Me and my girlfriend arrived on the 9th of January where we stayed till the 13 of January. We had the check-in done by Razvan at the Front Office. He is friendly and approachable, and he brings great value to the organization. We thank you very much. Another thing that we enjoyed is the helpfulness, and profesionalism of the House Keeping. Disliked · 1-st thing that clouded the experience was that the glass installed on the bathtub to prevent water from splashing all over is too short and the water pressure on the shower is very high. As a result, there was a flood every time we did a shower. 2- Me and my girlfriend wanted to have a glass of wine at the 11th floor wine bar in our last night in Bucharest. The person at the reception was called Radu i think (he has a tattoo on his wrist). I asked him if we need to make a reservation, or if he has a menu that we can check before. Instead of making a minimum of effort to do his job and be more friendly, he told me that he sees the waiter on the CCTV , and that we can ask him additional information. 3-We went to the 11th floor on the 12 of January at around 20.30 , picked up a table, and the waiter gave us the menus. Me and my girlfriend were looking at the selection of wines and the waiter started presenting the wines, STATING the fact that the wines are from Romanian vineyards and that, and i quote " these wines are all about quality not quantity, and that they adress to a special type of people" When i heard this, i saw black, but i didn't want to make a scandal with the waiter in front of my girlfriend, in my native language ( Romanian), since it was our last night in Bucharest and i didnt want to ruin our night. What type of people do those wines adress to, pal? Don't you think that if we can afford to stay at the hotel, we can afford to pay for the wine as well ? And another thing, i don't know where you worked before, but it is very unprofessional to say things like this to the clients, even if we were walk-ins. You should have just minded your own business and do the job that you are put there to do, and from which you are receiving your salary. YOU ARE THERE TO SERVE DRINKS, that is your role there, not to make useless statements. If i would be your manager, i would have ended your contract for this misconduct.

The hotel is situated in the city center and it was full when I was there in a weekend- I've stayed Teo nights. The rooms are clean, friendly staff. The only thing I didn't like that there is one coffe machine, but the breakfast was good and different

The check in was good. The parking is behind the hotel, according that Magheru is a large boulevard, you will have to turn the vehicle and to lose 15-20 minutes, so try to take it in advance to George Enescu street, cross Magheru and then turn left. Then you will see the sign with the hotel's parking. The room is nice, with a view on Bucharest.

For any enthusiast of Art Deco architecture, a stay at this hotel is a must. You will appreciate its façade: a fusion of Classicism, Modernism and Art Deco. You will breathe-in its history from the inside. While the interior seems to have few remnants of its 1930s origins, the circular central stair case is a pleasure to ascend given the echoes of its Art Deco past. The hotel is also notable for its human dimensions. Shortly after midnight on January 19th 1941, On January 19, Major iG Döring, the chief of the transport department of the German army mission, was shot dead in front of the hotel. It is unclear whether there were political motives for the murder, or whether it was a crima de pasiune. Nearly eight decades later, when staying at the hotel, I found the staff to be excellent: professional and helpful. The food was excellent. The lunch menu is so good that there is no need to find a restaurant elsewhere. The hotel needs some more tender loving care, though. My junior suite (#407) wanted some minor repairs. I fixed the curtains hanging in my room as the hooks came off the tracks when drawn. I didn’t have the tools to repair the loose toilet seat or the shower head which slid down its fixing to spray the whole bathroom. For me, these faults took the shine off the fourth star of the hotel’s rating. They might also account for the very competitive prices compared with 4* hotels in the vicinity. Just a little more attention to maintenance is needed by the hotel management.
