Excellent hotel but we were disappointed with the room allocation. We booked 2 x Classic Rooms with Balcony back in January. However when we arrived in May we were told there wasn't any balcony rooms available? Our companion was allocated a 2 roomed suite with balcony, however? While we don't begrudge him his good fortune, I find it hard to believe that all the rooms with balconies in this huge hotel were booked before January. It seemed as though we were being booked in to what was available on the day & no pre-booking of rooms had taken place. We weren't even offered a refund.

The Hotel is extremely clean, very good security on premises. The hotel staff is very polite and helpful. The rooms are very roomy and the beds are extremely confortable. The restaurant has good variety of dishes, specially during breakfast.

Very nice hotel centrally located and all you need is there. the view from the 15th floor was beautiful! The bar and restaurant offer excellent choices and quality. Great choice for my last night before returning to the US.

Great hotel. Very personal, considerate, compassionate and professional. The staff went the extra mile to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Checked on me when I fell on an excursion. They were very attentive.

What a disaster experience ! Really a shame for a brand and image like Intercontinental. A "i don't care" attitude all over the place, bad service, bad rooms ... Difficult to find something positive about this hotel except the location and the view. 1) forget any decent checkin : the staff don't even look at you (even if you wait at the special counter for IHG level guests ; i was told "come here" ... Nice welcome. 2) room was not ready at the end of the day 3) area of swimming pool is just dirty (paper, dust all around) - see picture 4) room is not fresh; air conditionning leaking on the wall and floor, 1 cm space between the door and the wall ... Avoid a room close to the lift because you will hear the whole night the ding dong ... 5) don t disturb some staff member at the breakfast; they are not there to clean the table or serve a coffee (when you finally call him, he just avoids to come) Was it only us ? Are we too demanding for such an hotel ? Never again ...…

It was a great decision to stay here. Great location and a very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was great. The views of the ocean were incredible to wake up to. Get the ocean view. The pool was great and well maintained.

We stayed two separate nights, one before and one after a cruise leaving from Panama. The staff in this hotel is top notch! We were warmly greeted upon our arrival on both occasions by the front desk employees. Right away we felt at home. They also happily assisted us with obtaining transportation from/to airport and the cruise ports. I can’t say enough about the kind and friendly staff! Room: Our ocean view room was spacious and clean. Beds were quite comfortable and shower hot and strong. Food: We had a lovely late night meal and drinks in the bar area when we arrived, enjoyed the plentiful breakfast buffet the next morning, and another delicious meal via room service on our last night. Prices for food and liquor were very reasonable! Pool: although we chose to sightsee rather than use the pool it looked very inviting, with areas for enjoying the sun and shade as well.…

This is by no means a 4 or even 4.5 star hotel. The rooms are definitely very old and dated and could use an overhaul. The carpet in our room had ripples in it, which was unusual. The fridge did not work when we arrived. There was an eletrical issue that didnt allow for a device to be plugged in. The lamps didn't have switches, you had to plug them in to get light. The air extractor in bathroom did not work. The room keys would contantly malfunction and then the battery to the door died. There were many lilttle nuances that they would try their best to rectify immediately. The best part of our stay was the view from the 12th floor. In addition I must say the beds were very comfortable. And lastly the pool is very large and our sons had hours of fun at the pool. But do not book your stay here if you are looking for luxury. I stayed at the Waldorf last year in Panama city and that is definitely luxurious BUT has a very tiny rooftop pool. So DO stay here if you want to be very close to the walkway which is great for exercise and you can walk to the Mercado de Mariscos and have fresh ceviche. DO stay here if you want a large pool to swim or play in (ps you can bring floats but they don't have pump to inflate them). DO stay here if you want to be very close to everything but DO NOT expect luxury. I have stayed at many 5 star resorts and this was a definite disappointment. …

First, its in a good location, not far from Casco viejo, which is now a must to visit. the views are spectacular. my upgraded room was very confortable Good pillows and comfy mattress. BUT the coffee maker was not working. the furniture at the entrance of the hotel looks very wasted ( just change 2 sofas and make a better first impression.) the breakfast food is not impressive, Its not to the same standard as intercontinental Madrid or Istanbul not to mention Dubai

Intercontinental’s are more expensive than many IHG properties, but are worth the price. This hotel has a huge pool as well. We were upgraded (thanks IHG) and the view from the balcony over looking Panama Bay was spectacular. Handy for getting tours around town. It is Carnival so the streets are crowded and some are closed to traffic. Going to take a walk along the bay this morning before heading out to the countryside.
