Rooms are big and comfortable. Middle size bathroom with big shower with hot water is ok. Windows are good soundproof and in rooms from the street is quiet. Air condition is old and the smell isn't nice. Breakfast is poor. And Internet is very very slow!!!

Got a great deal and did not suffer for it! Well appointed room with a safe, free parking and a choice to include breakfast or not. Centrally located for our needs. Staff could be more personable but did not get that at the higher end establishments either. Best find was the tourist police. Most helpful any where I have ever... More

This was an ok place to stay. It's not close to many restaurants and I was simply a guest there. The room was nice and the hotel was clean and well kept. There is nothing else worth mentioning about the stay.

I recently stayed at Avila Hotel for a whole week and was expecting a better experience. After arriving in town about 7pm I had to drive 30 minutes to get to downtown Panama City. Once I got there, it took over an hour to find the hotel (even after asking police, taxi drivers and others). When I finally it, I... More

I visited the Avila Hotel with my daughter in law and used my Jubilado discount. The discount was applied, but they chose to charge me the same amount saved for the 'extra' person in the double room. I would never stay there again. The room did not have the advertised amenities, down to the shower cap which I insisted they... More

The hotel website photos look nothing like what we saw. It states the rooms are spacious and "are elegantly furnished with cozy, intimate feeling" for long term stay with quality towels, robes and toiletries to include moisture lotion. The room was adequately clean, but the towels were cheap and small, no robes and basic toiletries which did not include the... More

I stayed in the Avila for about ten days in January 2013 and was very satisfied. I changed to the Avila from another hotel in the area because of a poor WiFi connection in the first hotel. The free WiFi in the Avila worked perfectly. The room and bathroom were quite nice. The personnel was always helpful, with whom I... More

I stayed here only one night. I had a reservation (made online with 2 other couples) but did not have my confirmation number with me. The staff who speak almost no English were unable to find the reservation even though I printed the names for all 3 rooms booked. I finally phoned my friend who gave me the number and... More
