Clean, quiet and comfortable. Staff did not have a strong presence, usually not even at the desk. It wasn't a big problem for us but might have been under different circumstances. There was a refrigerator in the kitchen that we put a few drinks in. Breakfast was efficient as they took it out of a steam table they have set... More

Nice, clean rooms, aircon can be to (to) loud in some rooms. They forgot our airport pick up what wasn't so handy but we just took a taxi. The neigbourhoud is nothing special like a lot of areas in panama city but for the first nights it was an ok spot with a nice splash pool. There was a mini... More

Very nice old style hotel. Decorated inside in Caribean style, with wonderful stained glass windows. There is a small vivarium right next to the breakfast room, with all sorts of birds and a real Mono Titi, a Central American Sqirrel Monkey. Frank, the host, is a very friendly and helpful man.

I bring small groups of entomologist's to Panama several times a year, and we stay at the Canal Inn whenever we are in Panama City (have stayed here at least 12 times over the last 3-4 years). It's convenient to all the highways link to other parts of the country, and the domestic airport (Gelabert/old Albrook Air Force Base) is... More

We have now stayed twice at the Canal Inn, located in the Boca region of Panama City, near the canal and are planning another stay there at the end of the month. We also recommended the hotel to our kids who also stayed there recently. Host Franz simply cannot do enough to make our stays perfect - even drove us... More

A group of my friends and I stayed in this inn during our week in Panama. The owner of the hotel, Franz, is a wonderful guy. He and another worker, Maria, were extremely hospitable. The hotel was always clean and was a delightful place to stay. Breakfast in the morning was always delicious. The neighborhood of the inn was very... More

Arriving from the wonderful and remote surf spot Santa Catalina I didn't expect much of Panama City. However, the Canal Inn owners helped me to have four great days in this thriving city. To start with, (and I guess for many people a crucial factor when deciding where to stay in a big metropolis such as PC), the Canal Inn... More

This hotel is clean and 5 mins from the domestic airport. It is perfectly acceptable for a one night stay. It lies under a bridge which is fairly noisy. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It is very near the canal so useful for seeing he canal. Other than that I think I wold describe the hotel as fairly average

When we arrived at the Canal Hotel, scenically located under the noisy Bridge of the Americas (this is scarcasm), we were given room number 5. After the check-in clerk opened the door to our room, a rush of musty and mildewed air escaped from the room seeking freshness and freedom. After stating we would preferred another room, the clerk said... More
