Extremely small rooms and bathrooms, there’s no standing shower in our bathroom (Maybe because the ceiling is very low). The room was not clean at all, a lot of dust on the old small carpet. Bathroom towels - very very old and ragged. Our door handle was missing for 4 days (although on the first day they promise to fix it). It’s very busy and noisy during the night. They accept card payments only for the drinks from the bar not for the rooms. A public parking is available nearby, but we found our car tied perforated!
We waited for 4 hours to check in after 10hour bus ride. The room was not finished. By not finished, I mean not even built! They were putting floor tiles while we were waiting. Room is dirty, no soap, no paper, sink falling off, dirty windows, bed is on a pice of wood and very uncomfortable. The worst thing is that the toilet is not even attached to the floor! Toilet pipes are leaking on the shower floor and there is s*th and p*e everywhere. Owner is non existent and staff is uncapable. Food is awful and our friends had hair in the dish. Worst worst day every!
Arkabarka is an amazingly unique hostel. Staffs are friendly, rooms are clean and the morning view from the Danube is just phenomenal. Location is also very convinient. You can reach Zemun, New Belgrade and City center easily with the two buses (15,84) and by foot. The weather has been surprisingly fine during my visit despite the season and walking through the park was also super. Nothing to complain!
Stayed here for one night after coming back into Belgrade from a trip. Super friendly staff. Rooms are air conditioned which was great as it was very humid at the time. There were loads of mosquitoes outside but I didnt notice any in the room itself. Bar seemed to be open all night but no one made any noise. Beautiful view of the sunrise over the fort if you wake up early enough.
Just nice views, everythin else is not good. Rude receptionist at the day of arrival (Alexander), we had a very annoying incident with drinking water, there is a sign placed in the wall behind the tap in the kitchen that states the water from the tap I not potable. There where no drinking water in the room. We asked for potable water in the reception and Alexander the receptionist informed us that the sign is not right! you can drink the water from the tap but there are contaminants or other “small stones” in it! That Is something we can’t trust. We asked for bottled water end they offered half litter bottles at bar price, only we had to pay with dinars, no euro neither credit card is accepted and that with a very rude explanation like “here is not European Union, you have to use dinars, go to make change and come back to pay cash”. The time was 22:30 and it was raining, he advised us to go to a “MAXI” store that Is open until 24:00 and accept credit cards, he gave us very imprecise directions to go in the main road and the store is after 500 to 600 meters at the left side of the road, we decided to go and to our surprise there were no MAXI store where he send us, a search in the GPS revealed the closest MAXI after 2,3 Km. We walked there, got drinking water and returned after more than one hour walking in the rain, exhausted and very frustrated from the lack of hospitality of this hotel. We payed 58 euro for the room, the cost of the small bottle of water is something about 0,20 euro, it is unacceptable for a hotel to not offer drinking water to the guests and also unacceptable for hotel workers to give so much extra trouble to hosts that traveled all day.…
It was great expirience. The rooms are very clean like in fotos, on the river. Alex and Nino was all the time there to help us with everything we wanted. And all the time smiley. Our stay was unforgetable. Thank you guys.
Cool staff, beautifull location at the river and a very chill atmosphere. This hostel is the perfect place if you stay in Belgrade. To be honest, I have spend more time at the hostel then in the city itself.
The place is out of this world!!!! So cute, with modern furniture, minimalistic on one of the most beautiful locations in Belgrade❤️ it has lovely energy with staff who was so friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast, good prices and waking up on a river is a great experience worth repeating it ❤️
On a late night stay, when we arrived we were told payment was only by cash, which was out of the question as we did not have cash on us and the nearest cash machine was miles away. This is hard to find in the dark with a long walk from the road over 400 mtrs with only on road parking. We were allowed to stay, but the room was cold damp and dirty with the only heating a noisy aircon unit the bathroom was tiny and smelt like rotten fish, the windows in the room would not close and this was on a cold windy night, its was hard to sleep and we only stayed 5 hours ,we left very early but could not find any staff so we could pay for our nights stay, although we did not sleep properly in this horrible room, when we left we found that our stay had been cancelled and a night stay was deducted from my credit card, my review of the room on another site was removed because they classed us as a no show, of all the places I've stayed in Serbia this must be nearly the worst in every way. I expect the owners to make this review look like its wrong as the reaction of the manager by email was all about them and nothing about us... horrible please avoid.…
Hard to explain just how horrible this was. In short ,the windows would not shut, it was very dirty and smelly, their card machine never works they cancelled our booking after we left so could claim on our card ,don’t know why they could not charge my card while we were there.Cobwebs, stains on the pillow cases, damp floor, many other were complaining, but the manager didn’t care.i expect the view was amazing, we arrived and left in the dark. 400 meters from parking , with no disabled access
