Abita Springs Hotel provided the right ambiance combination to match its town. It almost felt like you were transported to Mayberry in the Andy Griffith TV show. The room's decor was just right, tasteful and appropriately chic for the right look. The layout was set comfortably along a small seating area. The bathroom was easy to move across with a large shower. Plenty of perks, including a wine opener and glasses, nice plates, utensils, microwave and small refrigerator with freezer. I just would suggest to have the freezer defrosted more often, so that there would be more space available for storage, aside from just ice. Plenty of coffee, tea and some snacks. The second floor had a wrap around porch that included more than one set of rocking chairs along the windows and they were situated right underneath ceiling fans. Suggestion, the porch's floor needs some refurbishing. The free parking was on the back, but there was plenty of room on the front to load and unload your luggage. The hotel was walking distance to restaurants and cafes, Sunday's Farmers Market, across a walking/running/biking path that is close to 30 miles long, and Abita Springs Mystery House. Some venues are closed on Sundays and Monday's, but nearby, less than 5-10 minutes by car, there is another town called Covington which has more opened on those days, quite, picturesque too and convenient. Nice visit!…
My husband and I stopped through Abita Springs on our way to New Orleans. We stayed in the Parlor Suite and our time there couldn’t have been more relaxing. The hotel was beautiful, the bed was so comfortable, and the claw foot tub was such a nice treat. We drank coffee and ate ice cream on the porch, and took an early morning walk down the Tammany Trace - which is right out the front door. We can’t wait to return and are already planning our next visit to the hotel!
My husband and I booked a stay for 3 nights. We were in Room 1-Parlor King Suite. The room was absolutely beautiful! Very spacious with a nice sitting area and tons of windows! We loved it. The bed was so comfortable. I slept like a baby. The bathroom had a separate claw foot tub and huge shower. Everything was very clean. Housekeeping and the manager were very nice and helpful. Emails were always answered very quickly. The Tammany Trace ran right in front of the hotel so we just hopped on our bikes and started our ride there. Abita is a small town but we had no trouble finding a few really good places to eat there and it was only a short distance to Covington where we ate one night. The big porch that wraps around the house and also the gardens provided great places to just sit and read or rest. It seemed to be booked fully but we were never bothered by noise from other guests even though this is an older house. Parking was ample with private spaces out back or road side up front. We will definitely be back!…
My wife and I could only stay one night but had a great one night stay. The hotel, it's rooms and the whole property is almost beyond description. Beautiful, historic, with thoughtful modernized furnishings. The work the owners put into this project is amazing. We were very impressed with the quality, comfort and just everything about our stay in the hotel. We will definitely come back to Abita Springs to stay in this hotel.
My husband and I stayed in the king suite (room 4) and it was amazing. The owners managed to keep the charm and yet created a southern style feel that had modernized touches. For example, the small refrigerator and the microwave looked vintage but they were brand new. This room had high ceilings, three separate areas including a very large bathroom with a separate large shower and a clawfoot tub and natural light with a window. The king size bed was actually comfortable, which is surprising for small hotels. There was also a small sitting room with a loveseat and a chair and a coffee table and a small area set apart just for coffee and eating that had a tiny little bar and two barstools. The grounds were so cute with a water fountain in the back sitting area (for smokers) and a lot of greenery. The place is small, with only five rooms in total, but that does not matter because it is so quaint and charming, plus it is private. One thing to note is that the television has a limited number of national stations but it does have all the apps like Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, etc.The location is excellent and only walking distance from several good places to eat. I recommend Mama D’s for a local pizzeria that had the best pizza we ever had. It is literally a two minute walk from the hotel. We also liked the Abita Springs Brew Pub, which was just across the street. Abita Springs Cafe was a 3 minute walk for breakfast and that was average but okay. The cleaning service there was great too and they were very accommodating. We will definitely return. It was a great experience.…
Had the opportunity to stay in one of our favorite getaways, Abita Springs, Louisiana. What a neat little hidden gem. We always stay at the Abita Springs Hotel of course. This small boutique hotel is so well maintained and appointed. The amenities are excellent and the location can’t be beat. We love the convenience of walking to great dining and one of the best riding trails in Louisiana.
This was the perfect way to celebrate my birthday. Our stunning room, the Twin Oaks King Suite, in the impeccably-restored hotel, was luxurious and spacious. Located steps away from restaurants and bar, we enjoyed the historic town's fine fare. And the bikes made available by the hotel were perfect for our morning ride through the woods on the Tammany Trace. Capping it all off, was a lovely tour of the Abita Mystery Museum. Not to be missed! We will definitely be back for another soul-invigorating weekend away from New Orleans.
This our 6th stay at the Abita Springs Hotel. For us, it is a great location. I walk to get breakfast from “the Cafe” and eat while I work from the room. The COVID protocols are good for us and the staff is still very responsive to our needs. We visit the area 3 times a year and we will continue to stay there.
Excellent accommodations for a quick getaway from the city! Walking distance to all we wanted. Dinner at the pub breakfast at bakery and bike rental! We will be back soon with intentions to extend our visit !
It was pleasant to spend the night here and wake up refreshed the next day. Close walking distance to the local Abita Springs Brewery Restraurant (which is fabulous), there is also a breakfast cafe within walking distance too. Bed and room was clean and comfortable. I am picky about bathrooms, and this met my standards of being updated and very clean. We loved the decor as well.
