Detailed Reviews
Thank you for one of the best hotel stays of my life. Every detail was considered: The artful design of the hotel lobby and bar, the quality of food and drink, the comfort and design of the room, everything down to the smallest detail. But most special were the staff. From Nemanja, who helped me with many aspects of my stay and with whom I also had a lovely conversation about Serbia and USA, to the front desk staff, food and beverage staff, spa staff, and the expert housekeeping staff, everyone make me feel warmly welcomed and at home. I have never felt so warmly welcomed and taken care of at any hotel before. My parents will visit Belgrade in the spring and I already told them they must stay at Square Nine. I would recommend this superior hotel to anyone.

Wow, what can I say. The most amazing hotel with such wonderful service, we couldn’t have felt more looked after! We had 2 rooms, one for us and one for the 2 boys. There was fruit and chocolates waiting in the rooms, along with complimentary water. Our bed was sooo comfortable and the rooms had Diptyque shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion - such a treat! Full sized bottles too, so no chance of running out and no need to bring your own toiletries.
Made the most of the hotel facilities, using the pool (me and the children) and using the gym (my husband). Beautiful to look at as well as relaxing.
It’s a haven, right in the heart of Belgrade, literally just a minute from the pedestrianised area with all of its shops and cafes and the historic Fort in one direction and Republic square the other way. We were here when Djokovic won the Olympic gold, and the party atmosphere around us was incredible, everyone was very friendly and you could feel the collective pride in their celebrations.
The rooftop Japanese restaurant has the best sushi and I can highly recommend the tuna as well as the wagyu beef. The main restaurant on the ground floor had so much choice and we ate there for breakfast and also lunch one day. If you’ve got a sweet tooth you won’t be disappointed by the Mille feuille which I loved.
Had a quick look at the hotel magazine to find we were following in the footsteps of 2 James Bonds, Julia Roberts, Cafu (Brazilian footballer according to my son), and HRH Prince (now king) Charles, as well as many others in our choice of hotel!
Can’t wait to come back and explore more of Belgrade and will definitely be staying at Square Nine again the next time we come.

One doesn't usually think of Belgrade as a great tourist destination but this hotel is certainly on its way to making Belgrade more of a tourist spot. The service was absolutely impeccable and outstanding. They really go out of their way to ensure that one has an enjoyable stay. It is not a large hotel but mid-sized. The eclectic lobby is comfortable and the rooms are modern. I would highly recommend the sushi restaurant at the hotel for dinner.

This hotel was wow long time ago. It's dated and it's lost its exclusive feel. Over the short period of time this hotel has gone over 100 % increase in their prices. The airport transfer was 30 euros, then 35, then 50 and now it's 100 euros for a short drive to the airport. Yes the price of the petrol has gone up but not so much that you can charge 100 euros for 10km ride to the airport.
The price of the room is also doubled but given its age that's sharing the only thing that's charged is a new TV that's still not big enough when watching it from the bed. The reception area is dark but if you sit in the lobby you'll notice how dirty the rug is. Unbelievable! Looks like it's never been washed just like the floor in my room as the dirt from my shoes was there during my entire stay. Even the breakfast used to be better, now you won't find freshly squeezed juice and the waiter, a young tall kid, who took our order was too busy checking his phone and forgot to pass the order to the kitchen so the lovely girl came to take the order again. All in all this hotel has a higher prices of accommodation that most hotels in the western European countries. I tried to provide them with the feedback thrifty their Instagram profile but instead getting a reply they simply blocked me. Belgrade does not have a world class hotels, this hotel has the potential but the greed killed out. Nothing has been invested over the years that I noticed to improve the facilities apart from the new panel TV's in the room. I would not stay at this hotel again for the above mentioned reasons. And before I forget, I stepped on a screw in my room. When I brought it to the attention of their reception staff I was told the maintenance must have dropped it before my arrival. Right!

Staff at the hotel were lovely and very helpful, the bed sheets were very comfortable.
However my room had several issues. Firstly the drain in the bathroom smelled badly, but that was fixed as soon as I mentioned it. Secondly one door to the terrace would not open, not fixed and the huge terrace had no sofa or lounge chairs, bare on one side. The deck of this also was faded and worn and dead leafs and cobwebs. Never seen such a beautiful space with lack of furniture, one side did have a dining room table and a few nice green plants. None of the outlets would work to charge my phone or I pad and the front desk did not have a US plug on hand to add to my cable, we did attempt 3 different devices but none of them would work, which was pretty stressful and time wasting. I do not travel with my own plug as 5 star hotels generally have solutions for this. I did tell the DM about this and he showed me pictures of upgrades they have coming which is very nice for the future but did not fix my problem.
Also no spare toilet roll in either bathroom, one bar of soap for two sinks, the bare minimum on towels, no Kleenex box in the powder room ( I know all this as the Kleenex and toilet paper ran out in the master so I went searching thinking faster than calling housekeeping). To me it seems like the small touches one would expect from LHW were not there in my room.
On another note I booked my parents a Junior Deluxe Suite and they were very happy, I guess I was just disappointed by the outdoor space.

5 stars??
From a structural point of view, the category may be justified. However, in this category I also expect friendly, attentive staff. And whether it is justified that the hotel charges €120 for a shuttle to a location a few kilometers away (approx. 10 minutes drive time) and even charges you to clean a shirt that one of these incredibly attentive waiters has spilled a cocktail on is something to be critical of. Price/performance ratio is out of proportion here.

We only tried the restaurant where we had the full dinner experience, which was fantastic and far beyond our expectations. Stefan and his team was attentive, educational and made us feel at home while serving fantastic food and local wine of high quality.
Highest recommendations to try this restaurant with a wine matching consisting of organic wines complimenting the food.

We recently stayed at this hotel, expecting a luxury experience given it’s listed as a member of Leading Hotels of the World and the steep price tag of €700 per night. We rented two rooms – one for ourselves and one for our granddaughter – expecting a high level of comfort and quality. Unfortunately, the experience was far from five-star.
To our shock, we found a bug right in the bed, under the bed sheet – we felt it ourselves. When we reported this issue to management, their response was highly disappointing: they offered only a 50% discount on one night’s stay. It felt as though they were indifferent to both guest satisfaction and basic cleanliness standards.
Additionally, the hotel claims the tap water is drinkable, yet it came out muddy – a troubling sign for a supposedly luxury hotel. We were also surprised to find no free bottled water provided in the room, despite the high price.
In conclusion, this hotel does not deserve its five-star rating or its place in the Leading Hotels of the World. I would strongly recommend that travelers looking for a true luxury experience consider other options.

Dear Sergej M. Thank you for your stay with us while visiting Belgrade. I am sorry to read about the inconvenience that you have gone through, and I sincerely apologize on behalf of the entire team. We are proud about the service that me and my colleagues are providing on daily basis and at the same time we are ready to receive the constructive criticism from which we can learn as well. Saying about the criticism that on this occasion is in place, of course, we have offered you to adjust the rate for that night as you had an inconvenience. Bug that you are showing is the bug that is coming from outside, not a bed bug as you have written on some other social media. Again, I really appreciate when we have constructive feedback, but what I don’t appreciate is when the guest comes and say that if we don’t want to have a negative review about the hotel, we should offer for the entire stay 50% of the rate. We kindly said no to this request because problem was on one night and not entire stay and second, this sort of pressure we will never accept. When we talk about the water I would also like to see where we claim as a hotel that tap water is drinkable? To be completely fair, on every evening turndown we do provide a small bottle of water next to the bed and every other order will be chargeable. You had the water as part of the welcome amenities in your room, along with other items provided to make your stay more comfortable. Mr Sergej M, I am glad that you have decided to stay until the rest of your stay with us which means that we have done something good and made you comfortable at the end. I understand that your review indicates you may not return to Square Nine in the future, but if there is anything further I can do to change your opinion, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We would love to have the opportunity to welcome you back. Thank you again for your feedback, and I wish you safe travels. With best regards, Milan Sudar General Manager

One of the best hotels in Belgrade. Interiordesign is with classy style, bar and coctails very good. Really world class coctails and good offer on the drinks menu. Two restaurants, one on the rooftop of it is one of the best sushi places in the city, one on ground floor with one of the best Sunday brunches. Prices might be higher than usual for Belgrde, but it is worth it.
