We all Had a great time Everything inside and out was very clean Everyone was very helpful and friendly Extremely beautiful place Very spacious Lots of fun for everyone Want to come back again very soon
We really enjoyed our stay at Abbot Trailside Lodging. We stayed in cabin #6 and it was great. Very clean and comfortable. I thought it might be loud seeing how there are ATV trails on the property but it was quiet. We came to the area to go on a moose tour, we didn't see any moose so we will be back next year.
This is an adorable property with cabins that will make you feel like you are "getting away from it all" while still having the comforts of the modern world--the best of both worlds! Our cabin was spotless, all fixtures and furniture were pristine, and the kitchen was fully stocked with all utensils and cookware you could need. We were super comfortable in the air conditioned cabin, and as night fell, you can go outside to a roomy covered porch with chairs to relax on OR you can enjoy a private firepit (each cabin has one...AND the lodging has a well-stocked wood shed you can purchase bundles of wood at for a very small fee). Its name truly does reflect it's location...if you are in Maine to snowmobile, this is your place, as it literally directly beside the trail network. The owners are extremely invested in customers being happy, and they went out of their way for us. I would definitely make this an annual tradition.…
The rooms were very clean and so cute. The check in and out process was so easy and great for late arrivals and the price seemed more than fair to me for how nice the rooms were. Definitely recommend!
We rented a cabin for a week. It had everything we could possibly need for a week away from home. The beds were comfortable. The shoer had three setting so everyone was happy. The kitchenette had pots, pans, and utensils to help us prepare simple meals. There was a small porch with chairs for relaxing. The best part, is that it's about 5 minutes or less from the Abbot Bakery!!
I needed a place to stay in the area at the last minute. I found this place through a google search. Checking in was all remote but very easy. I liked the no hassle or waiting to get into the room. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. The place was really designed for ATV trips, it is literally right on the trail. Great parking for people with ATVs. I grabbed a sandwich from the Monson store and came back and ate it on the deck. Beautiful and relaxing way to spend the evening. Even though it was designed for riders it still worked well for a business traveler. There was a desk and very good internet service for me to work a bit from the room. If there was anything to complain about it was there is no iron in the room. But that was a minor thing. Everything else was excellent. I will come here again next time I am in the area.…
This was our first time staying at Abbot and I have to say it was a great stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The cleaning staff was awesome and very friendly. We will stay here again for sure.
Abbot Trailside is the perfect place to get a good night's rest or longer stays. Whether you're coming to the beautiful Moosehead region to hike, kayak, bike, ATV, or just plain relax, this property offers beautiful cabins or motel rooms. Clean, modern and excellent Wi-Fi if you must work. Your hosts know how to treat their guests. Rooms have AC, heat, cable, mini-fridge, complimentary Keurig coffee. Oh, and did I mention the queen beds are like sleeping on a cloud? Definitely the best lodging option around. Book online or call Abbot Trailside direct, you won't be sorry.
Our very close friends have a cabin nearby and for Thanksgiving every year 30 of us go up, we stay in both the cabin owned by them or in a room at Abbot Trailside. We love it here, it is clean, everything you need is in the room, and super easy check in process. We love it here, its convenient and low key they also allow dogs for a small little fee and that was key for us!
We used this place to put friends up over the summer. We decided to do somewhat of a vacation but stay close to home, so came to Abbot Trailside. The pics on their website are very accurate. While I do know what the hotel rooms look like having seen them briefly in the summer, I can’t speak to their pros or cons. We stayed in Cabin 5 for six days and had a great time. We had originally planned on maybe seeing some sights in the area occasionally during the week but ended up staying in for most of it. It was very relaxing and enjoyable. The cabins are only about three years old and are very well kept and maintained. They are well appointed for a longer stay. Matt and his team have done a great job and are great to work with. We ended up extending our stay a day and he was very prompt in getting back with us to get it worked out. WI-FI: was fast and reliable and we had no connectivity issues. CELL SERVICE: we have Verizon and coverage was light but sufficient for calls. Any data activity on our phones or devices thru cellular was spotty at best. KITCHEN: full size fridge; single service Keurig; two burner induction stove top; basic pots, pans, plates, bowls, silverware were provided as well as a tall garbage can and broom/dust pan. BEDROOM: comfortable queen size memory foam bed with extra blankets available. Nightstand on one side had a clock/alarm; an electrical outlet “base” with 3 USB and 1 USB-C plugs for devices. BATHROOM: good sized bathroom with full tub/shower; sink with home vanity and mirror. DINING ROOM: in cabin 5 there was a separate room with a table and four chairs and a door that could be closed for privacy. Space was tight but sufficient. LIVING ROOM: only seating is a futon that was basically comfortable but not plush like a home couch would be. There are no footstools or recliner-type chairs. Not a deal breaker, but just a thought. TV: we are not big TV watchers but DirecTV with lots of channels was wired and we did watch some movies. HEAT/AC: the cabins and hotel rooms are equipped with a common hotel heater and air conditioner. We used the heater and it kept the entire cabin plenty warm and sometimes too warm so we would adjust accordingly. I’m sure the AC would be plenty sufficient in warmer times. PORCH: each cabin has a good sized front porch with two lawn chairs. Too cold outside to really enjoy it. We thought the porch light was a nice touch for when we got back in the dark. ONE DRAWBACK: there are no closets, clothes rods or dressers in the cabin we were in. The only option for hanging clothes was a rail with 5 or 6 hooks hanging in the kitchen. The night stand did have two drawers so that helped, but hanging clothes was not convenient. TRAIL: behind the property is a wide trail that appears to have been a railroad bed in the past. During peak times this is a busy ATV trail but it because of the time of year we had it almost all to ourselves and was perfect for walking, jogging and taking the dogs for a walk. PETS: Abbot Trailside Lodging is pet friendly with a nominal fee. We have two mini schnauzers and they really enjoyed the time too. FIRE PITS: each cabin had a fire ring and wood was available for purchase. We ended up not doing a fire but we did talk about it. PARKING: we had two vehicles and there was room to park in front of the cabin and then off to the side with our second vehicle.…
