I have stayed with my family at the Balboa Inn last week - for the second time in a year- and I can only agree with the slogan on their (beautifully soft and luxurious!) towels: "The Balboa Inn- your home from home"! When I booked the first time last year, I chose this B&B primarily for its excellent location- it... More

Thank you Birgit for your lovely review. We were so happy you and your family returned to the Balboa Inn and enjoyed your stay with us. It was a pleasure especially seeing how much Katalina has grown and we look forward to seeing you all next year. I am sure she will have many more stories to tell us. Thank... More

Couldn't agree more with previous positive comments. Feeling home abroad, nice and clean rooms, good coffee and excellent breakfast. Quite place to be, close by the locks, the hill and with a cab your a in an instance at the old town for example. Simon and Rosie bid us a hospitable welcome. Very helpful in finding additional tours to do... More

Rosie and Simon are very helpful and very friendly. They are of great assistance for any question such as restaurants, sight seeing etc. The rooms are very basic, especially considering the price for the rooms. Breakfast is pretty rudimentary too. The replenishment of breakfast items is rather slow, and in our case there was no more coffee even before the... More

A lovely hotel run by a lovely English couple - the rooms are a good size and mine had beautifully decorated walls with painted storks and foliage, super hot water with nice bathrooms freebies. It also had great storage space, large windows and a/c; all set in a lovely shaded garden, onto which some rooms open onto. You eat breakfast... More

Having lived in the Canal Zone way back in the late sixties,I was somewhat familiar with Balboa. Not wanting to stay in Panama City, a real zoo,we chose the Balboa B B to start our nearly month long trip across Panama. We arranged an airport pick-up with Rosie and a two night stay before heading to a beach area near Costa... The very first thing to say about the Balboa Inn is to commend the high level of service offered by Rosie and Simon. From booking a lift from and to the airport (very important) to guidance on how to negotiate a local taxi, they are very quick to offer help or do the arranging for you. Besides that, the rooms... We had the pleasure of spending 10 nights at the Inn with our fantastic hosts, Rosie and Simon, during our recent trip to Panama. The goal of the trip was to explore the Canal Zone neighborhood where my Great-Aunt and Uncle lived from 1935 to 1950 and the Inn was the absolute perfect jumping off point for our visit. Although... We stayed at the Inn for our first 3 nights and our final night in Panama. Our hosts, Rosie and Simon, greeted us warmly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The room and the breakfast terrace are exactly as they look in the pictures. We spent hours out on the terrace, watching the... More

We were looking for a "pension" not an American style hotel. This was a converted house in the Ancon area of the city. The room was spotless with a descent bed (a little stiff) and a good air conditioner. Rosie and Simon were a world of help getting around and providing assistance. Simon walked us through the neighborhood to a... More

I stayed at this lovely Inn when I arrived in Panama, the couple who run it are English, Rosie and Simon, they were so welcoming and relaxed I felt like part of the family and only after one night! The room was beautiful and clean, the service was amazing they organised taxis and told me where the bus was. Unfortunately... More
