The hostel is in a small house and the owners live there. You can't get rid of the feeling that you're staying at their place.
It lacks some equipment and a common area, the kitchen is small and I felt like I was intruding into their living room. In short, it doesn't have a hostel atmosphere if that is what you're looking for.

But everything i clean, the beds comfortable and the place quiet. Also, it's situated a at the very centre of the city, a short walk away from most touristic spots. Just for that I'd stay there again, and it's quite cheap!

The guest house is in a good location, just off a very trendy street which has a lot of great eateries. But it stops about there. The rooms were very dated and uncomfortable. Luckily we only stayed one night and left early in the morning, not the kind fo place you would like to spend lots of time hanging around. Make sure to call and ask to check if parking is available as well. The gate wasn't working when we arrived and the road works on the street made parking impossible.

Good location. Very friendly and helpful member of staff. I was allocated in a room in the loft with 5 beds, and with toilet inside the room, although the toilet door is unlockable. The room was cleaned. I shared my first night with another person, and I was alone in my second night.

The hostel has no lockers to keep belongings in.

I have stayed here 3 times and it is good value for money and in a good location. The room is comfortable and has a balcony. The staff are friendly and speak different languages. The young woman speaks English and two gentlemen speak Russian and Spanish.

We booked a double en-suite room for 2 nights couple of weeks before arrival. When arrived, owner brought us in a 6-bed dorm which looks more like a shed or a bordello, telling us that the room we booked is given to somebody else. Dozens of spiders were hanging around, bathroom was tiny and especially dirty, enough to refuse staying in it.

We have stayed at Be My Guest a few times. The owners of this hostel speak amazing english and know a lot about their city. When we arrived in Bulgaria for the first time ever George really took great care of us! We got horribly lost driving in Sofia coming back from a day of snowboarding at Bansko. He was waiting up for us like a worried dad! I also got really ill at one point whilst staying there, and they really looked after me.
The private rooms are lovely and warm. Great shelter from the grunge of Sofia! At another date when friends of ours arrived we stayed in the dorm room upstairs. It had only recently been renovated and was a great room for the five of us to stay in.
Definitely the place to stay if you're ever in Sofia.

We spent 2 night there, in a 6 places room, we enjoyed it althought the room and the bathroom wasn't so clean (but one bathroom was very nice, under the roof on the top of our bedroom). Good terrace where having a breakfast or a beer, good people travelers there were also families with small children. we were backpackers, and didn't looked for sterile room, we gave more importance to the atmosphere there, and i wuould do the same if i had children with me. Good place, in the city center, but Sofia is so small u can sleep everywhere and u will be already in the city center. one bad note: we had a lot of difficulties visiting sofia, people in the hostel hadn't any big or small english guide or simple flyer about the city, they gave us just a map, but it was written by cirillicus! In the city center we didn't find any guide...

This hostel is in an old (130 years) house in a lovely and central part of Sofia. It's on a quiet street next to an excellent art shop.
The people working in the hostel speak decent english and you can book rooms over the phone (which we didn't find with Hostel Mostel).
We shared a twin room with ensuite bathroom with a towel included for 60 lev (30 euros) which included coffee and pastry for breakfast, which we ate on the balcony/terrace. Everything seemed clean. The common room was quiet when we were there in the middle of August. It has a television and some books.
Overall an excellent hostel which is good value for money. I would certainly stay again.

The best thing for us was that this hostel is not trying to be something it isnt.
Its located on perfect location next to all the important sights and shishaman st.
The crew is friendly and helpful.
We loved the old house with wooden floor. We dont like new plastic places so it was perfect for us.
Although old, we had hot water all the time.

The place is very small and didn't seem to have much life to it. The room was quite basic and even somewhat yucky. We woke up around 6:30 and found the overnight staff person asleep on the couch in kitchen/common area. When he had made it to his computer, he seemed gruff with us.
