Something is quite strange with Park Hotel. I visit Skopje around 4 times a year and this hotel is my stop every single time, but not because its a 5 star hotel but its just a min away from my office here at Skopje.

But, when you are out from office and come to hotel to get some rest, things may not work the way you hoped. It could be cleaner than it is. It would be nice to lock the door from inside so cleaning does not bump inside the room and there could be a working TV.

I mean, it could easily be considered that I have one room its just me, but no, we have 10+ rooms and only one of us have proper working remote and TV. If you are planning to turn that thing on and use the strange remote; make sure have some antidepressant with you. I feel TV is kept in room just to comply with requirements of 5 star, otherwise hotel don't care that they have a functional operating system on the TV.

Breakfast is good, to many choices but please, decrease the amount of oil. The fried egg looks like stir fried.

A large and relatively new hotel 1 km from the centre of Skopje. This multistorey hotel is across from a major sporting stadium. The hotel is nicely furnished and quite plush. The relatively slow lift took us up to our room on the third level where we had a room that looked onto the side wall of the stadium. Unless you are a smoker, you probably wouldn’t use this balcony. The room was quite large, being longer than anticipated. The room has an incredibly well-stocked minibar and other items for purchase on the coffee table and on some shelving. The bathroom is a large concrete structure with a glass wall facing the bedroom. The drainage from the shower was not fabulous and the water did tend to stream across the bathroom floor. The air conditioning worked well and the double glazing on the windows kept all outside noise out. The beds were very comfortable with quality linen and pillows. The room decor was semi industrial, with lots of concrete surfaces. The hotel does have a restaurant on premises, but we walked to a nearby local pub. The walk is through an extensive car park and access roads, which are not particularly well lit at night. The breakfast was fairly standard, but all items were fresh and replenished frequently. There is a spa centre attached to this hotel, and it seem to be relatively popular. There is a walking path at the front of the hotel that takes you along the river towards the old town. If I was to visit this city in the future, I would stay there again.

Stayed on business for five nights and I was overall suitably impressed by the hotel.

It is modern and comfortable and my room was large and stylish. There are some nice design touches like the bright red Smeg fridge, some funky furniture and a big shower/wet room, which was amazing! However, the tap on the sink did come off in my hand!

It has probably one of the best hotel gyms I have seen, with lots of modern kit and equipment and clean, airy workout areas.

Breakfast was really good and the food in the main restaurant was also excellent.

There are a couple of bars, which again, are comfortable and modern, with a nice atmosphere. Good selection of drinks and reasonably priced for an upscale hotel.

The immediate surroundings look a bit drab, right next to the sports stadium, but the City Park is within a couple of minutes walk and is a pleasant area and it is possible to walk in an easterly direction through the park for 10 minutes or so, to a more lively part of town, with a selection of bars and restaurants.
Incidentally, eating out and drinking is not expensive at all. We found several restaurants serving tomahawk steaks for £20 - £25 and a large beer is less than £2.

It is a short taxi ride or a 25 minute walk in the other direction, towards the central city locations and the Old Bazaar, which are worth visiting.
The city centre is surprisingly lively and picturesque, with the Vardar River running through the middle. The Old Bazaar is an interesting place, with it's old, narrow streets, shops, markets, restaurants and bars.
In summary, a very good, comfortable and modern hotel, which I would definitely recommend for a stay in Skopje.

We stayed two times at this hotel: once 8 days, once 1 night.

Cleaning is terrible: there was dust, hairs and even a sigaret on the floor of our room. After 8 days it was still there.

The second booking they put us in a cheap standard room, even though we booked the De Lux (Star) Suite with River view room. When we asked for another room, they said that we did only pay for a standard room, even though my booking conformation clearly stated that we'd booked the 'De Lux (Star) Suite with River view'. Essentially, they called us a liar! Only after I insisted, they gave us the room we booked.

The first booking they gave us a room with no working electricity, lights, WIFI, and TV. In stead of saying sorry and giving us a working room, they send a technician, who did not fix anything. At the end of the day we still had no light in the bad room, no electricity, etc. When we called reception, they did did not pick up the phone, even though there were two persons at the reception, doing nothing. When I went down, they said that they could do nothing for us. Only when I refused to leave, because it is not acceptable for the high price we paid, they reluctantly gave us another room. They never did say sorry for the inconvenience.

The rooms are not soundproof, as advertised. Rooms with a river view are above the hotel bar, which has loud music each evening. They regularly have parties and weddings in the bar, at which they pump up the music so loud, that you have to shout to talk with each other, let alone be able to sleep.

Towels are also a problem in this hotel. You would expect to get new towels each day. However, in the 9 nights total that we staid, we only once got towels for 2 persons. Most of the times we did just get 1 towel or no towel at all.

They advertise as a 5 star hotel, but most 2 star hotels are better.

Sunday night DJ played until midnight only one floor below our room and then on Tuesday a party with multiple live bands played from 7pm until 04:30 in the morning!! No sleep for many business people like myself and no compensation of any kind from the hotel for the unreal situation.
Breakfast an iffy prospect as servers wandered around with no sense of urgency as many of the buffet choices were often empty, no silverware, out of coffee, etc.
Some staff seemed trained and tried to help, others had no clue what they were doing. Room safe was not secured and someone could easily walk out of the room with it in a bag, no peephole in the door and unable to lock the door from the inside. Curtains fell off the windows if you opened them.
This hotel urgently needs some serious management oversight.

Reception staff was amazing, breakfast was very good especially the fact that i could choose from a various menu. I lost my charger and they contacted me by mail. Kudos.

Location is very peaceful and yet close to downtown, just a 10 minute walk from the square or old bazaar, very safe area. Morning run by the river or stretching at the gym is the best way to start the day...

This is a merely 2-star hotel experience, do not pay for this hotel as the experience is really way far from a 5-star hotel.

1. Poor hotel maintenance
—— bedside lamp not working
—— ceiling lightbulb not working
—— worn out room

2. Poor noise cancellation
—— Water rushing down the pipes
—— Could hear guests clearly
—— Could hear hotel operations noises (music and etc)

3. Dirty room
—— dirty floor
—— dusty table & shelves

4. Poor customer service
—— I had to follow up on my request status myself
—— the staff doesn’t take the initiative to revert with updates

5. Spa service
—— selected services are available

I chose this hotel because I wanted to unwind and really relax myself. Ended up, I am even more stressed out with all sort of noise pollutions!

This hotel is way below the standard of a 5*, even in local terms. On the surface, the room appeared to be superb value; huge with plenty of wardrobe space. After looking around, however, noticed that the floor was full of dust and the bathroom was quite dirty. Mentioned this to reception but the room wasn’t cleaned at all that day, except for emptying an ashtray which they then left in the bathroom! In addition, the water was not particularly hot and the a/c not working well. They kindly gave us a fan to deal with the latter problem.

At breakfast time there was no customer service. Cutlery and crockery was not replaced so had to find it myself from other tables. The cups did not match the saucers which is not a big deal but still some attention to detail should be given in hotel of this supposed standard. The food was overall cold and unappealing.

People staying here should be aware that the terrace bar plays music until after midnight so very noisy.

Generally, a disappointing experience and wish we’d stayed at the Marriott which would also have been more convenient for sightseeing.

- Negatives:

Paid for the most expensive room, but put in a smaller (lower rate) room on the sly as they didn't have it available. They then refused to refund the rate and the manager was extremely rude.

Spa pool closed for full period of stay.

Shower in room freezing for one day, then only just above cold during other days.

Air Conditioning makes a really loud noise for a minute when you put your key card into the card slot.

Safe didn't work.

- Positives

Great central location, right by the football stadium.

Modern decor

Friendly bar staff and well priced drinks/food

Park Hotel&Spa is located in city park right in the downtown. Everything is within walking distance.
The rooms are spacious and clean.
Due to the Coronavirus, breakfast was ordered from a menu, which had a lot off choices.
All the staff members were outstanding. There are a few that went above our expectation, which I would like to mention.
Reception, arranged for our chauffeur and made never ending calls to the US Embassy.
Waiters who gave us impeccable service and never got tired of our many questions.
I would defiantly recommend Park Hotel&Spa.
