At check in the person working the desk says we have a room reserved on the first floor. Ask for the second floor as this is a hotel where you hear everyone walking, coughing etc. When walking in the Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites occupied rooms are not spaced apart like other hotels during Covid-19. Everyone is in rooms beside each other. Masks are supposed to be worn in public spaces. The hotel is old, dirty and needs renovations. There was a leak in the room above the bed. Front desk was informed and no offer to change to a different room was offered and no they do not give a refund. Front desk informs you there is no housekeeping during COVID-19 so if you need clean towels, dry sheets or pillows you have to get them at the front desk. Breakfast is cold blueberry smashed muffins, expired yogurt and brown water that is supposed to be coffee. Find another place to stay in Annapolis.…
Typical Holiday Inn Express. Nice location, close to numerous malls, restaurants, and short drive to old Towne. Hotel was clean. Appeared as they took sanitary precautions. Breakfast was changed to brown back. Basically, continental items you asked for and they packed up for you. Bed was comfortable and pillows were not the typical marshmallow's. They do not offer daily linen service, however, you make request items as needed. Dave at front desk was very helpful, filled us in on all the places to eat and see. Only issue is getting in an out of the hotel can be slightly difficult at time as it's location prevents you from turning left out of parking lot. However, mall area you can pull into to pull U-turn. Would stay again.
The Holiday Inn in Annapolis is great! I stayed here during COVID-19 and this hotel was amazing. Despite the difficult times, the only noticeable difference was that they didn't serve a buffet breakfast. They had signs posted everywhere to help remind people to socially distance and the lobby and room were both very clean. The staff is very nice and super friendly. The check-in process was easy and they always waved or said hello when I was entering or leaving the hotel. In particular the evening manager was super friendly and always made sure to ask how I was and if the room was okay! As another plus, its only a few minute drive to downtown and walking distance to the Annapolis Townecenter for dinner. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone needing a place to stay!
My second stay at this hotel. I chose it because its close to the Naval Academy. My first visit was horrible. The room was not clean and the bathroom was so small the dry/clean towels actually hang inside the shower. This was during I-day at the Naval Academy and things are very busy so i thought I'd give it another shot. I checked in at 2:30am and was gone by 10:30am. The room was filthy. During the time of Covid 19 I would think they would take extra care in cleaning the rooms, I was wrong. There was what looked like macaroni and cheese on the floor next to the dresser, candy wrapper on the bathroom floor, mold around the bathtub, and the tub was disgusting. See attached pictures. Will never stay here again and will spread the word around the Academy.
Stayed here to celebrate my husbands retirement from the National Guard. Everything in the room was amazing! Convenient walk to restaurants (highly recommend Gordon Biersch for dinner and Mission BBQ for lunch) and a HUGE Target! So hard to get out of bed every morning! The HVAC unit was a little noisy which didn’t bother us, but FYI for the next person.
