We are now open again, following all national & state guidelines, and industry best practices. We live on site, so we have a direct interest in staying clean and safe. We believe a small B&B can stay much more clean and safe than a larger facility. Please contact us if you have any questions. Thank you! Marty & Carmel Etzel Owners Centrally located in downtown Annapolis, Flag House Inn is within one of the largest private homes near the waterfront. Originally two Victorian townhouses, Flag House was restored in the early 90's, and now includes on-site parking (rare!). You get the privacy of an inn, the modern amenities of a luxury hotel, with the friendliness of a bed and breakfast. The inn is the closest accommodation to the US Naval Academy, (across from main entrance) you could not be any closer unless you were inside the base! Enjoy a fresh home cooked hot breakfast, before setting off to explore this beautiful and historic town. Fresh baked cookies and fruit are available during the day. Your hosts are pleased to make personallized recommendations so you can further enhance your experience, whether it is dining or things to do. The front porch flies your state or national flags of guests, and greets you with swings and teak benches. The entrance opens into splendid interiors filled with naval and nautical art and memorabilia, fine paintings, antiques, and reproductions. Flag House offers five comfortable king or twin bed guest rooms, including a two-room suite, each with private bath, hi speed wi-fi, air conditioning and HD cable TV.

Property's Favorite Review
We were thrilled to be back at the Flaghouse Inn for a second stay for USNA Plebe Parents Weekend. Marty and Carmel took fabulous care of our entire family (even helped to ensure that my plebe’s dress whites did not get messy)! What could be more welcoming than the Wisconsin flag flying out in front, and homemade chocolate chip cookies? Marty and Carmel went out of their way to make us feel at home and created a friendly atmosphere where we enjoyed the company of the other guests and our hosts. On the morning of the Plebe parade, they customized the timing of breakfast and provided a delicious grab n’ go breakfast to accommodate our schedule. They were super flexible with everything and were a wealth of knowledge about all things Annapolis and USNA-related. It’s hard to choose a favorite breakfast from our visit, but some of my family’s favorites were the homemade sausage biscuits, raspberry muffins, and corned beef hash. Staying at the Flaghouse Inn feels like staying with family.

Hi Heidi H, that is such nice words and we so missed you and your great family for Herndon monument climb last week, it sure has been a different Commissioning Week this year :-(. We are doing fine though and can't wait to see all of you again, we have a few new treats up our sleeve... We always work with guests for their needs, whether it is dietary requests/needs, early breakfast, late check in etc...And we always fly the flag of your state or country. During the downtime we have done even more exploration of Annapolis and the surrounding area, we recently published a blog of favorite walks both in town and within a 30 minute drive.. See you soon we hope!

Our stay at the Flag House Inn was excellent. As a frontline medical professional, my fiance and I were looking for a safe place to get away and take a mental break. Marty and Carmel were fantastic and generous innkeepers who have taken all the necessary and recommended steps to keep guests safe during the pandemic. Everything was spotless and food was prepared with "PPE" including mask and gloves. The inn is beautiful and the Commodore room had a very comfortable bed. There are many take-out options open in Annapolis but be prepared to bring your food back to the inn to eat. (This isn't a problem as the inn has plenty of dining space and necessary utensils.) The breakfasts were delicious and the property had a very dapper feel. You can't get closer to the wharf or naval academy than Flag House Inn. Highly recommend.

Hi Arltraveler1, it was our honor to give you a short break from your challenging work, we are so grateful for what you do to keep us safe. While not everything is open yet as of May 12 in Annapolis, we were pleased you took advantage of the many walks available (we have a blog listing 12 walks , 5 from out front door, and 7 within 30 minutes drive). And you got a good sampling of the many restaurants and coffee shops that are open now for pickup. We are following national and state guidelines, and researched food and lodging best practices, it is great to see your feedback that we are meeting your high expectations. As you know, we live onsite, so we have a vested interest in keeping you safe while we stay safe too We look forward to seeing you again when more activities open up, and in meantime we look forward to hosting more guests very soon as they feel comfortable to travel. We are here and we are ready!

Great accommodations, location, hosts, parking, and breakfast! Flags are a nice personal touch! Across the street from Academy and a block away from downtown shops and dining. Book early. Enjoy sitting and swinging on the porch.

Hi John, thanks for the great comments. We indeed are having fun with flags 😎....we indeed have a great location for exploring Annapolis with free parking on site and breakfast ( the big hotels in town don’t do that!) And your best advice is to book early! Thanks and we hope to see you again!
