I was able to spend some time here with the slight relaxation of travel restrictions throughout Europe. The Covid-19 crisis has affected many things, but one thing remains the same: the quality of the Intercontinental Bucharest and its staff. I would especially like to thank Anemone, Mihai, Robert and Sebastian for their 5 star service. My room was spotless, immaculately clean and very modern. I appreciated the fine toiletries and the Nespresso unit in the room. While the amazing restaurants are currently closed, I was directed too Aria at the Bucharest National Theater next door. The meals there were amazing. I look forward to my next visit to wonderful Bucharest and I will certainly return to the Intercontinental Bucharest. Fantastic jobs, everyone.
The Intercontinental hotel in Bucharest is a beautiful luxury hotel and centrally located. The national theater is right next to it and its very close to the Romanian Athenaeum. It has all the amenities you could want in a hotel. A little on the pricey side, but if you can afford it, its well worth it. If you visit Bucharest and want to stay at a hotel, the Intercontinental hotel is the place to stay.
This hotel is very well located. There is a metro station very near from the hotel. Staff is really good. The only thing is that the hotel is kind of old in the inside, but really clean and really quiet. It is s very good option to stay in Bucharest.
We stayed her for a long weekend in February. We had booked a deluxe double room which included a complimentary mini bar. When we arrived at the hotel we received a very warm welcome from the reception staff and were told that we were also to receive a complimentary breakfast in the buffet restaurant. This was great as it set us up nicely for the day. Lots of choice and of good quality. Sparkling wine was available each morning too. We had a city view room on level 8. The style of the room is classic Intercontinental. It was extremely comfortable and had a balcony. We were lucky enough to have fantastic weather so often had the balcony door open. The amenities were great. High quality toiletries, nespresso coffee machine, robes, slippers and the mini bar. The mini bar which consisted of wine, beer, spirits, mixers, soft dinks, water and snacks was replenished each day. We chose the hotel as we are IHG members and the location. 40 mins in a cab from the airport (although we got the bus back no 783, went from the stop just south of the hotel) 10 min walk to the Old Town, 30 min walk to Palace of the Parliament. Spa/ pool is good too. IHG members get a complimentary welcome drink at the bar too! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Intercontinental Bucharest. Highly recommended.…
I chose this hotel because I am in the IHG rewards club. The first lesson being do not slavishly follow such clubs or you end up staying in an average hotel. There was a screw up with my booking and that meant at midnight a long wait to get it sorted. Such things happen. However, it would have been nice if they had at least apologised. No recognition of my Spire Elite membership and absolutely no sense of urgency. The room was tired but, much to their credit, very clean. Nice to have a nespresso machine and capsules. Breakfast was fine. I have now stayed in a number of Bucharest hotels and I am afraid that the Intercontinental - let down by poor customer service - would not be high up on my list of recommendations.
