The hotel itself was quite nice clean and spacious. The area however not so nice and our first experience was outside the hotel where a woman who was completely topless screamed at my girlfriend for no reason. On checking in at the hotel I handed my passport over which was in a case the lady at reception pulled my passport out and ripped the photo page and didn't say anything carried on as normal not even an apology. This hotel was fairly priced however has now turned to expensive after having to buy a new passport as she ripped it.
We had an amazing time staying at the hotel. The rooms are tidy, clean and spacious. They offer a huge and tasty breakfast that will delight you. Besides, a huge plus for us was the staff, they were very sweet, kind and helpful. I strongly recommend to stay at the hotel when visiting Sofia.
Hotel Geneva where to start. I highly recommend this hotel if your thinking of a trip to Sofia -we booked a larger room & have been soo happy with our room, it’s spacious the wifi is great, lovely bathroom with a bathtub & shower, hot water is plentiful. Maid service is excellent spotlessly clean & lovely soft but crisp sheets ( a huge factor for me as I’m an insomniac ) bed also really comfy. Staff are all really friendly and helpful. Breakfast is buffet style and enough choice. Hotel Geneva also has a restaurant attached which is a wee gem, we had the best home cooked food here and our best meals in Bulgaria for sure were at this restaurant - all freshly cooked and full of flavours the grilled mushrooms were the best Iv ever tasted in my life! Again fab service. There are a couple of restaurants just a short walk from the hotel and Don Vito was our favourite, also there is a few pharmacies within walking distance some other little shops, and a good supermarket again within walking distance of hotel Geneva. We are so glad we did not book a hotel actually in the city centre of Sofia - there is a metro service & frequent buses if you wish to venture further afield but we just wanted to walk, chill out with our books and catch up with some work during the days. My one minor gripe with the hotel is our room had a shared balcony with the next door room, we had some beautiful sunny weather during our stay and it was soo pleasant to sit out with a book but not ideal if the room next door is occupied and the occupants want to sit out also - we were fortunate the next door room was not occupied for the whole of our stay and I guess there is no way around this if you book the bigger style room like we did, like I said it’s only a minor gripe and the only reason I did not give hotel Geneva a score of 5… Thank you so much to all staff at both hotel & the restaurant for making our stay in Bulgaria very pleasant indeed 😀…
Hotel Geneva in Sofia, is to be avoided, expensive room, old hotel, little maintained, cleanliness not who knows what, only 5 parking spaces, one right on the street I parked in such a way as not to block a door, I called the receptionist said it was ok, then they called us from the room to move the car back, when we wanted to pay by card in the restaurant the waiter sent us to the reception and at the reception they told us that we can pay in the restaurant😏. We were not inspired by anything.
The staff is very kind and helpful! The waiters listened to my daughter's orders and made her laugh while waiting for food. The receptists were always prompt to call taxis. My wife and I stayed here while adopting our 3 year old daughter. She threw many tantrums due to the changes in her life. The staff were always patient with us no matter what. The breakfast was plentiful. The restaurant was relaxed, with good food that was very cheap. The rooms were clean and spacious. Highly recommended!
The staff is very patient, professional and kind. The rooms were big, cleaned almost everyday. The meals of full board supplement were delicious and the portions we huge. The stuff even prepared vegan dishes especially for me everyday. The food was ready whenever we were. Great value for money. We will most definitely come back!
Well. This hotel have big and clean rooms but they are spartan.Breakfast is spartan too.Personel is very kind and helpfull and are best part of hotel.Hotel is cheap and offer great value for money.Anywhere else in Europe this hotel would have at most 3 stars but in Bulgaria they got 4.Overall I m happy with this place and will return.
The hotel is middle quality. Only adventage is big rooms. They said that they've parking but it is not true. It's very difficult to park if the hotel is full. They can offer you parking for 16lev which is like a elevator. If someone entered before you and wanted to exit first you have to go and move your car. Another opportunity is to park in parking from another hotel which is 1km faraway. It is clean but only that what is visible. Looks like the cleaning lady didn't move the blanket for long. The bucket is broken, it looks like it won't even change it.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel Geneva! The room was very spacious - double bed, plus a single bed, table with 2 chairs and was set up for making coffee, large TV, new and spotlessly clean large bathroom, and also a patio! We were impressed. Delicious variety of food at breakfast. Both the reception staff and cleaning staff were friendly and helpful: turning on the sauna for us ahead of time so it could get up to temperature, allowing us to use their computer to check in for our flight and print boarding passes, calling taxis for us to get us where we needed to go. Very helpful. The hotel is a 5-minute taxi drive away from the pedestrian shopping street and landmarks, costing about 4 leva (2 Euros) - taxi ride back to the hotel via a different taxi service cost more. The area can also be reached by the trams (we did not use them). I recommend this hotel.…
I booked on a site a room at this hotel 3 months in advance. The conditions of the reservation, meant that the amount would be blocked in full 3 days before the stay, having time to cancel the reservation until then. But I had the unpleasant surprise to see, that my money was blocked completely with more than a month before. The answer of the hotel was that a mistake happened and it is normal to make mistakes and they unlocked the amount. But I have been waiting for more than a week to release the money, without anything happening in this regard. My advice is, do not book large amounts at this hotel, because it does not show confidence.
