The hotel is located close to the Old Center but also to many other tourist attractions in Bucharest. It is surrounded by a multitude of restaurants and cafes. The check-in, check-out and parking payment operations were easy. The quality-price ratio was favorable (especially due to the fact that the reservation was made directly from their website!). My parents enjoyed this citybreak the most in Bucharest, especially since for them it was the first accommodation at a 4-star hotel. :) And for me it was a short period of relaxation and detachment from everyday life.
Most Novotels are modern and new. It is one of the reasons I book them. You know it is going to be clean modern and a modern often funky dining and bar area. Novotel City Centre Bucharest is no exception. Which as I am a bit of a history geek it goes against the grain of that part of my character that I so often book to stay in a Novotel. Happy to say the Novotel Bucharest gave me a little bit of history fix whilst remaining its modern approach. I got the rest of my history fix later in Bucharest. Videos of my trip to Bucharest and the Hotel review are on my You Tube Channel. Link in my profile on here. You see the facade of the Novotel is actually the facade of Bucharest’s old theatre and the modern glass building of the Novotel morphs out of the old stonework of the theatre. Check out my pictures to see what I am on about. The ground floor is open plan (ish) that includes the bar , reception and restaurant area along with two staircases going up to the mezzanine floor and the terrace of the original theatre. The front office staff are great. They had organised a car to pick me up at the airport and my request for a room with a view was no problem at all. All my emails were answered promptly and my requests all dealt with. On arrival they were both friendly and efficient, with my room ready for me and key and check in all dealt with. So once the formality of the passport was dealt with I was off to the elevator to the 11th floor. Thanks to my Platinum Card with Accor i was upgraded to a suite on the 11th floor with lounge access. The suite was the classic Novotel design, which I actually prefer, to the new one. Especially in the bathroom, where I had a jacuzzi bath and jacuzzi separate shower. There was also a separate toilet of the living room as well as one in the main bathroom. The bedroom was totally separate from the living area and bathroom and consisted of a large king, immaculate and very comfortable. A dresser , flat screen tv and a large window with a great view of Bucharest including The People’s Palace of the Parliament. The living area again was immaculate, it was very good size space , however with only a small tv and sofa and desk it did look a little sparse. Complimentary mini bar and safe with hanging space completed the living area. The hotel has a spa and gym area, check out my pics on here or the video on my YT channel. The pool is not massive however it comes with the most powerful, never ending pool I have used which meant you could get a great swim workout. Sauna, steam room, gym ,Thai massage and relaxing area completed the spa. I only ate with room service. and my classic solo traveller choice of the hotel burger, however prompt service, cooked how I requested and very tasty. The dining area is centred around wine, in-fact it is called the wine stop. I had a most enjoyable evening sampling the delights of a few Romanian wines. Location wise, it was perfect for me, short walk to the parks and main high street and a healthy 25 minute walk to the People’s Palace which was my focus for the visit, some great footage of that on my channel. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Novotel Bucharest, and would happily reccommend. I also loved my visit to Bucharest so have intentions to return to both.…
3 of us in our mid twenties stayed in March 2019. Good location, check in was great. Room was modern, clean - 1 double bed with a sofa bed. Bathroom was nice with a great soaking tub. Perfect base to explore Bucharest, which was great.
This is a solid hotel to visit in Bucharest. It appears to be focused on the business travelers with its meeting rooms. There is a relatively large lobby area if you want to hang out in the lobby. The restaurant offered a decent buffet for lunch.
Stayed on business in May and hotel was as expected..standard Novotel and ok at same. Service was good. Rooms comfortable and clean. Breakfast buffet was normal and ok. There was some noise from nearby sites but not early or late so did not effect sleep. Very good central location for a visit to the city.
