Well from this hotel you will have a lovely view out over the water which is great. You can walk to some places near to the hotel but otherwise it is convenient to use uber to go for sightseeing. Good breakfast.

On our arrival we spent one night in this hotel, we had booked a beautiful suite, very large room with a living room, a beautiful and large kitchen, several toilets and beautiful bathroom, on the other hand no balcony or terrace, but beautiful view , nice breakfast buffet, somewhat cold common areas, but very good value for money

We were in Panama Mid March for 4 nights when Corona Virus was just started to impact the world. Our flight arrived before time and it took us only 15 mins to pass the customs. They were checking incoming passengers temperature wearing full body suits - a sign things will be getting bad. At the airport they passed our luggage through x-rays but still we were out in 30 mins. The hotel is 30 mins from the airport and located in a very urban downtown location. There are many great restaurants, shopping stores, fast food, banks and a lot of traffic at walking distance. We had a larger unit with a sitting area which was enough for 5 of us. There was a small fridge and a coffee maker. Our unit had the city view and on the 5th floor. The elevator is really small and its supposed to hold 8-9 people. On the top floor/roof top there is a gym, pool and hot tub. There is a small sitting area too. There must have been some sandwich or fast food shop there as there was a kitchen and vending machine. It was very hot and humid in Panama and the pool was a welcome break. We had the breakfast included due to gold status and had a good variety in the buffet. We also ordered made-to-order omelettes. They had some local options as well like meat and tortilla. Fresh fruit was a plus. The first day they had no place to seat us so we sat in the conference room but saw people number dwindle as Corona grew. There were taxis and Uber always available outside the hotel. The lobby area is well maintained and there was a bar area, sitting sofas and a small concierge desk. I found the reception staff very friendly and helpful. They guided us every night to the best restaurants according to our tastes and moods. They guided us to local attractions and arranged for taxis and Uber. One of the night employee was particularly helpful - don't remember his name. We asked him about the situation in Panama every day and he recommended we should leave before they shut down the airport. We were lucky to have left before the shutdown occurred. There was nothing to do in Panama anyway - Canal, Malls, Attractions were shut down. The restaurants were operating at 50% if at all. We have a really good time at Double Tree. Last day we just spent time at the pool which was shut down later after we left, went out for lunch, rested in the nice A/C room and then went for a walk and dinner later. I wish we had been to Panama at a better time but we had a great time never the less.

We arrived about 11 am after an overnight flight. We were greeted warmly and pleasantly surprised to learn that our room was ready. The room was large enough with a very comfortable bed, couch, chair and desk. Plenty of outlets. The bathroom was very nice with a separate shower and tub. At about midnight on our first night we were informed that our cruise that was scheduled to depart in a day and a half had been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The hotel graciously worked with us to permit us to extend our stay 2 extra nights. Front desk staff were very helpful in advising us about the neighborhood and other Panamá City attractions. The neighborhood is fun. Calle Uruguay is nearby with lots of bars and restaurants. The El Carmen subway station is nearby as is the beautiful church. We will definitely be back in Panama City and when we are back, the Doubletree will be a fine place to stay.

We visited this hotel for a 1 week stay in Panama. We absolutely loved our stay. The hotel was in a great location close to food, shops, the metro, and entertainment (casinos, etc.) The staff were very helpful. They recommended places to eat and things to do during our time. The rooftop was awesome. The internet was great. Overall, I would definitely come back! A couple of things: 1. The bed sheets were dirty and had stains on them. The cleaning staff was excellent however frequent changing pf sheet is necessary, especially between guests. 2. Sometimes the room smelled a tad sour 3. The beds are sitting on a metal underbody. This made the beds loud when getting up and down, etc.

The Check in and Welcome was very personalized. Breakfast was varied and very tasty. The stairwell and room needed some minor updating, however the king bed we had was phenomenal. We would have liked a shuttle service to and from the airport included in the stay, however the front desk was able to arrange a taxi service.

Hotel is nice and clean. Carmen church and metro station is just few steps away. Rooftop swimming pool is good and nice view of city from there. Gym and business center facility are ok . Breakfast was delicious and room was clean and spacious. Check in and check out process was quickly done by employee Mr. Pedro Garcia who also speaks good English.

I have to say, having stayed at many Hiltons in the US and abroad, that staying in this hotel was one of my worst experiences. As you come In, there is a chemical smell leaching constantly in the lobby. The personnel is undertrained and not very hospitable. The bathroom wasn’t very clean and the towels were worn and rough. Then of course, as luck would have it out A/C stopped working in the middle of the night. With half of us trying to sleep in the heat, the staff’s best consolation the next morning was “you should’ve called”... big what you would expect from a hotel line that prides itself with top notch service. I don’t think I’ll ever be back here. It’s not worth it. Take a hotel where you will have a good service guaranteed and where you leave feeling the staff will accommodate you on top of all.

Check in took over one hour with long queues and many frustrated guests. No gym or place in which to change clothing before embarking on a long evening flight after a day in humid Panama. I was advised by the check in staff to just change in the public toilets or book a room (for 100 USD) for a quick shower and changed of clothing.

While spacious, our room for the night at this hotel was showing signs of wear and tear, with the walls in particular being grimy, marked and in places cracked. We appreciated the surfaces and storage facilities, the decent-sized minibar, the inbuilt bedside-table charging sockets and the safe, and the ensuite was very roomy, with a large shower cubicle (which leaked, a lot). The bed was also big - a King, I think - and comfortable, but the bedding was odd, with a duvet sandwiched between two sheets rather than in a duvet cover. Saves the housekeeper time, I guess, but still, rather strange and not something I've come across anywhere else. The headboard also needed a good clean. The way the lights worked wasn't intuitive when we first entered the room, causing some confusion - we wondered whether you had to insert the door card into a reader; you don't - but once sorted out we realised there was a lot of lighting throughout, albeit with not all of the bulbs working. The alarm clock fixed to the bedside table was almost 20 minutes slow, which caused momentary panic when we thought breakfast ended at 9:30 rather than an hour later. (This and confusion over check-out time, which is 12:00, were due to the acoustics in the Reception area being terrible when there are lots of people in the lobby bar, us only half-hearing what was said to us upon check-in and these basic details not being printed anywhere in the room or on the hotel's website.) Breakfast was decent: I appreciated the proper granola, fresh fruit and yoghurt, and the scrambled eggs were good as well. The arepas were undercooked though, and the orange juice had that hotel-breakfast reconstituted taste to it. There was also nowhere to get replacement cutlery from of you needed it. The restaurant itself is not huge and rather cramped as well, affecting organisation: both in terms of staff being able to clear and set tables, and movement and flow of guests. The staff on duty were nevertheless courteous, considerate and helpful given the pressure they were under. As we had about four hours between check-out and our transfer to the airport, we needed to both leave our bags at the hotel and then rearrange things and change clothes before heading to the airport for our flight from summer Panama to wintry Europe. The hotel offers a secure Left Luggage service free of charge and there are clean, spacious bathrooms opposite the restaurant in which you can change. With only an hour until our transfer to the airport and not wanting to venture out into the heat again, we decided to take a light lunch in the hotel's restaurant. Service was polite and attentive, and the standard was good: the fresh juices were very nice, my Greek salad was tasty and my husband's Chef's salad filling. The bill came to just over $30. In general, much of what the hotel is doing of right - the overall level of service is good and its catering is more than decent - but the rooms need quite a bit of TLC. Location-wise, if you don't want to be in Casco Antiguo, this is a good option.
