Staff bend over backwards to help from booking onwards. We had 2 different rooms both very light and comfortable. There is a great kitchen and shared, light living room area. Location is great. so glad we stayed in Casco Viejo not modern part of city. It's not cheap but similar to other places I think.
We joined Magnolia Inn for 4 Days. During the whole stay the reception was occupied. Even in the morning someone sit there and helped you if necessary. The people there extra friendly and helpfull. Full of understanding in case of CONVID-19 and tried to help us where ever they could. The rooms clean and sweet. Cleaning service if you like. And really in the middle of old town panama. We just thought foe us the best offer you can find. 🤷🏻♂️
We spent four nights in this hotel and it was the ideal choice for us. We liked the charm of the old section of the city and it is in a great location. There are many choices for dining nearby and small, pretty plazas every few blocks. There are still some renovations going on in the neighborhood but most of the buildings have been renovated. There are grocery stores, drug stores, and variety stores all within walking distance. In addition, we felt very safe walking all over this neighborhood. The rates here were very reasonable in comparison to other hotels. I didn't see the dorm style rooms but I did see backpackers coming and going periodically. We stayed in 2B and this room had two queen beds and was adequately roomy.. The small bathroom was across the hall and this was a minor inconvenience. There was no view to speak of from this room so if that is important to you, you might want to choose another room. There was a public area (sitting, kitchen, tables and chairs) on the floor beneath us and it looked very nice. We did not take advantage of that area but there were typically a few people in there. Everything I saw was very clean and well maintained. The staff was very helpful in terms of giving suggestions for things to do and they also helped us lug our luggage up and down the stairs. We had two flights to climb to get to 2B and there is no elevator. The street level is level 0 so we were, in my tradition, on the third floor. The electricity is 110 so we didn't need a converter and they use the US dollar as their currency. Tip: bring your own hand lotion and tissues. There is a pizza restaurant on the same block that we liked very much and we had breakfast at Tantalo's right around the corner and liked it very much also. If I were to return I would probably choose a room on a lower floor and would try to get one with a better view but, in spite of that, we enjoyed our stay in this beautiful historic building and would go back in a heartbeat.…
Room at Magnolia was nice but no elevator and 71 steps to get to. In a noisy area. A White Noice Machine was in the room and earplugs offered. Room was not cheap ($130./nite). Those things should be disclosed up front. It’s next door to the Tantalo which does disclose it can be noisy and chose Magnolia for that reason. Same noise but no disclosure.
Stayed 2 nights in one of the penthouse rooms. Perfect location for walking Casco Veijo. Clean and in good condition. Great bed, nice size room, lovely view over Casco Veijo, good private bathroom/shower. Room included small fridge, coffee equipment, small sink, small kitchen counter for eating. All perfect for our morning coffee/croissant/fruit. Good wifi signal, great tv channels, in-room safe. Friendly staff. Loved it and would stay here again for sure.
