Arkabarka is an amazingly unique hostel. Staffs are friendly, rooms are clean and the morning view from the Danube is just phenomenal. Location is also very convinient. You can reach Zemun, New Belgrade and City center easily with the two buses (15,84) and by foot. The weather has been surprisingly fine during my visit despite the season and walking through the park was also super. Nothing to complain!

First of all, I'd like to mention the location. The hostel is about 15 minute walk from the city centre and the sights. I also was pleasantly surprised, when I realised, that our room was cleaned up every day. And of course I cannot but mention the staff. All of them were very positive and ready-to-help.Absolutely stunning large room with dry sauna and incredible view from large windows to river bank. I really recommend this hostel, if your budget is not very big, but you still want to spend some wonderful days in Belgrade. My girlfriend and I really had great time together 11th days. Recommend ArkaBarka to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Really nice and original hotel in a quiet area of Belgrad. The staff was friendly and helpful, they arranged a taxi for taking us and our bikes to the airport. There was a delicious breakfast and a chill terrace open 24h. We could also park our bikes in the hotel. If there is anything non-ideal to mention, is that the bathrooms were rather small and their ventilation was not great. All in all, we definitely recommend this place!

We booked here because we where visiting for a wedding. And decided to make it a full holiday. With no warning on the site here (what would be easy to do) they send a mail, the day before departure there is a GDM Festival RIGHT outside till 3AM. This is down right scandalous. I will be asking a refund and looking for a new place to stay. i am not staying in a place that can't update there site to inform costumers on time they will be as good as INSIDE a festival that will last every day till 3AM.

We waited for 4 hours to check in after 10hour bus ride. The room was not finished. By not finished, I mean not even built! They were putting floor tiles while we were waiting. Room is dirty, no soap, no paper, sink falling off, dirty windows, bed is on a pice of wood and very uncomfortable. The worst thing is that the toilet is not even attached to the floor! Toilet pipes are leaking on the shower floor and there is s*th and p*e everywhere. Owner is non existent and staff is uncapable. Food is awful and our friends had hair in the dish. Worst worst day every!

Extremely small rooms and bathrooms, there’s no standing shower in our bathroom (Maybe because the ceiling is very low). The room was not clean at all, a lot of dust on the old small carpet. Bathroom towels - very very old and ragged. Our door handle was missing for 4 days (although on the first day they promise to fix it). It’s very busy and noisy during the night. They accept card payments only for the drinks from the bar not for the rooms. A public parking is available nearby, but we found our car tied perforated!

To be honest, despite the positive reviews we had read (which made us choose it among others), we were quite skeptical about what we would meet. You see, we had never stayed in a hostel before.
I can say that we found it rather easily (following istructions from Arka Barka's website) though in the night, a very cold night.
Entering, the place was very worm and we liked it, but even warmest was Igor's reception. He was very attentative, smiling and served us a welcome drink of our choice (we had rakia).
Room was very basic in comparison to a hotel room but that wasn't a problem.
Bathroom also was very basic in comparison to a hotel bathroom but that wasn't a problem.
The mattress in bed was very basic in comparison to a hotel mattress but that wasn't a problem.
The only problem was the lack of chairs and hangers. After unpacking there was no place to sit or to hang our clothes.
What was absolutely fantastic was the view from our window. Danube in our hands or us in Danube's hands!!!!!! Feeling the breeze of Danube and sleeping in a boat hostel was a unique experience.
Lounge area was very nice all the time, day and night! Great views to Danube, Zemun and Castle and great colours inside!
Breakfast was basic (toast, coffee of our choice, butter, honey, milk, marmalade) but was served in such a nice way that we were totally pleased.
The personel was absolutely perfect, especially Igor!
Walking distance to Belgrade was only 20 minutes along the river's bank and through a beautiful park.
We wood definitely stay there again!

My sister-in-law and I are around 50, so we don't usually stay in hostels anymore, but ArkaBarka is wonderful! Such a lovely location on the river. Yes, it's a bit outside the center, but you can easily catch a bus or taxi for very little money, and in 5 minutes you're in town.

The rooms we stayed in (king studio and queen studio) were both lovely, but we actually preferred the less expensive queen room. The wall paintings are fun, the bed is very comfortable, the linens are good quality, it's very clean and fresh and the views from the many windows are lovely.

Breakfast is simple and tasty with nice pastries and good coffee.

The staff and owner are all very helpful and friendly, especially Anna, who really took time to ensure we got the most of our days in Belgrade, (thanks Anna!).

Do not hesitate to book here!
