The bed and breakfast was clean and welcoming. The room was very comfortable. The bathroom was pristine and the sheets were impeccable. Just as I like them. Breakfast was delicious and personalized. Would highly recommend. Friendly, helpful, relaxed atmosphere.
We were looking for a night away over the holidays, and the Flag House Inn was just the thing! The Commodore Room was lovely - we enjoyed a nice walk for a great dinner at the Boatyard. Breakfast was delicious. We will definitely be back!
Annapolis is a wonderful town. Flag House is just a shory walk from everything - across the street from the Academy, two blocks from City Dock, a short stroll to the State House. Marty and Carmel do everything to make you welcome. Free parking, great breakfast, clean rooms. Our go to place for visiting Annapolis.
My husband and I were quite impressed with our visit to Annapolis and our stay at the Flag House Inn. Marty made us feel welcome and gave us excellent advice about activities and how to navigate the city with ease. The room was perfect and the food exceptional. I highly recommend the Flag House for a romantic getaway in a city filled with history and adventure.
We’ve visited Annapolis a number of times in the past and always settled into one of the chain hotels on the outskirts, having to endure the mess of traffic and limited parking in order to enjoy this fun small city. We chose the Flag House this time to avoid all that and for a more personal experience for our one-night stay en route to Maryland’s Eastern shore. WHAT WAS GOOD: First, Marty and Carmel are excellent hosts who are welcoming, friendly, communicative and informative. I especially appreciated the pre-check-in inquiries on coffee preferences, breakfast times, parking instructions, etc. They’re very skilled hosts and really nice people….There’s no way you can beat the location in the center of Annapolis, on a relatively quiet side street yet steps from the harbor and Main Street, with endless dining, shops and sights within easy walking distance. And, of course, entry to the USNA is right across the street….I know from experience that parking in downtown Annapolis can be a nightmare. Being able to park and walk is a great plus….Breakfasts are an event here. We were served a fresh fruit starter and muffin followed by an unusual hot entrée consisting of garden vegetables, sausage and poached eggs. Kale and broccoli are a little weird to me to start the day but the dish was very good and clearly meticulously prepared….We stayed in the Commodore Room, which, despite a dark red wallpaper motif, was bright, airy, spacious and very comfortable. WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER: Nothing of consequence. THINGS TO KNOW: Parking is tight, so the smaller the car the better. We needed to wedge our standard sized SUV at the top of the narrow driveway for the night. Tricky but convenient nonetheless….You can walk to literally anything in downtown Annapolis. Water taxis are also just a five-minute walk. BOTTOM LINE: I can’t imagine a more convenient, comfortable and reasonably priced accommodation in downtown Annapolis with such personable hosts.…
