This is an adorable property with cabins that will make you feel like you are "getting away from it all" while still having the comforts of the modern world--the best of both worlds! Our cabin was spotless, all fixtures and furniture were pristine, and the kitchen was fully stocked with all utensils and cookware you could need. We were super comfortable in the air conditioned cabin, and as night fell, you can go outside to a roomy covered porch with chairs to relax on OR you can enjoy a private firepit (each cabin has one...AND the lodging has a well-stocked wood shed you can purchase bundles of wood at for a very small fee). Its name truly does reflect it's location...if you are in Maine to snowmobile, this is your place, as it literally directly beside the trail network. The owners are extremely invested in customers being happy, and they went out of their way for us. I would definitely make this an annual tradition.

I stayed for two nights here earlier this month and was very glad I did. It took a little looking to find—it’s on a gravel road two turns off the state highway—but there are blue signs to guide you. It’s right next to an ATV trail, and that seemed to be the big reason the other guests were there. But I chose it for its proximity to Monson and Greenville for hiking. It’s a great choice for that and is significantly cheaper than staying in Greenville. It has four motel rooms and three full size cabins. I was in the motel, and my room was spacious and clean. Everything worked very well, and the mini fridge and microwave came in handy. It was a little odd being in a room with no photos or art, but the not a huge deal. My motel room had a porch with plastic Adirondack chairs; it was a very quiet and relaxing place to sit in the evening.
It was a little different than a regular motel/hotel. You get a key code by e-mail after reserving your room. There isn’t an on-site office, but there is a phone outside from which to call them. And it really is out in the country—bring your food when you come (they do have a Keurig machine) The beds were extra comfortable. Parking is ample. If I were up there for a hiking trip, again, I would be glad to return—it’s a fine place that’s a fine value.

My recent stay at Abbot Trailside Lodging was a great experience. We arrived late, and self-check-in was so easy. After receiving confirmation of accommodations, instructions were given for access to the unit with a contact name and number should I need anything. The unit was immaculate, with fresh linens and comfortable memory foam beds. The sink is located outside the bathroom, which is made for ease when two people are getting ready for bed and early morning departure. The bathroom amenities are adequate; there are thick towels, and I loved having a pump hand soap dispenser on the sink. It looked like the bathroom was recently renovated; the shower/tub unit was great, with strong pressure from the showerhead. There was an extra charging station on the bureau under the TV, which was appreciated when charging all devices. A mini refrigerator with a small freezer, coffee machine, and microwave in the unit with a small table and two chairs. I made reservations online but called directly with a few questions, and Matt was very nice and great to talk with. I was delighted with my stay and highly recommend the Abbot Trailside Lodge.

Our very close friends have a cabin nearby and for Thanksgiving every year 30 of us go up, we stay in both the cabin owned by them or in a room at Abbot Trailside. We love it here, it is clean, everything you need is in the room, and super easy check in process. We love it here, its convenient and low key they also allow dogs for a small little fee and that was key for us!

The Abbot Trailside Lodging was clean and quiet. We liked not needing to check in at a certain time and had no problems using the emailed code to get into the room. From then on we used the provided key that was inside the room. The bathroom and bath/shower was spacious and clean. I liked that the sink was outside the toilet/shower room so that I could brush teeth etc while the other room was occupied. The 2 queen beds each had 4 comfy pillows and the mattresses were incredibly comfortable. There were a lot of ATV's around but none were operated late at night or early in the morning, which was important to us. Our room had a mini fridge, microwave, and kuerig coffee maker. I am in a wheelchair and was able to use my own portable ramp to get up the 2 outdoor steps with ease. I had called the Lodge and requested the height of the bed to make sure I could safely transfer. He texted me a photo of the bed height and also the height of the 2 outside steps. Now that's service! I would go back in a heartbeat and I highly recommend this place. No complaints at all.

This is a seriously adorable cabin! We were delighted with our stay at Abbot Trailside Lodging. The room had everything you could possibly need - some of the best mattresses we have ever slept on, a fully supplied kitchen area, keyless entry, and very, very clean and well-kept. We highly recommend this as a great place to stay for folks visiting the Moosehead Lake region!

Abbot Trailside is the perfect place to get a good night's rest or longer stays. Whether you're coming to the beautiful Moosehead region to hike, kayak, bike, ATV, or just plain relax, this property offers beautiful cabins or motel rooms. Clean, modern and excellent Wi-Fi if you must work. Your hosts know how to treat their guests. Rooms have AC, heat, cable, mini-fridge, complimentary Keurig coffee. Oh, and did I mention the queen beds are like sleeping on a cloud? Definitely the best lodging option around. Book online or call Abbot Trailside direct, you won't be sorry.

We had a wonderful and restful time. The cabin was kept up nicely and my husband enjoyed 4 wheeling on the many trails in the area. They were very accommodating and if we needed anything, they were readily available with a number for us to reach out to them and they even checked in periodically since we stayed for a week.
