SO DIFFICULT TO BOOK AND CANCEL I had difficulty booking the room end of Feb. I wanted to tag on an extra night stay to a wedding rate and they could not guarantee that I would be in the same room for all 3 nights. WHAT? I had no problem paying the full rate one night and the wedding rate the next 2 nights but by no means did I see the need to change rooms with checkout at 11 and checkin at 4 - so I'd be out of a room during the timeframe. I went ahead and paid the full non-wedding rate just to ensure I got the same room for all 3 nights. That's crazy. They almost lost my business but I booked anyway. That should have been the red flag.... Reservations made end of Feb for early Apr stay. Called Mar 22 to cancel due to COVID-19. Called the number in the confirmation email received when booked and transferred - to I guess the cancellation desk. The cancellation phone staff did not address satisfactory the fact that I hadn't received any confirmation via email from them and/or text from credit card company that a cancellation occurred and/or refund was given. She offered to transfer me to the front desk because she said my credit card was never charged when I booked. WHAT??? Not sure how front desk staff can assist with a cancellation/refund when it was the front desk that transferred me to her. She just wanted to transfer me back to the front desk. When I asked to speak to a manager and/or supervisor Tiffany stated she was the manager. My credit card was changed but she says it wasn't. I have confirmed on my credit card statement it was charged. I suspect I will have to contact the credit card company and dispute the credit card charge even though I canceled well ahead of the 48 hour prior to arrival cancellation policy.

My wife and I stayed at the Maryland Inn, and it was a very nice stay. Room was very clean and comfortable. The Inn itself was clean and decorated with beautiful antique furniture. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. I was kind of hoping to see a ghost or two,but did not. Other than that ,it was a very nice stay. We will stay there again. Glenn and Lisa Pepper

We had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel for Valentine Day last month. We have stayed at this hotel several times and it just keeps getting better for us . The location is the best in Annapolis with such easy access to all the great places in town - so very easy to navigate the streets and get around by walking everywhere - so many great restaurants and historic landmarks all over town. What we like the most about this hotel is the staff and the perfect upkeep and cleanliness of the entire facility. We especially are so grateful to Jax at Front Desk, who always greets us so graciously and is willing to do everything to make our stay perfect. Jax is a lovely young lady who is so professional and efficient and we appreciate her helpfulness each time we come here. Besides the fact that we love this hotel, it is primarily the staff that makes us wish to return here each time we come to Annapolis. We had the pleasure of meeting new manager, Jessica, a few trips back and she was also so helpful and easy to work with. Also must mention Dwayne of Valet Staff because he is also part of what makes this hotel such a special place - always so welcoming when we arrive and he too does so much to help us during our stay Each time we have left this loction to head back home we can"t wait to come back for another stay. It is truly that good and so glad we discovered Calvert House a long time ago. Thanks to all who make our stays such a wonderful experience each and every time,

I rarely write online reviews, but felt the need to do so in this instance, This review is not being written in a mean-spirited way, but honestly so others can see the experience that I had prior to booking here. The room was clean, but in need of repair. This morning, as I stepped into the bathroom, a large tile came loose from the floor, almost causing me to trip. The electrical outlets on the desk and end tables worked sometime and sometime not. The coffee maker didn’t work. The iron had a broken electrical cord and was very difficult to use. Room service did not replenish full suite of towels, water, etc.; each day they forgot to replace some item. One day, room service was still cleaning adjacent rooms and the hallway at 5pm, which resulted in doors being loudly slammed repeatedly by the service staff, to the point myself and others were peeking out of their room doors to see what was going on. Of special note, the WiFi connection is poor and reminded me of the old dial-up days of the late 1990’s. A friend in another room and I finally gave up trying to get any work emails done on our computers, due to the poor and extremely slow connection. Worst WiFi connection I’ve ever had in any hotel...ever. Perhaps my experience was unique, but it was subpar and I’d not stay here again.

Dear mikevH9477ZH, thank you for your review and feedback. I hope you called the desk about the room issues so they could be addressed. I am sincerely sorry about the housekeeping staff and not replenishing the items daily, we are better than this. As for the wifi, we understand your frustration and are working to make it better, again my sincere apologies for these issues. I hope you give us another try in the future. Warm Regards, Daryl

Colonial atmosphere. The room and bed were very comfortable with modern, updated amenities. Conference facilities were excellent for a workshop. Walking distance to the Naval Academy and numerous restaurants.
