The staff was the BEST!! Especially Karla.... Totally full service to help you with any need. The food and drinks were amazing as well. They have a gym and swimming pool on the 4th floor along with a sitting patio to enjoy some fresh air or evening lights.

Just as wonderful as our first visit last summer, we couldn't be happier with our stay at the Bristol. We would like to thank the managers George and Oto whose immediate attention to our every need and detail was superb. They went out of their way to give us great recommendations for dining and sightseeing, as well as assistance getting acclimated to Panama City, even helping with Spanish interpretation and negotiation for transportation. They also showed us their many lovely residential options for a longer stay while we were searching for a home in Panama. Every member of the Bristol's staff met us with a smile and warmhearted assistance each day. The rooms are very elegant, spacious, and well kept, and having breakfast at the Salsipuedes restaurant provided numerous choices of delicious buffet options, making for a very relaxing experience. Excellent hotel with amazing art work. Staff were so friendly especially Carlos at the main entrance who greeted me by name every time he saw me. The reception staff were all helpful and assisted me whenever I asked for help. The breakfast staff also so very nice. The room was very comfy and had everything I needed in the right place. The food was exceptional and tasty.

We picked this hotel because of friends' recommendations and it seemed like a good location between the Casco Viejo and Old Panama. But we ended up having to take Uber everywhere because the hotel was not really near anything except the multi-lane Cinta Costera that was challenging to cross if you wanted to get anywhere near the water. (There is no view of the water from the hotel.) On the positive side, the room was very nice and comfortable, as was the bathroom. Unfortunately, the Hotel Activities brochure in the room got us excited about all the things there were to do - champagne tour of the hotel art collection, free cocktail with the manager on Thursdays, and many more - but it turns out that they didn't exist. At least no one at the front desk, including the person in charge, knew anything about them. Someone muttered, "this needs to be updated." So we went to the tiny lobby bar, which was lively one night, but empty the next because a blaring wedding band was right next door. (Even the bartender looked like he was going crazy.) The bar upstairs was slightly better only because we got good service and could sit and watch the Super Bowl on the small TV behind the bar. But that bar was really just an extension of the restaurant where, a couple times, there were screaming kids that put a damper on the ambience. We signed up for the hotel breakfast buffet because it was a much better deal than ala carte. The first day was fine, although not particularly memorable. The second day was the same selection so, the following two days, we decided to eat at the Bistro Paul across the street, where the selection of pastries was very good for a lot less money. As for dinner, the food we had both nights that we ate at the hotel was very good and the service was excellent. So.... this place was disappointing and I would pick somewhere else - particularly one with a view of the ocean.…

Dear TrustedTraveller2 , It saddens me to learn you have left with this impression of our boutique hotel where pampering and genuinely take care of our guest is our priority. Nevertheless, I welcome and appreciate your positive feedback and have taken notes of your constructive input, as well as, of those areas of opportunity you have kindly highlighted. Thank you for sharing this input that definetely help us grow in our way to service and operationally excellence. Please be advice that all our hotel activities are up and running and base on your feedback we have retrained our staff on them. Bristol is 500 meters to the waterfront and cinta costera, a beloved place for runner lovers or simply for a nice and pleasant walk during the sunset. We are also centrally located in the middle of the financial district which helps our guest to visit casco viejo (10 minutes driving) or Panama canal (20 minutes drive). However, it is totally right that walking mobility is reduced in Panama, not because distances or our location but because sidewalks are not properly built into the city´s landscape. In regards to breakfast, we have a very complete breakfast buffet with handmade pressed juice everymorning, local specialties and thematic station that changes everyday. I believe our rotative station was implemented a few days after your checkout. Should you have occasion to return to Panama, I would look forward to an opportunity to welcome you back and demonstrate we have made the necessary changes. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the food was delicious but the best part of my stay was the staff! Everyone was very friendly and helpful especially Neliño who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and help us out with any doubt we had.

This is a wonderful boutique hotel, and a great location. The beds are extremely comfortable. It is a very clean hotel. Many of the staff speak good English. The staff is particularly wonderful and accommodating and personal. In particular, Maria, Norka, Gilma, and Juan.
