Hotel is located near to the airport (15mins by car). The hotel is situated in a residential area which has grown around the hotel. A larger vacant plot right beside the hotel. Not much to see in the neighborhood. However, there is a nice park close by near to the lake/river.

Check-in was standard as well as the room. The décor of the hotel and rooms is quite outdated and the overall atmosphere a bit musty. The room was ok but nothing special. There was only one empty socket available in the room so had to change between powering laptop and mobile phone – not even the bathroom had an empty socket. The biggest disappointment was the air-conditioning which didn’t work. Cold air output was weak and had to keep the window open to get in fresh air. Luckily the weather was overcast and chilly which helped keep room temperature under 20c. Shower didn’t have very hot water in the morning. Breakfast was in line with the hotel style – nothing special. For example, no cheese selection and fresh eggs. The gym downstairs was ok but missing proper number of weights and equipment. Service was ok but no extra smiles or “warmth” in the approach. Staff seemed to be engulfed in bickering or discussing amongst themselves rather than ensuring customer satisfaction. Basic Eastern European mentality. On the positive side the TV channel selection was good and the location close to the airport convenient.

Overall, not a 4 star hotel in international standards, rather a 3 star. Generally, the hotel has probably seen better days and would need a major uplift towards a more modern and refreshing style.

We booked a room here due to a recommendation by a couple whose wedding we planned to attend.

Prior to our trip, I contacted Ms. Manole via email a few items to ask questions. She responded quickly and thoroughly every time.Due to her help, we knew that we would have a pleasant stay. She even offered to help us find a place to receive a COVID test prior to our return trip to the US (3 days after our return the requirement was dropped).

The front desk staff was helpful at all times and they were always willing to call for a taxi for us and to answer additional questions.

We ate breakfast there on three days and enjoyed the offerings. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The cleaning staff were friendly and did a great job.

Joggers: ask the front desk staff for directions to the park where you can run around a lake.

Nearby restaurant: if you want to try a restaurant within walking distance outside of the hotel, try the IL Capo.

Bucharest taxis: Eight different people in Bucharest warned us about being over- charged by these taxis. We took six trips and found that we were overcharged by two of them. For example, we took a taxi from the hotel to a museum and we were charged 60 RON. The taxi on our return trip charged us 28 RON. We took the same route each time. We probably should have asked for an estimate for the first trip in advance.

A special thank you to Ms. Manole for her kindness.

The hotel is very large, it appears a little dated in the rooms. Good cleaning. The room I was assigned had two defects: difficult to reach (two elevators to get there) and above all extremely hot, even 30°C. I had to sleep with the window open. Breakfast with good choice between sweet and savory.

We had the misfortune of checking into this property after midnight, and the person working the front desk was the rudest and most incompetent "hospitality" worker I've ever encountered.

First, the website for this property says that there is a hotel shuttle available.

Upon landing I called the property, and was informed that the website was mistaken and there is no shuttle service provided.

That was one of the main reasons I chose this property.

After finally paying for an Uber to the property, we walked in, and were not even greeted by the person behind the front desk. No “hello”… No “Welcome”, just a rude attitude.

My fiancee tried booking an appointment for the sauna for the morning, and he acted like it was an inconvenience and told her she would have to call tomorrow to the front desk to do it.

After he gave us the keys, we went up to try and get into the room, and of course he hadn’t activated the keys properly, so we couldn’t get into the room.

So we had to leave all of our bags in he hall and go back down to the desk to get them re-keyed.

And when we finally got into the room, there was an odor and he air conditioner wouldn't cool the room. It was too hot to get ANY sleep due to the heat.

Of course when we called down to the front desklet him know about the air conditioning, and when he answered the phone at the front desk all he said was a rude, “Yeah? What?”

Now, perhaps that is how Wyndham trains (or doesn’t train) front desk staff. However, at Marriotts they always answer professionally with something like, “Thank you for calling the front desk. How can I help you Mr.. Graham.”

As a Diamond Elite member with Wyndham/Ramada I expect much more friendliness and professionalism. Needless to say, we canceled our second night and moved over to the Marriott.

Dear Guest , Thank you very much for choosing our hotel and sending us the message regarding your stay . I am very sorry to hear about your problems and I can assure you that my team and I are committed to deliver the best service to all our guests . We are trying to do our best and to solve the guests’ problems immediately in order to make their stay with us really memorable. I think also that the readers/travelers have the right to correct information and for this you should have mentioned that your problem regarding the room has been addressed next day( you checked in at 12:00 am) and you have been upgraded to one of our executive suite . Also , you did not cancel your second night , you consumed your 2 nights reservation in our hotel. As regards to the airport shuttle we did not mention that we have a free one ; we can organize transfer from the airport upon request and it should be paid by the client . Please allow me to apologize for the experience you had with the front desk staff which has been carefully investigated . In our business , we give a very special attention to the training and guidance of our staff . This is a very challenging part of our activity The receptionist you met is a new employee and he is still in the process of enhancing the skills, capabilities and knowledge . Unfortunately , the Covid 19 has affected every sector across the globe, and the hotel industry is among the hardest hit . We lost many people from our staff in the favor of other domains and we have been forced to hire new ones and train them intensively . This is just an explanation , not an excuse for the receptionist behavior .We explained him the mistakes he made and we refreshed all the procedures related to the approach of our guests. I hope we will have the opportunity to welcome you again and convince you that our quality standards are high and we are able to answer to the requests of our clients in a very professional manner . I would like to thank you very much again for your feedback as our guests’ opinions are the most valuable tools in our activity Hoping you will give us the chance to welcoming you in our hotel in the near future , I wish you all the best . Kind regards, Flavia Sandu

They gave me uncooked chicken and a completely different dish which tasted very badly. I called them and they didn't seem to care to send me another order with the correct dish and a well cooked chicken. The other dish was much smaller than the description implied. I will never order from them again and I will encourage all my friends to avoid them.

Parking is always full (at 5 lei per hour or 50 per day), but they invent some VIP parking spaces near the construction nearby (on the spot) that they charge 100 lei (22 eur) per day. Horrible attitude from the reception. Felt mugged. location is near constructions so bear that in mind if booking (lots of noise) and dust.

Dear Guest , Thank you very much for your valuable feedback. We are sorry that you were not satisfied regarding our parking services . We would like to let you know that we always mention in our agreements the total number of parking lots and the fact that we cannot guaranteed their availability . We did not invent any VIP parking lots , in fact our hotel do not have any VIP policies as all our guests are very important for us . We are sorry that you consider the reception indications regarding the parking a horrible attitude but they only explained you our parking procedures and tariffs . As you probably noticed the 100 ron parking lots are in front of the hotel and they haven’t been created on spot , they are special designed as parking lots . We are sorry that the problems you encountered with the parking affected your perception of all our services . Thank you again for your feedback. Kind regards ,

During the check out which was early in the morning in Apr.17th, 2024, the front desk told me that they had some technical issues and they can't give me my invoice but they will send it to my email address as soon as they solve their technical issue. it has been 5 days since I checked out and still they have not sent my invoice to me. Even though, I have reminded their front desk two times by email. They kept sending me their excuses with no result yet.I am so unsatisfied with this check out problem.

Excellent service and location. Close to the big park. In the area you can find as well few restaurants, shops and post office. Relatively close to the shopping mall and subway. Rooms are clean and the service is good. If you need something you can always ask at the reception. If you're there you can always talk with waiters, especially with Eduardo (Eddy) - there's nothing he can't do, he'll recommend you local specialities or places worth seeing.
