Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good but you had no choice. It was what they served that day but was adequate. The staff was friendly and very helpful with questions. I recommend it as a good hotel at a fair price.
We stayed at the Albrook Inn. The rooms are simple and comfortable. The front desk clerk Alba (could be Elba)was extremely helpful by assisting us and translating information on a phone call. She also communicated to the cab driver where we were going and confirmed the price before we got in the cab. It made our stay pleasant and easy.we would recommend this hotel and plan to stay there again. The pool is very small but sufficient for a dip to cool down.
I stayed here 4 nights during a conference in Panama City. The property is well located in a quiet residential area of Balboa. Because of residential location, it is about a half mile walk to restaurants, Paseo mall, and Rey supermarket. My room was small and spartan but clean. Except for soaps, there are no amenities provided in the rooms, not even a cup. There is an ice machine at the hotel, but I had to ask at the bar for a bucket to hold ice. I booked without breakfast, but breakfasts can be purchased reasonably ($6-8), although service was slow. The hotel also provided discount dinner coupons to their restaurant. Because of its location, hotel is busy, which leads to a lot of guest noise outside rooms, especially on first floor.
When we got there I asked the lady at the check inn counter about when coffee was available. She said it was available 24 hours because someone was at the desk and could make it for $2.00. When I got there the next morning the young man at the desk said it was not available until breakfast. No big deal. Breakfast is included. It is eggs, fruit and toast. Coffee or water..that's it. We were the 2nd party to arrive and order breakfast but the server served breakfast to three people who came after us. We had to flag her down and ask what was going on since everyone got the same thing. We finally got our food but she never gave my wife the water. We flagged her down again about the water not before she took another party's order before getting water. Terrible service!
Everything about this hotel is perfectly average. The rooms a decent but not spectacular, with no view but comfortable-enough beds. The restaurant is pretty average. We tried to have breakfast and although I ordered the simplest possible meal (continental breakfast) and we were the only ones in the restaurant it took the waitress 10 mins to return with cold toast, and to inform me that there was no milk for the cereal. She completely forgot the coffee and juice, so my "big breakfast" consisted of cold white toast and some tinned pineapple. The hotel kindly stored our excess luggage for 2 weeks while we were in Bocas del Toro, but left the bags in a hot room with no ventilation, so everything was covered in a thick layer of mould when we returned. We only needed a place to stay for one night near the airport, and this was good enough, but don't expect anything more.…
