Detailed Reviews
This is not a fancy place, but it is everything we needed for an incredible stay with kids, ATVs and a boat. The rooms were clean, well equipped and comfortable. There was ample parking. The locations was less than 10 mins from the Turtle Bay OTV park and a boat launch. The hosts were extremely helpful and accomodating. We will definitely be returning.

We stay here every time we come to the area. The owners couldn’t be nicer or more accommodating. We enjoy the fish cleaning station and the fact it’s a couple minutes from a free public ramp is great too. Always clean and good sized rooms. Beds were comfortable too.

THANK YOU so much for the GREAT REVIEW and the 5-STAR RATING!!!!! We certainly appreciate your kind words about us and our place. We do have a great location, so close to the lake, but you don't have to pay lakefront prices! (We replaced most of the beds in the resort this year - thanks for noticing!) Can't wait to see you again! Best regards to you and yours!

We stayed in cabin #9, which is smaller but fine for two adults. There was plenty of parking, and the cabin was well stocked with household necessities. Water pressure was great with plenty of hot water. The a/c was cold. I really appreciated the apartment sized fridge and full-sized residential double sinks and full sized microwave. The solar heated swimming pool was excellent and they were adding new landscaping while we were there. The owner, Dave, filled me in on the resort’ history—some of the cabins were floated to Aurora when the lakes were impounded. The resort does have a relaxing mid century, rustic feel to i with pretty good Wi-Fi. You’re just minutes from hundreds of miles of trails, activities and water at Land Between the Lakes. I hope to make many more vacation memories at Aurora Kentucky Lake Cottages in the future.

I was in town on business and decided to stay at this location. When I checked in I met one of the owners who was very nice and make me feel welcome. When I got to my assigned cabin or room, at first I was disappointed. I expected something more modern. The fishing cabins had been around for a while and not really updated. But, the room was very clean, it had two beds, stove, fridge, sink and a table with chairs. What more do you need. I was there for 4 nights and enjoyed my stay. I guess the old saying that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover is true. Warning, if you have Verizon cell service, you may have to stand on one leg and raise the opposite are to get a signal.....LOL

This is a perfect location for visiting the Land Between the Lakes area. There are many activities very near the cottages. It is also easy to drive "The Trace" north bound one day and south bound another with many hiking options. The owners, Dave and Jayme, are very friendly and quite helpful with offering local restaurants and "must do" activities. The Kenlake Marina fireworks display was one of the best we have ever seen. We are from Cincinnati and have a nationally renowned display in town every Labor Day weekend so we had low expectations for this small town display. It FAR exceeded our expectations. As advertised, this is not a high end resort but it met our needs and has lots of activities for families on site.

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to leave a great review! It sounds like you had a wonderful time while staying here with us. (You didn't mention any problems, so we're wondering why just 3 stars?) We thought the fireworks were amazing as well - Kenlake Marina does a fantastic job - Aurora's Kentucky Lake Cottages help sponsor them, and we couldn't be happier with the display this year! We appreciate your business and hope to see you again in the future. Best regards to you and yours!

Very clean, quaint, cottage. Owners were great about checking on us and even went as far as to knock on our door @ 10:30 one evening to let us know we had left a dome light on in the car. If you need a quality place to stay for a few nights without breaking the bank, this is definately it. Nice play area for the kids, minutes from the water, great shower pressure! Dollar General is a mile up the road if you forget anything.

This is a convenient, no-frills place to stay to be close to the bridge to the Land Between the Lakes. It's clean & comfortable. Our room was close to the noisy road so ask for a room away from the road. There's no coffee or coffee cups, but there is a coffee maker. There isn't shampoo (which we didn't realize) but there's a dollar store a mile or so away. Being there in mid-October meant that most restaurants were closed so plan to do some driving or bring food along. Ask for a drinking glass for the bathroom and the owners will give you one.
The owners are VERY friendly, good communicators and anxious to help. Thank you.

Hi! Thank you for taking the time to leave a kind review and 4-STARS! We do have a great location, just 1/2 mile from Kentucky Lake - and you can't beat our prices for what we have to offer. We strive to be friendly and accommodating, so thank you for the compliment! You must have stayed in Motel Room #1 - it's the closest to the road, (which is not usually a problem in the summer months with the A/C running but can get a bit noisy without it. Sorry!) We only have 3 motel rooms - the rest of our units have full kitchens, with cookware, dishes, and linens. We don't provide personal toiletries, except for bar soap in the bathrooms. We are so sorry you didn't have a drinking cup though - we will do a better job at making sure the motel rooms are stocked! We appreciate your comments and hope to see you again in the future! Best regards to you and yours!

My family of four stayed here last year in May of 2022 to attend a graduation ceremony at Murray State University. Both of my kids are college aged, and the four of us had a blast staying here. David and Jayme did a fantastic job of keeping the place clean and meeting any need that we had. My kids, even at their ages, loved that there was an area where they could play some games outside, and we all liked the "retro / throwback" aspect of this place as we were able to grill out and meet other families there doing the same. The campus is an easy 15 minute or so drive from the cottages, and there are other activities close by such as kayaking and canoeing. The restaurants close by are awesome as well. There are plenty of picnic tables and chairs for outside sitting and lounging as well as fire pits. Overall, we had a relaxing, laid-back stay, and we would gladly stay here again. Thanks so much David and Jayme!

Needed a place to stay at the last minute and they had a couple of cabins left, we showed up late and had a little bit of trouble finding our cabin but it was clean and the beds were comfortable even if a little outdated. The couple that own the property were very nice and very laid back.
If you are expecting the Ritz stay somewhere else, however if you want a clean place to stay this is a good place. I was a little surprised you have to clean the place yourself before you leave but for the price I can't complain.

We had 10 ppl. 4 of which was kids under 9. There was 4 dbl beds. And pull out sofa. For the price and everything g that was included. It was awesome. The owner. Was so sweet and very helpful. I'm glad we chose to make that last minute choice to call and get a reservation. Was definitely worth it. We could walk right off the back porch and there was the play set for the kids and the air hockey table pool table and ping pong. Felt like home. Plus they gave us extra towels and sheets. It was just so nice and a very awesome place to stay. We will definitely do it again.

It's people like you that keep us doing what we do. So happy you were pleased with everything! We are certainly the most Family Friendly Resort in our area, with things to do when you're not on the lake or spending time in LBL. We thought that was important for families - glad you enjoyed our facilities! Hope to see you again soon! Best regards to you and yours!
