I enjoyed it enough that I just booked for another night next week. It is a historic hotel, with surroundings that are so much more interesting than the standard international chains through which I accumulate points. The lobby is remodeled to its original look, and my room was modern and well maintained, including the bathroom which is an indicator of hotel and staff. I enjoyed a handcrafted cocktail in the Mirror Lounge with the bartender who prepares his own cherries, and breakfast in the restaurant. The small number of patrons at breakfast was a little concerning to me, but made kitchen service fast and they customized my egg white omelet to order. I enjoyed viewing items on display around the lobby and in the museum area and will take a deeper dive when I return. There are definitely times for the chain hotel... in business on the road, sometimes I need a quick in and out place on the interstate with the expected courtesy breakfast. This hotel offers a different and superior experience, and not far off the main roads, and adjacent to the Red River walking/jogging trails and downtown restaurants.

My High School Reunion was held on Friday and Saturday night at this historic hotel. We had a historic time and the class emanating from this hotel set the mood. It is clean with functioning elevator and great humongous stairs. We had great food and lots of attentive wait staff at both events.

I can’t even begin to tell you how perfect our trip was at the Bentley (9/2-9/3). Customer service was way beyond our expectations... from the parking attendant to front desk, restaurant staff at the Bentley Room and the bartender at the Mirror Room... ALL of them were exceptionally professional and friendly. I’d also like to give a special thanks to Ms. Gloria at the Bentley Room for making us feel so welcome. She had that pleasant, genuine, old fashioned, sweet Nana vibe that made us feel so at home. We ended up having lunch, dinner (our steaks were perfect😋), and breakfast during our one night stay!

I booked my room for a family weddimg back in May. I spoke with a gentleman who told me he had made the arrangements for the block of rooms and I reserved a room with2 queen beds and a sofa for my party of 4 adults and a six year old. We had no problem with room, although I question the size of the beds, no way they were queen sized. The sofa was also a no go, we had two side chairs instead. What irked me was that the rest of our family attending this wedding were on the 5th floor and we were on 3rd. Next when we got to our room, it clearly was not prepared for more than one guest there was one set of bath linen. We had to request the additional linen. The next day, they took out the used towels, but didn't replace them, and after we requested the bed changed due to an illness incident, they dumped the soiled linen outside the door where it stayed until the next morning Also, something was off with the TV, it turned on but wouldn't do anything else. Turns out the one poor girl at the front desk had to come and fix it. Apparently the suddenlink box was hanging behind the bureau and of course couldn't receive. There was no cable directory, you just had to click on channels to see what they were I know I can be picky, but honestly, I expected much better service and quality.

Traveled from Houston to attend a function at the hotel and spent the night there. Yes, the hotel is beautiful, food was prepared to perfection and the room was very comfortable. What captured my attention the most, was the customer service and it was over the top. Everyone we encountered had a smile on their face and their intent was to make sure you enjoyed your time there. One person, in particular, I would like to acknowledge is "Scott", who was the epidemy of our experience with the "Bentley Staff". Also notable were the bartenders at the Mirror Room who prepared our drinks to perfection and even on that busy night, remembered our drink choice. The Mirror Room was enjoyable and very comfortable and clean. As I watched every bartender prepare drinks, each utensil used was washed before preparing the next cocktail. We will be going back to the Bentley next time we are in Central Louisiana and stay more than one night to check out the Alexandria area. Where else can you stay in Alexandria with a deep military history and know that people such as General Patton, Omar Bradley, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Henry Kissinger, Roy Rogers, and even John Wayne stayed there.
