My friend and I stayed at this place and it was excellent. It is near everything (bus station, city centre, shops and restaurants. The price is good and has very clean rooms. All the staff members are extremely helpful and friendly. Communication was spot on, advise and suggestions provided too. I would definitely recommend this hostel to everyone and strongly suggest that Belgrade is visited by all travellers because it's a city that has so much to offer!

    Affordable, yet with high standards!
My colleague and I stayed in the Wake Up Apartments (they are not Hostel anymore) for one night, and we are highly satisfied with their service. The place was renovated, clean, comfortable and close to the center. I am sure you will like it too!

    My Belgrade home
From the moment when I entered the hostel I felt like I was a part of the family and not only a guest, which was for me the most valuable thing. Apart from that, it is very clean, great location, just next to Savamala, very close to the city center, comfortable beds, spacy rooms with lockers, good wifi and a great shower :)

We loved the front desk personnel..I do not remember the name (I apologize for that) but the boy at the front desk was a treasure..he gave us all the necessary information and more than that and tried to make our stay comfortable. Otherwise, the room was quite dark but clean and we had enough space for 2 the nights sejour. The breakfast was very poor, could be improved a bit with more healthy food. In the end, for the price that we paid we got a decent room, close to city centre.

Rooms are beautiful and well cleaned. The location is close to bus terminal and a lot of the sight-seeing attractions. The service was very accommodating, will definitely be the first place to check out when I come to Belgrade again.

Staff was very helpful and super friendly, very hospitable! Much more so than many tourist places in Belgrade, for sure! Beds were very comfortable. Pillows could be this, but overall okay. Didn't have breakfast, can't say. Central location and a covered patio common area was great. Laundry service was available and affordable, which was a lifesaver!

Very clean and comfy rooms for a reasonable price. Close to the bus and railway station as well as to all of the important landmarks. Only 10 minutes away from Republic Square. However, if you're with a car, it might be difficult to park up on the street. It's narrow and busy.

Just returned to Greece after a 4 day escape to Belgrade. I had originally booked elsewhere but after an incident we decided to stay at WakeUp. Fair price, clean heated room with four beds ( slightly narrow but we couldn't care less) , clean private bathroom always with boiling hot water. Though, the best about the hostel was not the accommodation but the staff. The male receptionist was as helpful as it gets, always willing to provide information and the lady was lovely even though she could not speak English we communicated perfectly. I strongly recommend it especially for traveling with friends.

The location is good. I especially liked that apartments are extra clean. Also brand new furniture, well equipped and comfort. Good breakfast for favorable price. This was a second time in WakeUp and definitely stays high on a list when selecting next accommodation in Belgrade.

I chose to stay in this Hostel due to the reviews and outstanding feedback given. I made direct contact with the property where the manager promptly showed amazing support in helping me making a reservation via what's up which was quite convenient and showed all photos and answered any question I had. So far their attention to detail was quite rare and made me really want to stay with them. I had a few issues with my own flights, has they canceled my flights and made my connections land later then they were suppose to and they managed to lost my bag on the way... so a lot of complications and again the manager was always there 24/7 replying to me and ensuring that I would have someone to pick me up despite all my flight changes, showing me again an extra level of service really outstanding and unexpected. Once I arrived to the hostel, no information was given to me regarding like how to use the kitchen or what I could use.. where I would find what and how to use what or even wi/fi... and since they have always someone there not busy.. I think they should improve the way they receive guests. The rooms are quite good for the price you pay but you have stairs which with a suitcase is not that easy and in the end of the day you do expect the basics regardless their beauty... And that's where the problems started. The room where I initially stayed (room number 9) it is a very beautiful room with balcony but there are no curtains to cover the light which means at 6 am you can't sleep much longer... if you can use your own eye shades... but it was something I was not expecting... Second thing.. their walls are incredibly thin and everyday at exactly 8 am I could not sleep more... everyone is talking extremely loud and closing the doors with no care and you simply cannot sleep with all the people bringing the food and taking the laundry and becomes a nightmare... so If you're not a person who like to be waken up in the morning.. this is definitely not the place for you... Third thing, I am a woman... I cannot physically take a shower in 3 minutes and that's how long hot water will run.. again if you can take a cold shower well you can still enjoy it.. but another thing I was not expecting... I tried to not care much with these little things due to all the help they had provided. I was unsure during my stay of how many days I would stay so I kept telling them every 2 days and unfortunately they had a reservation for my room, after 4 days of me staying there, and I had to change to another room (room 8). I was ok with it as I understood they already had a reservation for that particular room before so the next day I moved to the other room which was smaller and with no balcony and less conditions than the other one. I talked with the manager, although I could understand why I had to move it was also a different type of room and the price should be different. He said he had to check with his supervisor and after 2 days he informed me that it was possible but that the other room was again available and I could move again to the room where I was initially and pay the price established from the beginning. I appreciated the offer but I was not around and had already plans and could not make another move and to be honest I was not in the mood of moving a third time in 7 days for another room.. So I informed I was satisfied in staying in the other room for the price we agreed and not move again. And than I had a surprise from the manager which pretty much told me if I wouldn't move I would pay the same money for the better room regardless if I would do the move or not. So pretty much I was being forced to move and have what I was paying for or not have it and pay for it anyway! Wow!! That after all their service was definitely not expected!! Specially when I was staying with them for already 1 week and planning to go to belgrade every 3 months and stay with them... I was checking out 1 day after and he was having all this argument over 5 euros !!! LOOOL!! I mean their location is not the greatest... I talk by experience as you find for the same price better places to stay, closer from the center and far away from all the gypsies and beggars...and trust me in their area there are a LOT... they tried to rob me once... and you have better areas to stay. But I liked their service at the beginning and they were so helpful that I would have chosen to be with them regardless all this little issues that were not a big deal for me since I wake up quite early and I could do my hair in a hairdresser instead for the few days I was staying. But if that's how they deal with people.. Than people deserve to know that they can find way better service and places to stay and that they will only help you if it helps their wallet. I do not plan in coming back and was very disappointed with the overall experience when it had such a promising start. They have potential but they do need to learn how to deal with people in the first place and learn how to improve their service with the lack of basics that are extremely important such as water, curtains, sleep and noise... pretty much the reason why we book a room in the first place !!! ;P

They have such a kind and helpful staff that you are given maps and general information about the city the second you ask for it. Glad to say they have no problems in talking English, plus there's a big fridge downstairs which is used public and believe me - that was a total lifesaver. Also a heads up, Belgrade doesn't have a huge nightlife (not after 2 am anyway) in winter, so keep in mind that Stefan Braun and a club that is right next to the hotel is open till 5! But the most important thing on our part, they had wifi.
