My husband and I did a small 'stay' overnight. The rooms are exceptionally clean, spaciously laid out and tastefully decorated. Bedding and linens are high quality, comfortable and soft for a good night's rest. There is a wonderful wrap around porch. Spacious bathrooms in the suites with a large shower stall and clawfoot tub. There is a fridge, and coffee station in our room as well (Two Oaks Suite). A great little getaway for a day or a few...

My husband and I came to Abita Springs to visit the Abita brewery. Rather than stay right off the highway we chose to stay near the brew pub. This is an old hotel with very beautiful rooms. An ice bucket, wine opener and glasses were provided as well a a coffee pot and microwave. They thought of everything. Comfortable bed and great large shower. I would stay there again. Free parking in the back.

My wife and I enjoyed our serene weekend away at the Abita Springs Hotel. We live a little over an hour away in New Orleans and chose this as our destination for an easy few days enjoying nature and some peace and quiet. We were lucky enough to find the Twin Oaks Suite available for our stay -- the room is simply stunning, with a comfy bed, a huge bathroom featuring a clawfoot tub and shower, and a great view of the lush patio. We took advantage of the free bikes for a long ride along the Trace. We had some lovely meals in downtown Covington (10 minute drive). And we enjoyed living the small-town life while feeling like we were at an upscale, boutique hotel. We are looking forward to making this a regular getaway for ourselves.

We weren’t positive where we would find a hotel room during Mardi Gras before a cruise. When booking the cruise, we didn’t think of it being Mardi Gras. Luckily I found this absolutely beautiful hotel in Abita Springs. We had a fabulous afternoon eating lunch at Chimes in Covington. We finished off the evening walking in the Abita Springs park near the St. Tammany trail head and dinner and drinks at the Abita brewery. The morning drive across Lake Ponchatrain wasn’t bad at all and we arrived at the cruise terminal at 10 AM.

We came from Sweden to visit the US and Jazzfest this year. In between festival weekends we decided to take a trip and explore the more rural side of Louisiana. We went for Abita Springs and what an excellent choice! A lovely little town that has a truly romantic touch. The beautiful pavillion, the town hall and the Abita springs Park. Very cosy. We took the short trip to Covington and the Covington brewery for their brewery tour. Lovely. All you need in Abita Springs is close and handy from the hotel, a good place to eat, a nice bar which we found in the Abita brew pub of course. If you are in for a whacky funny experience we recommend The Abita Mystery house. All we can say is, you've never seen anything like it! :-) As for the Abita Springs Hotel experience. Simply a true gem! The room was very spacious, nicely furnished and very cosy. The beds were very very comfortable. Our bathroom was lovely, had good space and like the rest, very tidy and clean. The whole hotel building seem to have gone through a restoration with expertise and a gentle touch to preserve that cosy inviting feeling. We sat on the lovely porch for quite sometime, just a perfect place to relax and ponder. The hotel staff, Mrs Kelsey, was wonderful and hospitaple. We couldn't ask for any better. As a European coming to visit this exotic place, one come to think of a resemblance to some of the most beautiful set scenes from the movie Fried green tomatoes at the Whistle stop cafe, in the best way you can imagine. Oh, speaking of cafe. The Abita Springs cafe next door is a great little place to eat any time of the day.
