Check-in was difficult because the lobby was taken up by a wedding party. We took the long way through the golf clubhouse, through a busy restaurant and a packed pool area to get to the reception desk where we found that we couldn’t check in early. We had arrived at 1.30 pm and had to wait until 2.45 pm before a room became available. We had a nice room on the 6th floor with a balcony and beautiful view over the forest, the city in the distance, the golf course and the pylons of the Centennial Bridge over the Canal. However, there were a number of things not working: the safety latch of the door was broken, so was the desk chair and the outlet in the bath wasn’t working. The hairdryer was missing, tea and creamer too.
We had a pizza in the Mulligan’s which was good. The breakfast the next morning didn’t deserve the name and wasn’t worth the money. There was fruit, bread, butter, some sliced ham and cheese, scrambled eggs, “beef jerky” (marinated beef in a sauce), tortillas (corn patties) and sliced potatoes. All of this was cold because none of the heating elements were lit. We missed cereal, pastries or at least some jam.
In the morning we went for a trip and when we got back in the afternoon we found that nothing had been fixed. After a complaint the issues were finally solved. The breakfast was miserable on the next two days and mediocre on the day we left.
The butterfly and frog tour only cost $ 2 but wasn’t worth more. The time in the butterfly enclosure should have been a bit longer but maybe because a heavy rain set in the tour didn’t take more than 30 minutes.
What makes this hotel special is the location. For that we would return at any time.

We spent three nights here, two nights in the presidential suite, and one night in a regular room with our family of four. Both rooms were very clean. It's not a luxurious resort, but it's nice and very inexpensive when compared to most resorts, so it gets four stars from me based on value. The views from the presidential suite were amazing. Like at our hotel in Panama City, it seemed very difficult to get enough sheets for our kids. We had to explain that our teenage son and daughter did not want to share the same pull out couch and my daughter wanted sheets for the chaise lounge so she could make it into a bed. Eventually we got them but it took two or three requests.
The restaurants are good, though be prepared that a lot of the restaurant staff are not fluent in English. We used Google translate on our phones and that worked pretty well. The breakfast buffet has a nice variety of foods.
I would say the biggest downside is the lack of lounge chairs. When we were there they had about 8 or so by the pool for a several storey hotel. Most of them didn't have people in them, just their stuff or used towels. So there was usually nowhere to sit comforably. If there were lounge chairs on the hotel balconies we wouldn't have cared, but it was disappointing to not have anywhere to relax in the sun.
The golf cart tour (just $4 each) was a lot of fun, especially when the caimans came over to check us out. But if you have the opportunity to do the night hike--do it! Be warned that there is a lot of uphill hiking in the dark, but our guide Juan made it so worthwhile. He and his helper Mikol caught us a baby caiman to hold and helped us see capybara, kinkajou, a baby humingbird, and large spiders (from a comfortable distance!). We also loved visiting the frogs and butterfly places right on the premises. Watch out for the adorable tame bunny in the butterfly enclosure, as it looks innocent, but may nip your legs as both my teenagers discovered, lol. Our guide was very nice and answered any questions we had and let us hold snakes there.
We would definitely consider returning in the future if we come back to Panama as the hotel is good value for the price.

For the price, I think this hotel is awesome! It's in a great location with this cheap tour of just $2/person for the butterfly pen & the tiny frog pen, and a walk through the forest with a guide.
The staff is great and attentive and super sweet. The food is good, not superb (but that could be because we decided to extend our stay for 2 more nights from 2 nights, and we didn't go anywhere else to eat). The pool is gorgeous, and the little walks through the forest are nice.
There was a problem with our booking through Expedia and they wanted us to pay another $27/person extra, even though our reservation clearly had us all in the room. That kinda miffed me, but once that was resolved with Expedia, everything was good. That delayed us checking in for about an hour. That's not super nice when you just arrive.
Rooms are spic and span. Beds are great. Hotel is in a gorgeous setting.

When this booking was made (we were a party of 6 with age rage from 4 - 69 in 3 rainforest rooms), we had not realised it was no longer under the Radisson umbrella and on arrival, it was evident that the hotel had fallen into total disrepair. Do not be fooled by their website as the pictures must be at least five years old. I am posting my pictures to show you what we experienced. I shan’t list all my complaints, there are far too many. The compensation offered to me was to deduct 2 nights off of my bill only for when I ( and all my family) checked into the Hilton in Panama City for Xmas eve and Xmas day. I was also offered free transfer to the ferry port on the day of departure as well as our last evening meal but I was still charged for the one jug of sangria we had with our meal. So much for good will.
On the morning of departure, a very small car arrived to transfer us to the ferry dock in Panama City. The driver was told it was for 2 people but there were actually 4 of us so most of our luggage ended up being strapped on the roof! My son and his partner had left the hotel on 24th December and did not return. Every picture tells a story and I’m guessing we all have our own standards! There were no cushions on any of the poolside chairs which is most unusual especially as the chairs were falling apart and very uncomfortable.
The location overlooking the rainforest is without a doubt fantastic and is what this hotel is all about and the reason why we chose it. We were thrilled to see so much wildlife on our doorstep which was the only consolation in staying there. Be warned. . .

Total split personality! Needs closing and renovating!
We spent three nights here and had such a mixed experience. Whilst $88 for a room with breakfast in a rainforest is awesome, and the pool is great, the rest of the experience was a disappointment.
We had to change rooms 3 times, had broken chairs, broken fridges that leaked everywhere, even had a broken balcony door in one room that wouldn't open! All three bathrooms were great, best bit of the rooms. And the beda are super comfy. But the hotel is so old and tired, with heavy, loud construction work going on until 4pm daily, and i mean jackhammers (!!), that its just not fair to subject paying customers to this. All balconies are rusted and broken, handles fell off when we touched them and 50 % or more of the staff are ignorant and rude. They just have zero consistency here and its such such a shame.
The other half of staff are amazing, professional and helpful, such as Sergio the guide. But we even had an apology drinks voucher given to us, to buy 2 cocktails in the bar. When we bought 2 cocktails the barman said we could only buy a lemonade with them! We went back to reception who rang through and said it was resolved. Then when we checked out, they charged us for them again!
They simply need to shut, do all the necessary repairs and there are alot of them, train the staff and open again. For instance, buffet breakfast could be great. But we had cold, soggy, undercooked scrbled eggs with complimentary shell, partly because the staff were too stupid to light the candle things underneath. 1 banana was on offer for the whole room, so first come, first served eh....the porridge was like cold sick and when you asked for something fresh, like a fried egg, it was just too much trouble and you might receive one if you were lucky.....
Such, such a shame and a mega mixed bag!!

We stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of our Panama trip. The hotel is in a lovely location in the rainforest. We had a rainforest view room which was quite large but was a bit tired but the bathroom appeared to be recently refurbished.
There is no information in the room on the hotel and its facilities, so used the website for information but even that is not up to date. We did a couple of walks through the rainforest but a basic map would have been useful. Wildlife was great, we saw an armadillo, lots of birds including 3 toucans.
The Mulligan bar served decent food and it was also nice to eat outside around the pool area.
The pool area only has a few sun beds, even though their is a large area next to the smaller pool where their could be more. The pool furniture is very worn and needs replacing.

My wife and I visited Panama for the very first time in March 2023. We selected this hotel for part of our stay due to its location close to the city, close to the canal, and because it had an on-site golf course. When we travel I like to play while my wife likes to sit at the pool.
My poor experience with this hotel started before I even arrived. Despite making several inquiries about tee time availability, I received no response from contact methods listed on their website. This didn’t deter me too much as I have played all over the world and have never had issues being fit in as a single player. The lack of customer service also reared itself when my third party booking agent attempted to make inquiries to adjust our booking but also could not get In touch with anyone at the hotel.
My disappointment grew when we booked into the hotel. I was immediately told that golf would not be available for the duration of my visit as the hotel was hosting a kids tournament. I was told more than once that they could not fit me in anywhere. ( even though the next 2 mornings I saw several people playing in the morning before the tournament was started)
When I made on-site inquiries about adjusting the reservation, I was told a manager needed to be consulted. They proceeded to charge me for the entire reservation.
The location is good for seeing the canal, and also convenient for some trips - I recommend visiting Monkey Island.
The on site restaurant is very basic, and is barely above pub food. The breakfast bar is sufficient.
My wife and I are avid runners but this location is not conducive for that. The roadway nearby has no shoulders and traffic in the area made the prospect of running far too dangerous.
The hotel was also hosting a wedding during our stay so they cordoned off a large part of their outdoor area for that purpose which left the one available pool overcrowded with minimal sun beds for the rest of the guests.
Given the above noted disappointments, my wife and I decided to check in to another hotel. I tried repeatedly to touch base with a manager to shorten our stay. Finally on the second day I spoke to one who seemed understanding to our grievances. We came to an agreement that I even though we were checking out after 2 days, I would pay for a third, and he in turn would not charge me for the last day of our original reservation. He said it may take some time for my account to be credited.
When I checked out, I asked for a receipt, and was, again, told that a manager would have to do that when they got in.
A month after our stay, and after several attempts to reach the hotel, some correspondence which was responded to, the hotel has yet to issue a credit, and they have pretty much had zero dialogue.
Although, we very much enjoyed our trip to Panama and will be making a return in the near future, we will not be going back to this hotel.

The location, grounds and included little walks are all fab. It's set near the gamboa & soberania national parks & rainforest so great for hikes. The hotel itself though is a let down and very underwhelming. It's outdated and run down. Carpets in the corridor old and worn. The bedrooms whilst clean badly need to be renovated with rust everywhere on the balcony and lamps, chipped furniture, appliances not working.
The restaurent at the hotel has a limited selection and overpriced for what it is. The food came out cold and had to be sent back. There is no ambiance inside the restaurent but also there is not really anywhere else to go at night especially if you didn't drive so you are stuck paying their prices for medicore food.
Same for the breakfast, nothing tasted fresh and a limited selection. It's a shame as some of the employees are pleasant enough and the trails and nature is beautiful but it really isn't worth staying the night. We booked as saw a special offer on the room. There website states the jewel of Panama but please do not be mislead. The outside may well be the the inside needs a lot of work.

We were booked to stay for two weeks as it's a superb area for bird watching. We left after a week.
The good things: After much annoyance we did manage to hire a golf buggy to bird watch around the golf course which was amazing.
The steaks were lovely.
The bad things: Never been to a 4 star Radisson hotel before where there was no portage,, check in was awful, no information in the room at all. No furniture on the balcony (eventually got 2 office chairs.)
Very little room around the pool for when you do want to relax,
Tables not cleaned and you end up laying them yourself.
Poor service in general, I really don't think they care. The young lad behind the bar on ground floor was good but was run ragged!
Noise!!!! Every weekend they have weddings and parties so not only does the service get worse but the little space is taken up by the wedding and the noise is horrendous.
This hotel is okay for a couple of days but any longer is to say the least unpleasant.

I went to celebrate carnivals with my family. The rooms are very good, clean, good conditions and all the services required. The food is better than last time i visited, now it has several options, you can add more healthy options on the buffet at least fruits on the dessert table and also kids options. All the personal were very kind with us, always with a smile. Maybe more animation on the pool area could help on the fun side, i think there was music but difficult to hear.
A big disappointment was the gym. It only has one cardio machine working and like 3 machines else that i don't think were in good condition . Maybe a dumbbell kit and some other cardio machines working will improve the experience.
During night we went to movie night with the kids and it was great. For adults i don't think there is too much for fun, we notice there was a karaoke but i think it didn't happen.
In general it was a good experience, my kid love it and we hope it will be better next time.

Can we get a rainforest tour from your your hotel we also want to tour panama canal do we need to go into panama city everyday to get tours
Yes, we do. For guidelines on this web we cant share email addresses but feel free to contact us to reservations or call our number.
No, it's about 30-40 min from the airport. The best price i found was with Panama on Wheels ($60 each way for 3 people). They send a nice van and meet you with a sign. They require a first deposit int Paypal then cash for the rest.
The hotel can arrange for a private taxi if you like.
We are 20 min away from the city by car, we offer free shuttles everyday to Albrook Mall known as the biggest mall in Central America, at 10:00am and we pick you up at 3:00p.m, we also have shuttles to Miraflores Locks and Summit Botanical Garden.
