The Palace Hotel Zagreb, located in the center of Zagreb, immediately next to the beautiful old city park Zrinjevac, opened its doors in 1907 as the first professionally organized hotel in Zagreb. The hotel has since undergone several renovations in order to be modernized and follow contemporary management trends. Today, it merges the comfort of a modern lifestyle with a warm retro-chic atmosphere created by its antique-style furniture and its modernist interior. The Palace Hotel Zagreb is the ideal choice for guests who visit Zagreb for business, as well as for tourists at particularly favorable accommodation prices.

Detailed Reviews
Spent a brilliant 3 nights at Palace Hotel. The hotel has a real sense of grandeur but with a really modern, relaxed service style. The room was spotless, comfortable and quiet, the communal areas are relaxed and stylish in the traditional style. Everything worked well in the room and the espresso machine and fridge were very welcome.
Breakfast was varied and good and the location was ideal for being just outside the main centre but only a 5 minute walk to the old town. The hotel is also surrounded by green spaces that were beautiful day or night. The area also felt very safe.
But the best thing about the Palace Hotel was the staff. Friendly, well informed, great sense of humour, and willing to help from anything from extra coffee pods to tips of things to see and do, to the history of the hotel and interesting facts about Zagreb and Croatia and its culture. A real credit to the hotel, their city and their country.

The Palace Hotel is an excellent place to stay: We stayed here on our honeymoon this past summer, and it was well worth it. The concierge staff provided us with great assistance when we had trouble with our inbound flight, and were very quick to respond when we needed help making new arrangements in advance of our arrival. The hotel is within walking distance of everything we had planned to see while we were here, and we never felt unsafe. The staff were able to make good recommendations for us to make the best use of our time, and we left with a very good impression of Zagreb, and Croatia overall. We would stay here again!

We found this hotel ideally suited for us , it is very close to the city centre, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Staff are very polite and well mannered.
And knowledgeable ref the sites etc.
The room was good . A good choice of food at breakfast.
I Would definitely stay here again when I return to Zagreb.

A belated review of this nice hotel in Zagreb. Very convenient as I arrived very late in the evening by train and the station is only a short walk away. The City centre is a short walk in the other direction, so ideal for seeing the main sights. Very nice room and if I recall a nice evening meal too in quite a sumptuous dining room. Hopefully will stay again one day.

I've been here for one night.
First thing it can be seen is warm atmosphere and old, traditional, almost royal layout.
Furthermore, service is very nice, simphatic and attentic.
Rooms are warm, clean, cozy and comfortable.
Although the hotel is in Center of city there was no noise.
Breakfast choice is vide and everyone can find something for themselves. Morover food is very tasty.

The hotel is a walking distance from the train station. It has an old style charm and the staff is friendly. My room was very small, but ok for my needs. It is probably a good idea to have a room to the back side, since the hotel is on a busy street. The breakfast was nice and so was the gym, which is nice but well equipped.

The Palace Hotel is perfectly located, grand, with recently refurbished restaurant and lobby; the restaurant and breakfast buffet are very good. But when it comes to the rooms... Mine was not as noisy as described by another Tripadvisor's user, but grab and smelly. The door-knob of the internal door was sticky either with accumulated dirt or maybe jam from the breakfast of a previous guest! The furniture has seen better days and the deodorant apparently used for the wardrobe so strong that I had to leave my things in the suitcase. But was really annoying, was the staff's bad habit to get in without knocking and for no apparent reason: it happened twice the day of my arrival last week and once more the next evening and I still do not know what they were looking for or wanting to do. Upon the advice of a colleague with similar complaints, I ended up with the 'do not disturb' sign permanently on.
I checked the bill before paying and found a mini-bar expense that I had never made: the man at the front-office did not bat an eyelid and cancelled it, but there was no apology.
I was travelling for business and I'll try another place if I have to go again.

Unlike the other reviewers I would stay at the Palace again. Its in a great location across from the park, near the train station and not from from the city square. The room was very clean and the hotel does have an old Europe charm to it. The service at the front desk was good -- they got my wake up call right, had a taxi waiting as requested and recommended a good restaurant for lunch. All in all a good experience.

No the hotel has no pickup service.
There are expensive taxis and cheap ones.
The expensive charge 240 kuna, the cheap 120 kuna
May be best if you contact the hotel direct on this one. Enjoy your stay 😊
Alexander K asked a question Apr 2018
Chicago, Illinois, United States18 contributions25 helpful votesHi is there parking on premises, and do you know how much was it? Thanks
There is parking on the small street beside the side of the hotel . An attendant came over as we looked for a space late in the day. Somehow he found a spot for us. I don't recall that we paid for it but we tipped him.
Greetings..... Palace HTL does hv a 3rd party pick-up/drop service. You can request them to book. We used their pick-up at ZAG airport. The person was very courteous & it was a smooth ride.
They hv a desk on the left hand side at the entrance of the HTL, if you need to meet & book your return transfer.
The Hotel is very close to the train station as well as the tram that passes thru its front door plus the main shopping area is also just few steps away...
Enjoy your stay...
