My room was amazing, very spacious, very comfortable with separate sitting area. Great bathroom (with shower). Small outside space. The staff is super friendly. The breakfast was amazing. Best to include with booking; otherwise, breakfast is charged separately at higher rate. The hotel is on a residential street, but within a short walk to the Cathedral.
Our suite -- Pliska-- was very large -- bedroom had a separate seating area w/a comfortable sofa & coffee table; there was a small balcony w/a small table & chairs. The bed was very large & extremely comfortable. A/C worked well. The bathroom was big & modern -- had both a tub and a separate stall shower. Room had a safe, a refrigerator, a TV ( we didn't use any of these amenities, though so I can't comment further). Staff is helpful & friendly. Breakfast is good, w/the ability to make capuccino, latte, in addition to espresso & Americano coffee. We had scrambled eggs w/feta cheese most mornings. Some people might that find that the room could use a sprucing up -- it is a bit dated, but then so are we so for us it was just fine. We never took cabs and walked everywhere -- sometimes as much as 5-7 miles a day. The street that the hotel is on is residential & very safe, with a number of embassies & consulates. There are also a bunch of cute restaurants on the street. That being said, it is about a 10-15 minute walk to the Nevsky Church, and then longer to the other attractions. The center of Sofia is really beautiful -- lots of greenery, beautiful buildings. Not at all what we had expected. Plus, the city is surrounded by rather large mountains. Overall, we had a great time in Sofia and highly recommend it as a destination.…
Hotel room booked more than seven months in advance, only to be told by the hotel 4 nights before the stay that there was no space available. This at the time of a major conference. The excuse that a big group had to be accommodated seems to be used frequently.
+ huge rooms with fridge, TV and free Wi-fi + Calm location with a couple of Restaurants nearby + excelent breakfast (Only menu with app. 8 different choices, brought to your room or to the lobby) + sweet and funny staff, felt very welcome + small balcony ( for the smokers) + clean room and comfy bed + AC in the room - no parking provided by the hotel (narrow street)
Spacious accomodation, with a/c, tv, fridge, robes. About 17 minutes walk from the university metro stop (11th stop from airport), just east of the Doctor' Garden a few blocks. Attached restaurant, Cotto, has good salads, meatballs and more. Views nothing to crow about, but pleasant neighborhood. Italian restaurant across street, but haven't tried. Friendly staff.
