until a few hours before the restaurant opens. They are trying for sure and this is what counts as I expect the experience to continue to improve.

Hi Joe, nice to connect with you again. We've already discussed the issues outlined in your review, and unfortunately, sometimes maintenance issues do happen. We were happy that we were able to resolve it quickly. The restaurant space is always available to our guests when they aren't in service, and there is a porch outside that is a great spot to people watch with much more seating! Hopefully when you are back next we can ensure you are able to enjoy all that the Greydon House has to offer!

Color me a smidgen disappointed w/ the experience. The hotel is quite conveniently situated for a first-time visitor, near ferry & in heart of town. The room was small, with no chairs. They do a lot w/ the small space, and decor is quite attractive, but a chair in lieu of the lg tv would be a positive chg. What is more, there’s no common area indoor or outdoor to relax, but for 2 chairs rt in front of the entrance. Front desk staff seemed inexperienced& were luke-warm…not what one expects from a hotel charging $750/nt. The mgr (I think?) on other hand was quite outgoing/friendly. In our room & in the hallways, there were rug pads protruding from under rugs…a bit tacky. There was someone muttering loudly in the hallway for a while our first nt & considerable noise every night; we both slept poorly all nights. I found the bathroom to be worn. The adjoining bar is rather pleasant, just a bit difficult to get a spot—go early. On the whole, I didn’t think GH was a good value, though nothing about the stay was so unpleasant to detract at all from a delightful wknd. I’d look elsewhere should I return to Nanny T.

All hotels have their quirks, some resulting from the building structures and some from management decisions. Our six night stay in room 12 (the Broad Suite) had very few quirks, but it did have a noise problem on the Friday and Saturday nights when the amplified base noise from a nearby club made sleep almost impossible fro 10 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. The front desk offered earplugs! The suite was spacious and the bathroom a good size. The large bed was very comfortable, although on getting out on one side care has to be taken by tall people not to hit their head on the low sloping roof structure. That same sloping roof resulted in the bathroom mirror being knee high to a grasshopper, making shaving and make up less than easy. There was no separate dressing table area for women applying makeup. The closet was a good size and well set out. The walk in shower (but no bath) had good pressure of hot water and the towels were fluffy. Small quibbles were the lack of an in room coffee maker (there was a refrigerator and a safe) and the apparent lack of in-room stationery to write letters (maybe in today’s text and email world few do that?) and note pads. Coffee was available in the lobby from 07:00. We found the front desk staff to be very helpful and friendly - but there is no common area in the hotel so once there one had to go straight to ones room. Even the bar of the adjoining restaurant was not readily available for a cocktail or night cap.

I rarely take time to write a review, but my husband and I both agreed we HAD to for the Greydon House. We stayed here for five nights and it was phenomenal from top to bottom. The front desk, especially Kate, was extremely welcoming, and attentive to our needs. I broke my ankle right before our arrival and I needed a little more attention, and the entire staff bent over backwards to make our stay enjoyable. That included more pillows to prop my ankle up, allowing us to use a lift that is for the restaurant to go up and down the stairs. The room was fantastic, room 16, a deluxe king. The bathroom was long enough and had a very nice view of the road from the bathroom. The shower is next level, and the water pressure could be changed at anytime.

I do not usually take the time to write a review( I should) but when I do you can be assured that it made THAT much of an impression on me to do it. I was greeted by Kate at the front desk with a very impressionable smile and honest eyes. She took the time to show me to my room, gave me a list of the eating places that actually were open ( because of COVID times) She was apologetic that their rest wasnt open and made sure I knew where I was going. She was there after I returned every day to m y room ( i was there on business). I know that I was kind of a pain with my questions but she went OUT OF HER way to make me comfortable and I asked If I could have a few extra pillows and where I could get Ice for my room, and each night she personally went and got me some and acted like she wasnt bothered by my requests at all. I had a wonderful time, my room was wonderful, clean, updated, everything worked and and it was very quiet, I will give the hotel and KATE a solid 5 star review and will look forward to staying there again, Marc R Ledoux Sr. Voluntown Connecticut

I stayed here for the past 3 days. I was in a petite queen on the third floor (room 21) and my dad was in a standard queen on the first floor - room 8, I believe. We both thought that my somewhat smaller room was actually better laid out. I had a much larger shower than he did. Anyway, point being, though, we both greatly enjoyed our stays here. The hotel is stylish and I liked the decor greatly - very stately. Room well made up and I loved the shower with the tiles on the wall - just something different and unique. Linens and towels all comfortable. Front desk staff were all super nice and accommodating with good recommendations for dinner, etc, during what is a low period on ACK. Good Covid protocols (masking) throughout. Some nits - the toiletries are acqua di parma which is great. one thing - it seemed like housekeeping mistook the body lotion for the conditioner, and I did not have a conditioner in my room. My dad did, though. small mistake. Also, they didnt tell us at check in that if we wanted maid service each day we had to tell them each day as it's covid times. Which is fine, just tell at check in. We ate at the restaurant Via Mare one night - it was excellent. Will provide a separate review of that. Overall, though, the hotel is well-located in the center of town, it's comfortable, and I liked the style. I'd definitely stay here again.

Other than being on the waterfront you can't get a better location in the town of Nantucket that Greydon House, it's literally in the heart of town. The building is charmingly old, but with fresh super clean rooms. The bathroom had new old-style fixtures and the shower was large, spotlessly clean and had high water pressure. The bed linens were top grade, there was a safe, mini fridge and all the niceties. That said, the best thing about Greydon House was the two gentlement, Garrison and Evan, who manned the from desk. They were incredibly cheerful and helpful and really made us feel welcome dispite the fact we were only staying one night. We checked our bags early and Garrison called me when the room was ready and had our bags already in the room when we arrived. After checkout the next day Evan cheerfully checked our bags again unilll the ferry left. We will definitely be back here.

Can't praise this hotel, the staff (Tracy, Evan and Garrison) enough. Made my trip and overall island experience unforgettable. I will definitely be staying at the Greydon House when I return for Stroll, July 4 and a Summer trip. The hotel and the rooms were beautifully decorated and designed, and the hotel itself is located in a very central part of the town. Walking distance to all the restaurants and shopping. The staff of the hotel was readily available to help with reservations, transportation and overall tips and ideas for our week-long getaway. Nantucket is a magical and special place itself, but our experience with Greydon House only enhanced it.

My wife and I stayed at The Greydon House for three nights in August '20 for our babymoon. We had high expectations and the hotel far exceeded them. The house has a classic yet sheek modern feel to it. We also appreciated the thoroughness of all Covid-related safety precautions. There were so many small details that the Staff never overlooked: waters in our fridge each morning, sanitizer as part of the toiletries, a WiFi speaker to bring to the beach, and complimentary beach chairs and towels, to name a few. But the Staff was what made it. Garison and his Team were incredibly thoughtful to me and my wife. They helped us in a myriad of ways, the most important being the recommendations for the island and what we wanted our vacation to be about. I applaud the entire hotel, and will recommend The Greydon House to my friends and family. We might have another just to find an excuse to come back!
